I remember wearing out the cassette version of the album twice on my old walkman when I was a postman (mailman to you :-) ). I didn't realise it at the time, but it played a big part in saving me from my developing mental illness; seemed like it was pulling my most negative impulses from me, and this song did that most of all. Been a long time since I've actually listened to it, but it can still play in my head when I'm writing a story where a character is suffering and helps me get them, and me, through some dark times even now, kerk
Your analysis is well said my friend. You hit the nail on the head as to why I have been a Megadeth fan since Peace Sells came out. Dave writes a LOT of his songs as a reflection to the twisted things that went on in his mind thru the years. He has suffered from drug addiction, aggressive nature, mental illness, and lately physical illness...and yet has come thru it all. I always look at it as it was his therapy thru his music, but at the same time it was mine as well.
You are the best reactionist i've seen on RU-vid. And im talkin 24 flawed people who do schtick and rarely give much actual analysis regarding the song. Thank You to you and your wife for. using intelligence over self ritchous theatre. Keep doing what you're doing....And your subscribers will multiply. Great job. 👊
Gene Simons was doing this song behind Dave back with different words. But Dave 😂 smirked and knew Gene was listen to his music 👍. This were I started listen to them and now I buying the older stuff . So many albums
I suffer from moderate ti sevre generalized anxiety disorder, and mild to moderate anxiety disorder. This song describes everyday of my life nicely before i entered therapy (was 30 then). I'm 35 now and realizing i have a bigger issue that that 3 year therapy span didn't deal with. I'm going back in two months to address it. This describes my back then. My current, is best described by two Megadeth songs you should react to. "Dread and the Fugitive Mind" (my current not great states), and "Shadow of Deth/My Kingdom", while about King Arthur, i realize it describes my current default state, a state i strived for years ago. It's weird yo. Love the channel. Hope you break into folk metal ala Korpiklaani.
Thank you for sharing this. I remember the Dr prescribing me medication for my anxiety and I hated how it made me feel so I stop taking it. Exercise and meditation have helped me alot.
OK, I see the playlist is not in order of post-date. Can't remember if I've watched this one or not. But WHO CARES! Great Tune! I'll watch it again! I'll comment again! Fun video, and great tune. From my favorite album. Megadeth Rules, Michelob Rules, T & T Rules! CHEERS!!!
a) This is the slightly edited and shortened version which they shot for the vid, would recommend you check out album versions first next time b) The solos in this song are all Mustaine, not Marty c) Great reaction
It's really fun to watch you discover the greatest metal band and one I grew up to in school in the 80s and 90s. Unbelievable talent in the many members that were/are Megadeth.
What you said at the end about anxiety/depression is practically the exact same as what I've dealt with for years. Living in your own head etc and the thinking too hard. I've had some real rough times, thankfully at the moment I feel like I'm hopefully moving away from it and maintaining a more positive outlook. Absolutely love your reactions dude keep 'em coming!
Yes great Choice.. cool video. Got my first tattoo watching this on headbangers ball at 16. Yeah my buddy’s older brother just got out of jail and learned how to tattoo. Used a Walkman motor tapped to a metal tube and a guitar string as the needle. Yeah I made great choices in my youth. Thank god the military took me in. Hook in the Mouth... I know you wanna do it 😁
Cool to see reactions from this album - was recorded in 'unit / hangar 18' at the Scottsdale AZ airpark - hidden away from HollyWeird - while they were sobering up... Slightly underated album, was definitely one of their tightest tours, (likely due to their sobriety) - as I have seen them multiple times, from late 80s - into the 2000s . . . . Always enjoy your introspective assessments, as well as a genuine like of the music, itself. Also, I know I keep asking, and hoping others jump on board, but I am so looking forward to a Beastie Boys Reaction - some ill song choices : Root Down So Whatcha Want Shake Your Rump Pass The Mic Professor Booty *** RIP MCA ***
When my dad was kidnapped from his job as a railroad maintenance worker and murdered I worried that something this would happen to me against the guys that performed the act, fortunately it did not happen but one point after his funeral I was worried that it might.
I was diagnosed with anxiety depression and adhd at the age of five. My mind is almost constantly going a million miles a minute due to my adhd and anxiety and then when I get overwhelmed by it it’s basically like an explosion in my mind after several smaller explosions then I sink into a deep depression for anywhere from a day to a month. It was really bad the past couple of years I was having panic attacks at least once to three times a week and there were a few times where I had probably four panic attacks in a day. Anyway how I usually deal with my issues are I will myself to focus on one thing for a while such as work, playing guitar, or video games. Also playing dungeons and dragons is not only really fun but it’s therapeutic because you get to escape to an entirely different world for a while that’s only limited by imagination and even though I’m almost thirty I still have an extremely broad imagination. However the main thing that helps with my issues is my son he’s almost four and he’s the light of my world I don’t get to spend as much time with him as I’d like to due to his mother and I splitting up a year ago me living in northern Michigan and her living in southern Michigan but the three weeks I get with him every three weeks is everything to me. I also have an awesome girlfriend that I’ve been with for almost six months she helps a lot with keeping my head above water and helps keep my feet on the ground. Apologies for the novel of a comment but it’s a deep subject that still doesn’t get talked about as much as it should be talked about.
