I like how the meta has changed quite a bit since launch, but somehow Hood is still one of the best backliners in the whole game. She is always available and doesn't need special equipment or a crazy fleet setup to work: you just put her in and autowin everytime. I love my Hood.
yes and no. The more optimized the fleet or ship, the more effective the cat is, assuming you are using optimized cats. Cats have really weird math behind them, but in general, the lower the damage number, cats becomes far less effective and some times won't show any change besides a few pts. BBs for FP take advantage of cats the best, they can get up to 15% more damage, if properly optimized. DDs for TP as well. CL and CA will see very small changes even if optimized. a 1k hit will do 5% more damage at 1050. a 100 hit, will do 101. It is weird math, but that is how it works. There are rounding calculations, and CL and CA FP or TP bonuses are to low of a hit to show significant change. This is important to know, because even if you have a good ship but badly optimized, or a high optimize on a bad ship, cats won't make much of a difference even if they are maxed out cats. They would only provide 1-3% more damage.
@@yummychips_ I agree. BBs seem to gain the most from cats. After that I would CVs and CVLs have the next best benefit from them. CAs and CLs gain little. I use faction based cats for faction based fleets, which helps considerably.
you know what sucks about higher lvl content? i cant use my waifus and depending on the chapter im forced into using ships i dont care for or even like. feels bad man
i dont really care about ships that i use, the thing is, the ships recommended in the video are either i dont have or still at level 1 edit: althugh some ships listed here that i have that is good is level 100+
Sure you can do it. I dont know what ships you like but i have done charpter 13 with only iron blood ships (cause this is my goal :D ) and iron blood AA is = 0..
Slight addendum on Georgia: The pellets on barrage are fixed location, just the large shots are targeting The large shots *are* the majority of the barrage damage, so that's why she's fine on the sides However, if you don't run another ship that needs flagship spot, Georgia still usually benefits from being flag (on a medium/heavy boss roughly in a central position, the pellets represent around 1/4 of her barrage damage, and also splash nearby mobs)
Yeah, I have Sara on 120 and kicked her out of the fleet. Hearing her sweet annoying voice is just... annoying. Gave me Option to lvl Centaur. Now just for Enterprise.
Came here from a comment on my video saying you posted a related video on the same day. Didn't see any contradictions, NICE! Also, I see that KMS recommended fleet...
I like to use akashi in my back row as one of my ships for 2 reasons: extra ammo for additional attacks and emergency healing to top off my fleet before I challenge the boss. the in battle dot healing is not that much so I don't really rely on it that much to heal my group, but the outside of combat advantages more than justify the lose of the 1 damage ship since the back row is on timers and only attacks maybe 3 times in 1 fight at most. if ships could be swapped in the middle of an assault I would slot damage and switch out to her to heal up after I used up that extra attack. once I have cleared a stage and its safe level of threat I will change her for a damage ship because I won't need the extra ammo or the heals.
Thanks to this, I know now that the fleets I've been building are actually gonna be viable for late game content. Your vids are always helpful whether it's for AL or Arknights, keep up the amazing work :)
Great guide, ima try noshiro at tank spot after this, didn't know shes stronk, now can use roon for mob instead 👌👌. But lack of option for some placements shows how game design shrinking the number of usable ship badly in high tier. Edit: happy to see sora in CV part 😀 Edit2: i screw up the second edit smh
her FP is also boosted to insane levels when her skill is maxed out and she's lvl 120 with 100mm secondary the 40mm staag: she gets 564 fp, not counting any other buff you might get (like from Centaur proc). Pair that firepower with an HE gun and the fire damage per tick is actually insane, while also making the entire backline a lot tankier.
I'm just starting chapter 13 and run 3 carriers backline. Enty-Intrepid-Casablanca at the back and the front being Portland-Reno-Biloxi. Casablanca buffs all carriers and Reno gives them all resistance to dmg so my carriers are doing fine. Biloxi's skills proc 100% of the time so she's the most reliable CL for the role and being a Cleve gives her great stats. I also have a strong meowofficer pair that buffs Eagle Union ships and CVs/CVLs. 3 carriers can work excellent if done right.
@@themarky2714 ikr! If you give her the Russian 152mm main gun and a torpedo bulge with autoloader she's a devastating damage dealer and highly survivable.
The 3 carrier backline works....until you run into hordes of suicide boats or enough planes to blacken the sky. That's why BBs are needed at times, that and they can tank as your flagship.
