On Sunday I visited Avoca woollen mills and popped into Mount Usher gardens for a little wander. I thought I would share the day with you. I have more pics over on my blog too. Oh my this was such a treat. I discovered your channel quite recently and I’ve been binging like crazy! All of your vlogs and DIYs are fabulous. You have such a special presence and you inspire me - and I’m sure I’m old enough to be your mam! This visit to the Avoca Mill was extra special because over twenty-some years ago my husband bought me a gorgeous royal blue tweed cape from this very studio. I still have it and I still wear it. Am I happy you decided to show us this! The Avoca Mill with yards and yards of colourful threads and fabrics reminded my of my Designer Guild duvet cover (which was 400$ CDN in 1998!). The colours are so pretty 😍 I grew up in a family of sewers/ knitters and my grandmother weaved. Looked all familiar to me.

Loved both of those places. I love doing day trips like that. My American husband hates being out in the rain but if we didn't go out in the rain in UK or Ireland we'd never go out. the table runner is darling.

Avoca Mills was one of my favorite stops when I visited Ireland! I bought a throw just like the one at the beginning of your video (tan, cream and blue). I think it was near where the television series Ballykiss Angel was filmed. The gardens were beautiful! Thanks for sharing your day with us. I want to go back!

I felt like I was actually in Ireland (thank you for the mini vacation - I sure needed it!)! What an absolutely cute shop (gorgeous gardens) and the mill was so beautiful as well. One could definitely use all of their cupboards and shelving that they used to house their fabric, etc....for personal decor! Blessings!

Another lovely video! You looked as if you had a nice day; in spite of the weather. It's exactly the same here in Wales at the moment ... rain, rain and even more rain! 🌧 I'm just the same as you at the moment ... in that I don't know what I should be wearing this season. I like wearing dresses too - but my lovely summer dresses are sometimes not very practical in this horrid weather. Those gardens were gorgeous (even in the rain!) - it's winter here in New Zealand and I am so over it and looking forward to spring and gardening again! Your table runner is so pretty. Great footage. Avoca is so beautiful and you've really done it justice. So many fond childhood memories of Wicklow I remember buying my 1st piece of Jewellery in the gift shop at Avoca Mills 😘
