Wait until you see the Basalt paint on the 24 Pace 500. It’s beautiful.

Thanks for the great review, I was initially going to buy the 2021 Pace 500 which our local store is now out of so I almost pulled the trigger on the Magnum Cosmo S model until I saw a few videos of the all NEW 2022 Pace 500 which is SO much nicer than last years model. Aventon seems to have some great reviews and quality bikes!

The Magnum Cosmo would have been the better choice. Aventon's quality has gone downhill a lot in the past 2 years. Too many things like spokes breaking, batteries sticking, bent forks, even now sloppy welds (versus their smooth) on these Next Gen Paces, brakes that squeal, or brakes that come without enough hydraulic fluid, caliper bolts that are too long and wont go all the way in, leaving brakes loose. The welds are really disappointing to see on the next gens, especially where the body meets near the fork. Its like they only smoothed them part way. Prepare to buy through a dealer, as the odds are high if you buy direct, there will be defects you will have to rectify on your own.

@@specialist-in-tech Hello. So I just noticed this response you had to one of your followers. We are about to purchase a couple Pace 500 next gens in a couple days. I live in Salt Lake where Magnum is located and have test ridden most of their bikes. So it looks like you like the Cosmo better. When I look at things like welds they Aventon still seems a lot better, even though I know that doesn’t determine the overall quality. I noticed this reply is a few months old. At this point do you still like the Cosmo better than the Aventon? Thank you so much for your help. We have ridden so many bikes now it’s getting rediculous. Lol. I don’t want to make a $4,000 mistake. As we are buying two bikes.

What is the noise level of the motor when you're sprinting compare to Core5 Ride 1 up ebike. Or maybe just let us know the decibel from the sound meter of your cellphone. Thanks for added information.💫

Did you notice that there's NO place to put a water bottle holder?! No screws or threads. Clamp-ons aren't great bc they rotate and slide down with bumps. Even with an e-bike, you need water. This is a pretty big omission by Aventon...

Another version of "immediately launches bike forward" is erratically lurches forward. We have the 350 v2 model for my wife. She was so freaked out by the lurch she still hasn't used the peddle assist. I have three other ebikes at this price point and a little higher. 2 with cadence sensors that kick in pretty smoothly and stop when I stop peddling. I too was surprised at how pronounced the lurch is and at the delay in shut off after peddling ceases. I believe it borders on unsafe. This is really dissapointing because it is really a beautiful, comfortable and well constructed bike. It is too bad they skimped on the sensor/controller electronics.

How does large fit for you at 6-1 200 lbs? Website says to go with non step through model large if you’re 6-2?

I think it fit me great. Step through is nice to get on / off but not needed. I don't see how the step through model would give you any more height for taller riders.

Looks like the new Pace 500 will need a skid plate for the cables coming out under the crank shaft… I know that lots of people bought 3rd party plates to put on the Aventure… I would definitely want to protect them cables…

Imo, the pace 500 is a street commuter bike, so that wouldnt be needed. I cud see a case for it on the Aventure, which is purpose built to ride on trails.

I’ve ridden motorcycles and owned several ATVs. Throttles on the handlebars are always placed on the right hand side. What were they thinking putting the throttle on the left? They should have made it a twist grip throttle on the right. I’m in the market to buy an eBike, but not interested in this one.
@jerryfritz1199
@jerryfritz1199 2 года назад
Dave, I am pretty sure you can switch the throttle to the right side… it looks like there is enough slack in the cable to do so … As far as a twist throttle goes, I had one on a Volton ebike and it ok… but I can tell you the wrist got a little sore holding it in place, especially if you weren’t trying to go full throttle…
@Dave-ei7kk
@Dave-ei7kk 2 года назад
@@jerryfritz1199 thanks for your helpful response! I don’t think the throttle will be a big deal though. Frankly I’m not sure I even want one. I did get a chance to ride a few very hilly miles on a friend’s mid-motor eBike. All that had was boost level settings on the left handlebar. The actual assist was controlled by a torque sensor in the motor. It was very smooth and intuitive. I found that I really didn’t need a boost level beyond the lowest setting even when climbing the hills. I ride for exercise and really don’t want the bike to do all or even most of the work. But as I age I will probably find a use for boost level 2 to keep up with my friends that have already purchased eBikes. I’ve also considered building my own by adding a mid-motor to one of my existing bikes. I have the tools and know-how to swap a motor in a car so building an eBike doesn’t seem like too much of a challenge. What do you think?
@srobeck77
@srobeck77 2 года назад
On all ebikes the throttle is on the left. You shift gears on the right side. I personally use the automatic pedal assist (usually at level 2), and dont even use the throttle, so its not as big of a deal breaker as u may think. In fact, some lines of ebikes (like the Priority Current), dont even include a manual throttle at all. (Imo, only for competitive or serious mountain biking would have much use for that manual throttle).

@@jerryfritz1199 that’s what i was thinking too, looks like all the stuff isn’t permanently attached to the handlebar.