Tbf she is better at clearing mobs as main tank. Her EVA buff lasts long enough to take almost no damage in mob fights, but will run out in boss fights and if you get unlucky with you backline damage she will die. Her dps is top tier, but is HE based and to me that's more suited for a mob fleet.
@@justsam100 she is also a far better anti-air (a +15% damage modifier) while being more tanky even without her buffs. Ibuki is better for burst damage on character mob fleet, having way better torpedo and using AP ammo allow her to have 5% more modifier against heavy armor than HE. But the anti-air is more worth it as it is better to tank while protecting your backline who should be the main' damage dealer to begin with. A'd anti-air is essential in later worlds.
@@antisaltknight887 torp nuking (Aya, Jintsuu, Ibuki) is actually more boss oriented, but whatever works for you. Game is easy enough anyway once you have top tier equipment.
@@justsam100 the equipment is effectively the most essential a'd overlooked one by new player. And things are not too hard to the point of the choice being irredeemable. As for torp, I don't disagree that burst damage is single-target oriented, it is just that for damage the backline remains better a'd as a vanguard, tanking and shooting down aviation is what protects your biggest damage dealer and harder stage (including EX from event) won't let you torpedo as efficiently, unless you get closer a'd take more damage. As for anti-air, it really depends on the rest of your vanguard a'd if they fill enough anti-air. Roon is meh for anti-air, and if you don't have a sandy or fully max seattle (or now Isuzu retrofit) for 3rd ship, having more anti-air will be more important than more torpedo damage. But it depends on your other two choice. Just3c even point out the importance of anti-air for the cruiser. (the most likely reason he does not put Saint-Louis while Ibuki is there, is probably because because he already picked Baltimore/Bremerton which fills the same roll as Saint-Louis, I don't necessarily agree with the approach that because Ibuki provide something different she should be here and not Saint-Louis but I still understand the approach).
@@antisaltknight887 late boss are mostly medium/heavy armor and I'm using Ibuki to nuke command ship instantly ( max fate Ibuki btw she get an evasion buff , so I can Nuke boss without getting too much damage)
I just followed this guide imgur.com/zXYSj90 I found from another youtube channel called Loli Kicks Bucket, so credit for him. I was more succesful in ch13 after following his guides than Just3c, but that might just be because there was 3 month time difference, and in that time I managed to progress a lot in the game in terms of having more ships at higher levels, and having more of the best equipment in the game to go around.. But the point is, I followed his lead to the letter, and ch13 is easy on autoplay even without decreasing threat level.
Thanks man gonna put this on my watchlist for future references. Im lvl 70 and mostly play to collect shipfus and still have no idea about good team comp & equipment lol.. Still at world 7.
Decided to finally finish chapter 10 and move on after a bit of a stall. One fleet runs Richelieu with Jean Bart and Enterprise and shreds stuff pretty rapidly. The other fleet has Sara retrofit, Essex and Hornet with waifu bonus. I suppose it may be time to bring out Hood for that line as she's lvl 110 vs Monarch at 81. I need to get Essex and Centaur leveled up as well. As for vanguards...I might need to work on Noshiro. At least Helena retrofit and my RN cruisers are getting things done for now.
Learned. Now I just need all those PR ships and somehow upgrade them to max and level them to level 120. Hopefully someday I can use the knowledge I learned. lol
My fleet would be Monarch as Flagship Ark royal for main damage of torpedos Then either perseus-healer or reliable support+Healer unicorn Then for my vanguard i can use 3 HEavy cruisers with best fp to help with the damage or 2 CAs that have incredible Hp then for middle an AA queen aka Sandiego For late chapters and for early chapter but on early chapter i chose Hood,2 Really good aircraft carriers 1 damager 1 healer or damager then for vanguard i really prefer portland retrofit then any cleveland class or helena retro which is good for late chapters then a good torpedo destroyer
I see why clearing 12-4 and H10-2 was so difficult. For 12-4 my vanguard kept dying and there was only 1 ship left, generally Sandy, I thought that Baltimore would be enough to tank them but it seems I'll really have to lvl up Roon For H10-2, I didn't modify the guns of the ships I already used so most of them were AP guns
Could you also explain what is speed adjusting for Formidable? She is my best carrier in my fleet along with Enterprise, so I want to max her potential
Thanks a lot for this guide 3c!!! I have been wondering about this for a while, at chapter 10 here but working on getting my fleets to 120 plus event/gear farming so xD but this cleared some of my doubts about where to use AP or HE guns plus the battleship and carrier dmg, well back to lvling xD
portland for the early game, I can agree, but I am still using her in world 13, even do I have better CA, she's still holding up well and even more with the recent introduction of level 125.
