I bought my Pace 500 step thru for cruising. Since retired will be no commuting. Took no time at all to become confident about operating with street traffic. So also using for light shopping and dining trips. Purchased online and had no problems with build from box. Back brakes came needing air bleed. No Aventon dealer within 200 miles. Contacted Aventon service online and they quickly authorized taking to local bicycle shop with range of price that would be reimbursed. Had to call a few shops to find one who would even work on brand of ebike they did not sell. Found a couple shops within 5 miles and one actually did brake bleed next day within price Aventon expected. Emailed receipt to Aventon, got refund and brake problem solved.

I use it for cruising. I got my white Pace 500 step thru 5 weeks ago and love it. It's plenty fast and your review on the Pedal assist is spot on

The main advantage of step thru bikes that I rarely hear mentioned is their cargo capability. When the rear rack has a basket or pile of gear strapped to it then the bike becomes difficult to mount if it is not a step thru.

fantastic review. I think I'm sold! by the way, is there a 750 watt option or some way to get more torque for hill climbing? I'm not looking for more speed, just more torque to get up hills at 15-20 mph. That reminds me, torque rating use to be common information for electric motor. now nobody mentions torque ratings. why is that?

I have and love my Pace 500. The best thing about it for me is the light weight. The 11.4 amp hour battery endurance pretty much matches my Aventon Sinch bike with the 14 amp hour battery due to the lighter weight. It is fast, nimble, and quick. My favorite bike.

Just got a Pace 350! Just a few rides around town in the first week, but I got my truck pad and I’m headed for the greenway this Saturday! It’s hilly enough here to get a workout even with assist.

I bought an Aventon Pace 500 back in Oct 2021. It came with a back brake that didnt work. Its now March of 2022, and Im still waiting for Aventon to take care of this problem. Aventon has a great bike, but horrible customer service. Also check out the return policy before you buy, it will save you money and months of headaches.

Comfort is about even. Pace was slightly faster, but both are fast.

Medium sized bike. 6' reviewer. Felt pretty comfortable riding, but wouldn't say no to a L frame for the 6' crowd.

At 5’2 125 lbs and 62 years old, would you recommend the level or pace 500. I believe I’ll be doing mostly paved trails riding in parks,

You'd do well with either. The Level is a little more commuter oriented whereas the Pace 500 is more cruiser/leisure riding focused.

I'm 62 also, and I had the Pace 500 for about two years. i'm 168 lb. I have been riding on mostly paved bike trails. Even on some fairly steep inclines. this Pace 500 goes up the hill with no problem at all, and that's using PAS level 2. And I'm not really working hard at all. feels like I'm just moving the petals to keep the motor on. As far as the Level goes, You might like the suspension fork. Comes with fenders. You can get the fenders for the Pace also. I added suspension fork to my Pace500 (not easy) and I kept the geometry of the bike the same (important) Also added suspension seat post.

As a 300 lb’er, I worry about that 500 watt motor being enough. I’ve also heard that Cust. Service is lackluster.

@@douglasskaalrud6865 you're both right, though it's considered a 500 (hence the name) due to continuous output: "750W (Peak), 48V Brushless Rear Hub Motor 500W (Sustained)"

No, go for a true 750. watt. be on the safe side. more power don't hurt. The Aventon Aventure is a 750 with a peak of 1130 watt. But it's a fat tire. witch I don't like. The cost is around 1900.00

Definitely get a large. I’m also 6’ and made the mistake of listening to the sales guy at the bike shop who said that according to Aventon I should ride a medium. I went with that and have regretted it. The seat post is maxed out and my knees are nowhere near extended enough. Get a large.

Kinda sucks that the fenders and rear rack are addons. Seems like rack/fenders are standard on even the cheapest city cruiser bikes since 2020.

@@keeponkeepinon76 I mean lets be honest here. The lights that come on most ebikes under $1500 are usually trash and either replaced or augmented by some lights off Amazon.

not everybody wants them. I know I don't. it's nice to have that optional. I also like the fact that it doesn't have fixed lights. I rarely use them, so I'd rather put my own lights on when I need them and take them off when I don't need them.

Not everyone even want's fenders or rack's, and you pay for those. You can simply add as needed. The way I like it. The Level comes with fenders and rack. And I did not want those on my bike. That's one reason I have the Pace500. I may get a rack for it, maybe.

The thing is that with equivalent bikes at the same price or cheaper from other brands, you literally don't pay extra for those compared to most of Aventons lineup that is woefully missing many addons that come standard for most bikes these days. If someone didn't want the rack/fenders they could always not install them, but at least they have them if they want them without paying extra down the line.
