I'm having an HVAC issue and not getting much info from the forums or FB groups. My 2016 GTI no longer blows cold air from the AC. A scan on OBDEleven produces the fault code: B109D71 - Air distribution door motor Actuator jammed However, VCDS does not produce a fault. Additionally, the actuator does not click, I can feel movement when I put my hand on it and turn the car to the on position. The blower motor is working fine and all vents have a ton of force.... just not cold. What else can I look at to diagnose this? Could it be just in need of a recharge? And what is the best way to check that? It is a bit frustrating with the conflicting scans and lacking the common actuator malfunction symptoms. Hell, my previous MK5 made the noise but the AC worked fine.

hi there i have a golf mk7 tdi had heater matrix replaced last year and just noticed that there is cold air coming from the right hand vent and i have also noticed that no matter what setting i have it set to where its on the windscreen setting there is still cold air coming from the right hand face vent

I have a similar problem, my heat ac selection won't change it seems to blow from all locations but it's not blowing full strength. I have a 2015 vw passat and the code pulled is b108f71 & b109f71. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get that fault code as well however my car blends the temperature just fine my problem is the fact that it stays on top vent. It won't swap to any other position ie. No defrost, no floor, only face vent. However the switch will shut the ac off when I put it into defrost so I believe the switch is working?

@@shopdapdiy i might ask you here since David didn't reply. So, the car, A3 8V with 2 zone climate control. Lately, passager side doesn't blow hot air, just 'normal' air. Scanned with OBD11, no errors. The difference between left and right side are around 20°, the right side doesn't pass 29° even at highest setting. When I check with AC and cold, there are no issue. I would like to tell you that doesn't matter summer or winter, sometimes, the front fan from engine is at full speed for around 5 minutes after turning off the car. And second, it takes like 14-15 km (at 100km/h) for the oil to get to 89-90°, and the water 6-7km. Can you point me to what to check? Some flaps? Or something else? with me, my blows hot and cold air, but doesnt switch vents from the window screen vents to the foot well vents.... how can i fix this problem?

I believe it is located behind the driver side dash. Need to take the cluster out to reach it.

ive got a B108D71 recurring fault. forums make it seem like replacing the motor is a nightmare, so guess i'll take it to VW and see what crazy number they give me price wise

Have a similar problem at the moment with the front flat servo motor and got a similar error on vcds. Called the dealer and they want a grand to fix it, the motor itself isn't too expensive it's the labour as the servo motor is on the driver's side. The whole dash pretty much has to come out but some servo motors are located on the right side by the dash, and are easier to access so they are cheaper to repair so get a quote either way.

I have the same code but my problem is different. The middle vents does not blow any air. The left and right vents blowing air normally. The foot vents blowing air even if I close it they consistently blowing. Please help me I live in Saudi Arabia and it almost impossible to drive with no air conditioner 💔

@@revitalabitbol4265 No unfortunately, I tried reprogramme it, did not work, my mechanic said they have to strip the interior to locate and fix the problem, but it is very expensive and it needs good mechanic since making mistake will need to order the parts from germany or it will forever make annoying sounds and cracks. Sorry fo my bad English.

@@ON38TY Unfortunately no, the repairing cost is very high and could takes weeks to fix. So I have to live with it. Since here in Saudi Arabia there no Golf or even VW or even Audi, they are very rare around here and the mechanics also are rare and very expensive and in the top of all that they are very bad! I am planning since then to travel to the UAE to have it fix, but it is still expensive and because of COVID situation it is forbidden for us to travel to the UAE.

Anche io ho un problema simile, dono rimaste bloccate le alette interne delle bocchette centrali , audi a3 8v....dove si trova l attuatore che apre e chiude quelle alette...grazie in anticipo

Si si , era l attuatore lato guida dietro piu o meno i comandi del clima...per capirci quello che movimenta le bocchette centrali...un lavoraccio...lavorare alla cieca ....solo con il tatto..@@trikyphotography6031