I understand that this is for the new players, i avoided ppaying world maps and just did other stuff but now that I need to grind PR ships i have to farm at higher worlds. For boss at world 9 hard more i just use 1 Lovely Glorious Hood , and 3 vangaurd i.e Belfast, Ayanami and Takao. I don't recommend this for new player because my Hood is at lvl 120 and she has the best possible damage gear she can can have except the legendary Salvo gun ofcourse. I have used this fleet on boss level 105 from Events and it simply melts the boss because Hood's barrage is just too powerful. I use another fleet to clear the whole map and then use this fleet just for boss.
@@Just3c didn't one of your earlier guide say that Akaga could pump out more dmg because of their faster loading time? My Akaga fires their first wave at 10s, their second at 30s, that means that within 40s they fire twice and are in the middle of preparing for the third-which equals to them being more effective compare to ShouZui within the first three barrages or SouHiryuu in general?
@@oopsieeeeee he probably talking about Akaga Auto performance, but in my experience ( I beat W13 using them lol) Nakaga is a pretty good boss fleet if u play manual
I'm honestly surprised to not see PR Gascogne in the battleship recommendations list. I would think her individual salvos would've given her an edge since it gives the player so much control on manual to hone in on bosses or specific targets and make sure that none of her shots go to waste.
I cleared 13-4 with War (flag)/Cent/Ent or Sara (personally, I don't think Enty holds up that well to other top CV late game, so I recommend Essex the most but I used her on mob fleet) Roon (main tank), Sandy (mid), Noshiro (secondary) cause I wasn't struggling with dmg but vanguard survivability. Will try Noshiro/Sandy/Chapayev in the future since I usually use Seattle and Baltimore on mob (also Balt + eagle carries not a good idea)
Monarch is also excellent for mob fleets, since many mob nodes have battleships that obliterate your backline, so Monarch can deal with them very easily, she made my mob fleet a heck of a lot more reliable
@Just3c Thank you for the great video. I've been struggling with 13-3 and 13-4, and I think this will help. The only thing that would've made it even better would've been a quick glimpse at the gear loadout for each ship. I've gotten through the rest of the game without needing to be this picky about gear, but I believe that's one of my biggest problems in Chapter 13... Do you have another video that covers gear for Chapter 13, or just some general advice you can share? Thanks again!
@@Orthus100 Good idea. I just wasn't sure why he took the time to show us his ideal fleet in this video without taking the extra 30 seconds to show us the gear he's equipping on the ships. Seems like an important piece of information to have omitted.
I think she's good for the first 2 battles since she has her 20% FP buff (If you are using a Russian Fleet) But after 2 battles her FP drops quite a bit (I'm using Gangut to boost Rossiya's FP even more or to reduce the amount of her FP lost after the first 2 battles and it's quite decent)
You have to have 4 Russians or Rossiya with Chinese for the 20%+ FP and Accuracy to happen. And Yes I missed Rossiya to. Shes honestly a good ship, but the restriction to 2 Battles hold her back a lot.
so this is something I've been wondering. Been playing since day 1 but dont really do the math but I have literally everything... About when is FDG dev level wise worth putting over georgia. and is there any point warspite/DOY>georgia? (I have dev 30 georgia) Like on a high mobility boss I know no warspite. but is georgia always better option if theyre sitting still? my fdg is getting up there in dev too... I've cleared 13-4, so doesn't quite matter, but never know when they might decide to do a chapter 14 or make some event super strong.
@@TheRealJohnux FDG and Georgia both have different barrages. FDG's is a screen clearing attack while Georgia saturates a particular area with two superheavy AP shells followed up by a rain of secondary HE. FDG works better for dispersed mobs, while Georgia is better for eliminating clustered targets.
@@SoldierOfFate thanks for Clearing up. I didn't exactly knew. But that answers @Tom Jungs question right? I mean when they have Different uses it's not necessary to put one over the other.
talking about vg comp.. i take it that the main idea is that (disregarding of ships chosen) the left is most tanky, middle is worst tanky, right? example: if i were to bring dido, tashkent, and sirius.. putting them in that order wouldn't be a bad idea, would it? (edit) on a different topic.. in the future, would you make a guide on mob fleet as well?
Seeing this then the fact that Howe is now up, does that mean that Howe can technically replace Warspite retrofit? Is Howe also considered good for wave clearing? Also, since i dont have DoY, will this setup work for later chapters (currently at chapter 7 since it was the latest chapter up when I stopped playing the game) Howe, Illustrious, Enterprise then Belfast, Aurora, Neptune.. or possible to change one of backline with Warspite/Hood/PoW.. also, will Howe skill work like this? I dont get if she needs 2 royal navy units in the fleet itself or just the backline
Considering howe buffs other BBs and herself as long as you bring another KGV or 2 other Royal ships *plus* good barrage i would say Howe is better then Warspite for PvE here.
