Apples and oranges. Both ARE 4WD! The difference in 4WD and AWD don't really matter until you have more that 2 axles to worry about. The volvo is on summer road tyres and the mitsubishi has some variety of mud tyre so there is no comparison here.
@@dondevine1372 well that's a different debate. In the engineering world is classed by driven axles not the amount of wheels for obvious reasons. But they both fall into the category of XX . I have a 6 wheels that is coerced to hand controls and is OXX as it's only 4wd. My dad's range rover derived fire truck is XXO. Axles are listed from front to back a O denoting a dead axle (which can be a steering axle) and X denoting a live axle.
i had xc90 and now have peugot 4007 wich is same than outlander and the 4007 performs way way better offroad i was really dissapointed with xc90 offroad capabilities but otherwise good car. The 4007 is better ofroad than any other i owned
Jesus christ sake are you kidding me man 😅!! Keep your momentum going and have an experienced driver in the seat during the driving!! Don't just stop . The electric awd system won't know what to do if you stop everytime you have the wheels just inches into the snow!! You have have a traction slip continuous in order for the system to come online and start responding to the terrain. Just trying to help you guy's have a better experience with your new car
Don’t let this detour you away. I love mine and haven never gotten it stuck. With the right tires and right driving you won’t have a problem. Living in Pennsylvanian I’ve put mine through a couple good snow storms with ease.
O3-O6 VOLVO XC 90 ARE TRUE VOLVOS,GREAT SUV's ! 07-10 xc90 are with ford 3.2 and v8 engine and GMC transmission ,no good.10 -present time, Geely a Chinese company took over ownership of the Volvo!!The new volvos are Chinese volvos ,made in China!!I would by a Subaru instead!!!
@@travelandcar yeah I get it. I just wanted to know what you think. I was actually thinking on getting an XC90 but the only thing I dont like is the AWD. Do you think it is actually any good?
I understand. I also do not like volvo. Mitsubishi is much better with 4x4. But this is my opinion and I do not want you to be conditioned. Mitsubishi also locks the differential.
@@travelandcar Trust me, I'm not. I've watched numerous videos like yours about XC90 and seems like it is really not that good on snow, sand, off-road-ish, whatever. Which is a pity. What I like about it though, for which I was considering buying, was the safety and the third row of seats. But I am disappointed by the AWD.
@@quintinn100 It looked like the AWD wasn't working properly as the rear wheels we're engaging once slippage at the front was noticed by the ECU. Also not using the "W" setting for wet or snow where the car uses third not first to start may have been an issue. Just bought an XC-90 myself.