Countdown to Extinction was my introductory journey into Megadeth, a CD given to me by a friend, and my life changed after that. Sure, I'd heard Metallica before, but their music never struck a chord with me the way Megadeth's did. I guess a big part of it being I'm a musician myself and can really appreciate the effort that goes into a Megadeth album. FYI: Dave and the guys always record their tracks live, so everyone has to be on point with their parts, and if any mistakes are made, then everyone starts over. I can appreciate the musicianship that goes into their production. Talk about dedication to your cause.
Awe yes Megadeath. Metalica's bastard child that grew up to be better than the parent in my opinion. That line "I'm in trouble for the things I haven't got to yet." Every male in a relationship with a woman should know exactly what he's talking about. LOL.
Addicted to Chaos is a great song for overlayed vocals!! Black Curtains is cool reminds me of the idea I had a long time ago of Lol Metallica using all their song titles in one song to tell a story!! And damn Mustaine did it!!
For me this is the album where Dave's voice found its nitch with in there music. I believe it started with Peace Sells but this album is where it came together imo. 8)
T! If you sat down with a pen and notepad, listed every song from the " Big 4", and rated every song, I guarantee Megadeth would come out on top as the most enjoyable band to listen to over-all.
Might I suggest a little Motorhead. A must for any metal head. Lemmy was the best. Fans go to the song Ace of Spades. Myself go to songs are: Overkill Orgasmatron Rock and Roll Love your channel.
You guys are really missing out on some greatness right now and should definitely do reactions to these four songs in a particular order. The first three are a trilogy that come together to tell a story both in lyrics and visuals. It's like watching a movie. The band is Falling In Reverse. Here's the songs you really need to check out, and in this order: Losing My Mind Losing My Life Drugs (BTW, Corey Taylor is in this song) After that Trilogy, check out the newest and most intense of them all : Popular Monster. You really will not be disappointed and I guarantee you'll fall in love with this band and the lead singer Ronnie Radke. People try to figure out what genre to call this band, because he raps, sings, and screams. Very unique style that we don't see enough of since the days of Linkin Park.
This song(and album) is definitely one of Megadeth's best. If you're looking for a bit faster, face-melting style, I have to recommend The Disintegrators. Now if you want a more technical, intense riff style, then Architecture of Aggression and Train of Consequences are great.
Yet another great tune and reaction. But like someone else commented, this "version" has been edited and shortened, you really need to hear the whole song as it was made. I introduced my former wife (and current roommate) to Megadeth and THIS song pulled her out of a very dark place, She learned to appreciate Megadeth and Dave Mustaine to the point where she became friends with him...he'd get us tix and backstage passes every time they came to play in San Diego. She got to meet him and thank him in person, pretty cool! Also, check out Pat Travers Snortin' Whiskey ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MykD8zgHuy8.html
you did "ashes in your mouth" from this album which is an incredible song two other i would suggest are the titl track "countdown to extinction" which is about "canned" hunts and/or trophy hunting the other one would be "foreclosure of a dream"
Go to hell from megadeth from the bill and teds bogus journey movie soundtrack. Totally underrated but probably one there best songs ever. Forgot to mention the music video is awesome please do a review home skillet.
This is a classic. Love this Album. It is Megadeth's black album. Do Symphany of Destruction next. Another Megadeth classic and one of my favs. It is there best live song but the album version should be done first. Megadeth are hit and miss live due to Dave's drug and alcohol addiction. It affects his performances. If you are going to do a live version then try rude awakenings. It was a live CD and DVD. The quality is great.
Great can you react to Halford - Live Insurrection album remastered the songs pretty much sound like studio recordings even when they are played live plus his voice sounds so fucking complete he sings Judas Priest era, his solo bands Fight and Halford plus covers and Demo remakes from Priest era vaults. You got to give this album a check in its entirety to believe it.
React to Captive Honour , the intro is masterpiece and heavy and the lyrics , oh the lyrics! Concerning about this song , sweating bullets is masterpiece aswell I couldnt imagen the face of the people who saw this videoclip in 1992 , their jaws surely were dropped! lol