Hrmm...Need to get Bremerton and Centaur up to speed. I noticed you didn't use Helena in the World 13 example. I'm hoping Zara, Sandy Kai, and Baltimore with Monarch, Georgia, and Centaur in the back will be good enough...
gascone U is a much much better boss fighter than regular gascogne. The only problem is the U version need the rainbow gun very badly..her performance drop quite a bit without it.
Me: puts loli as flagship, put loli on her both side, also put more lolis on vanguard! fleet 1 done. Then do the same on 2nd fleet. "smooth map clears never made a skilled shikikan"
I am now preparing for 12-3, I stuck at 12-2 due to low lvl ships. I am playing nationalist fleets [USS, IJN etc] so it is a bit tricky to put a good and balanced team together for the boss. As it is a plane storm boss I decided to put 2 USS BB +Enty at the backline to tank them but I am unsure about my Vanguard. Is Sandy, Helena and Minne any good or should I change something? I put Bremerton on the mob fleet maybe I should switch them.
Still avoiding ch 13 like the plague cause the brute force option i always use aint workin for some reason. I will still attempt to force my way thru anyway
ch 13 is where meta comes into play. Until you safe zone it, you will either need to be godly at the bullet hell part, or know how to stack your fleets properly.
I usually din't like video on youtube since I use it for playlist. But I give exception on this. Truly thank you for making this guild, I very much appreciate it :D
3c, some meowfficer have skill that buff % stat/damage based on meofficer's stat (like Antenna's 2nd skill increase BB's damage based on command stat for example). But it isn't clear whether the stat used is for one meowfficer or both meowfficers combined. So the question is which one is it? Thanks in advance.
For stronger players who can clear all the hard maps, do you recommend using maxed 120 ships to beat hard mode chapter 11 consistently for materials or using a few weaker ships to do hard mode chapter 10 for exp?
Once my ships hit level 120 I tend to stop using them so that I can level up other ships. My chapter 10 Hard fleets are around level 105-110. Though I did bring out one of my level 120's to clear 10-1 hard's boss fight the first time... I really hate that "pain train" thing with the line of suicide boats.
Once you get to clearing mode you can fight boss only, so ch11 hard gives more stuff overall. But at this point it really doesn't matter...people who can beat ch11 hard should have more than enough retrofit BP/Core data.
Great guide, should also mention some equipment for these maps, as I've seen on my discord too many shikians failing because small things like not having fire extinguishers (chapter 10).
Most of my Endgame ships are still underleveled and ungeared so i was forced to clear world 9 with this fleet Saratoga, Enty, Unicorn Portland,Anayami,Indianapolis Shouhou, QueenE, Warspite Sandy, Tashkent, Prinz Now im currently rebuilding my fleet slowly but surely
Im stuck as well. I'm Proto Bulin starved after refits so half my fleet are level capped and now I'm kind stuck in same area. I'm also horribly undergeared, but lack oil reserves to farm BiS. Ive only been playing a few weeks now so I lack alot lol Enty, Hood, Little Illustrious Takao, Kagerou(R), Sandy(R) Kaga, Warspite, Akagi Belfast, Yukkikaze, Juneau Conversely, I finally landed all the French event ships and made a whole fleet with them, The synergy with them seem absolutely insane so far (only lvl 20ish) curious how they do later.
Oh thank god for this, I'm getting my ass kicked in boss battles. X_X# {incert landscape portrait of my ship girls in bandages, crutches, iron lungs, in surgery, mouth to mouth CPR of Enterprise and Belfast.} Oh wait.. ->_>- Those two are fine.
Hey guys, noob here, but I see Noshiro everywhere. Is she that good? And ideas when she might be available again? I mean I've read Just3c reasoning for her but its kinda hard to visualise how good since I'm still noob ahah
for me always put healer like unicorn at late game or shipgirl that capable to healing herself like minneapolis (my minneapolis is such a Clutch master).btw your sirius is squishy?? lmao mine is so tanky that she's the last one who survive (infrontmost position btw)
@Just3c I noticed Gascogne Muse, but not PR Gascogne. So Gascogne Muse is more viable for Boss Fleet then PR Gasocgne? Is PR Gascogne's skills/barrage more suited for mob fleet?
