I've never had prints done, but I've definitely had people look down their nose at me when I'm in a costume for a convention. I know there have been way more people that really loved my costumes, and I've had people ask to take pictures when I'm getting snacks/food/parking et cetera, but I remember the people that look at me like they're above all the "childish" stuff more vividly than the nice people. One individual in particular was sipping their Starbucks with a co-worker and just STARING at me. I was standing in line to get coffee and it felt super awkward, so I gave her a shy little wave. She rolled her eyes, took a drink from her coffee, looked away from me and said to the individual with her, "It must be nice to not have a real job or any responsibilities." Umm.. what? I guess she just thought all of us were only there because we're unemployed and had nothing better to do on a Friday morning.
What that's so upsetting???? I'm so sorry that happened to you; clearly people don't get that cosplay costs a lot and takes tons of commitment, so yes we do in fact have jobs and responsibilities. Some people really are so closed minded... 😮💨
@@AnyaPanda It's OK. A lot of people at my work don't really understand it either, but when I compare it to their hobbies they enjoy, they seem to catch on. Strangers that look down on me like that I feel kinda bad for. How can you hate on someone for just having fun? It might mean they're not really very happy with their own "jobs and responsibilities."
i had a similar thing happen to me recently after getting casted in a musical, i needed to print the script and the person that handed it to me just stared into my soul for like 4 minutes then gave me the script. i'm glad to see im not the only one :>
I’ve had a similar experience not at a print shop but at a Denny’s my friends and I were at a convention we go to every November and we went in to the Denny’s near the con to get some lunch, and the lady the was our waitress you could tell she didn’t want to be there and she hated her job which I understand working at a restaurant is hard, but every time we would ask for something she would sigh and roll her eyes then take a while to get it. Also I’m glad your feeling better! I always look forward to your videos on Sunday🙂.
I`m so glad drug stores in Germany have been offering self serving printing services for years. There`s this little computer where you can just plug your phone, select your pics, select what sizes or specials you want, then its getting printed right then and there and literally no other person has to ever see it. I`ve had a few people snoop around for sure but they usually just get embarassed and go away if you stare at them angrily xD
Yup totally get you on this...Had to print the giant "Jerry" heads for our Rick and Morty group cosplay awhile back and the guy at the printer just stared for a good couple mins 😅😅😅 All he could muster up was a "oh....are you the artist?" to which I said "yes", paid and never looked back. Another awesome cosplay storytime Anya and the forest background makes you looks super magical 🪄🪄🪄
As someone that used to print photos for work, we DO NOT care what you print. As long as it isn't illegal, if she cared shes the minority. Make your money!
today I'd totally leave a bad review for the shop and just go to another one haha but back in the days, I'd probably go home and cry to someone about this weird lady. I rly hope she doesn't work there anymore
I’m so sorry about the first lady, but I’m glad that the second lady was so sweet :) I love it when people are so enthusiastic about cosplayers While I haven’t had any issues with print stores, while walking to a con with some friends a guy approached us and was like “why are you dressed like that what are you doing blah blah blah” (very obviously in a judgemental way and not at all in a curious way) Luckily my dad caught up with us and the guy ended up walking away
It's too bad you got judged for your cosplay photos. The ones you showed on screen looked pretty cool, and the thought of seeing someone cosplaying a character that I like would get me excited.
That first lady is so rude and out of touch. If I ran a print store, I would just be happily surprised by every set of photos that wasn't sex photos or torture photos. Clearly she's lived a very privileged and sheltered life if cosplay photos are enough to offend her.
that's so unprofessional from the rude worker it's none of their damn business what you print and why you're still paying all the same and it's not the customer's fault if their life sucks🙄
Oh I've never had anyone look at my photos when printing them.. Understands how that could be awkward XD Happy to hear the second lady was a better experience. No shame! Honestly I've just ordered print online the last 10+ years without issues. :) I enjoy these videos! Thank you for sharing!
I recently had to get cosplay prints from walgreens of a bunch of our members for a charity book of superheros and princesses and such. I think i spent like an hour and a half in the photo section and when i printed them out the guy didn't even noticeor bother to talk to me about them. like he wasnt rude or anything.. he did have to help me resize a few becuse thier heads were cut off. I hate cosplay prints sometimes. oyy.
I honestly don't really think the same for the first lady. She was rude which isn't nice, but I don't think it has anything to do with the cosplay or that she should treat the customer like a king and she didn't do that. So I work as a cashier and I always try to be really nice to the customers (wish them a good day, smile etc.), but I know a lot of my colleagues don't do that. And I was really mad at them for a very long time now because most people really just don't deserve being treated like that. However, I think over time you become desensitised and this overly sweet and nice persona most people have fades away because they've been working with customers for more than half their life and it's horrible. It's totally unfair to the customer who's just trying to get their stuff/has a question/whatever, but honestly as long as your server (cashier, receptionist, whatever) isn't being offensive and downright yells at you, don't take it as something personal. The lady most likely didn't find your cosplays weird, she became an unpleasant person over time because she hates her job (as you said). But I think her being in a bad mood and not being overly-friendly is understandable because she most likely can't do another job, she has no choice. If she yelled at you or was being very offensive or insulting you, that'd be a whole different story. This lady doesn't prioritise her work and friendliness, she probably resents her life choices and to blame her for that-- idk, I just disagree I guess
Still not acceptable behavior. No need to smile or be all chipper, it is ok, but at least be quiet and don’t make comments like ”Oh, _you_” etc, and make the customer feel bad. Don’t defent someone who IS acting like that rude unnecessarily.
Sorry you had a bad experience with the first lady. Also, theres nothing to be embarrassed about! You go to conventions and get complimented alot! Its not so different from the second lady
Nobody’s opinion matters but your own. Just remember that the people who judge you don’t have your best interests at heart, so you shouldn’t put much stock into what they might say about you. You got this!
Quick question, what volume do you do your background music on? I've been wanting to try bgm in my videos but don't want to have it too loud or soft. Just curious.
