The first installment in the build of the Hong Kong Models (HKM) B-25J "Mitchell" in 1/32 scale. I am going to use several extra aftermarket kits/sets from Eduard in this build. Paint is mainly going to be from the AK Real Colors series.
This will be a side-project, so it might be some time between the installments, I hope you enjoy them nonetheless.

Very nice Kenneth. This was HKM's first kit and was their best until the A-20 appeared. Strange.. you put out a plane model video and I put out a ship video!!

Thank you Nigel! I have the Airfix Spitfire IXc and the Lanc in my stash as well, and then of course I saw the B-17G yesterday... so I guess there will be more planes coming up in the future. I was thinking the same thing, quite a coincidence :-O

Seems that you have the skills as a plane modeller too Kenneth. Looking forward to the rest of the building (c:

Really like your detail work, whether you do a ship or plane. But I'm also a ship modeler.

That is way nice! Looks like you are an aircraft modeler too. The detail on your flight deck is great. Almost looks like you could fly her.

This is looking so good man! I love the amount of PE you are adding to the kit. I know you will do it justice. I’m really looking forward to seeing the bare metal finish on the underside. It’s funny to me that we are total opposites in that I am more of an aircraft modeler that is currently building a ship 😆 looking forward to seeing the next video. Take care!

Thank you very much 😀 I am looking forward to the metal finish as well, but a lot of work before I get to that stage. Stay safe!

Ja!

Nice work. Useful tips and tricks. I just started building again after 40+ years and man can those tiny PE parts put up a fight. I need better quality tweezers, that 's for sure. And some PE specific tools maybe. And, and... But yeah, it's great fun to be back.
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 5 месяцев назад
Thanks, glad to hear that you found it useful. Take a look at my “Tools for PE” video for more tips. And I know, there are so many tools out there, but some good tweezers is a must.

My :32 B-25 took 60 grams of weight in the nose. I also used aftermarket decals cause the kit decals were boring, I used Heavenly Body. Metal landing gear is a must
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 6 месяцев назад
I think I will need more than 60g to avoid it to tip. I will add as much as I can find room for I think. I want to add some light etc so that will add some weight. The plastic landing gear was too flimsy for sure, so I figured that it would be the wise thing to do.
@raystarr4388
@raystarr4388 6 месяцев назад
@NorwegianModellingBench I added weight in the lfront landing gear area just behind the dash. I was even able to sneak some weight under the floor in the nose and used some inside the ammo boxes the nose gunner sits on. Pinewood Derby weights were amazing as I could mold it into small spots
@NorwegianModellingBench

@@raystarr4388 Great idea Ray about behind the Dashboard, that won't be visible either. Thanks for the input!

The flying B25-J located in the town next to me is getting a new engine. Parts alone cost $135,000. I will bet they would rather pay for all of your PE parts. :) I can link you to photos if you are interested.
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 6 месяцев назад
Fortunately the PE wasn’t that expensive 😉 I would definitely love to see the photos, thanks 😊

Have you tried using odourless mineral spirits with your oils instead of white spirit? They're a little more expensive but so much more pleasant to work with than the super-stinky white spirits.
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 20 дней назад
Yes, and I like the ones from Abteilung, but I was out, so then white spirit is the next best thing in my book.
