@@keymind117 wouldn't hear it either until it was all over with...if you were far enough away to not have your eardrums blown out by the instantaneous change in air pressure (guess that's why they say to keep your mouth open if one is close to an explosion? Ugh...ears blown out and your eyeballs popped out of their sockets, hanging out on your cheeks, still attached to the optic nerves). Who was the comedian that could get his eyelids to fold back behind his eyeballs that looked crazy as hell? Bernie Mack?
My dad flew these bombers in the Cold War and in Viet Nam. He was a bad ass. He never once spoke about the wars to me but shared about the stories with my husband. They went to Barksdale AFB in 2018 to a B52 crew reunion and he literally saw some of the same B52’s he flew in the 60’s and 70’s (rebuilt) sitting in the hangar and ready to fly. The commander was honored to let my dad, the previous commander sit back in the pilots seat and share some war stories with him. My husband also got to see a side of my dad I never ever saw. He said it was really something he’ll never forget.
What a sight" We here in the Uk too are so lucky to have Deployments of your Stunning Bomber in and out of Raf Fairford, An Outstanding sight to watch the Pride of the USA, God Bless,.
Imagine being a bad guy living in some cave in Afghanistan sound asleep but you are suddenly awakened by the sound of a b52 flying over your cave at 2:30. What an eerie thought
Blessed to have an opportunity to work on B52’s the past 5 years in the Air Force and counting 🇺🇸 I’m from Jacksonville too so seeing this is pretty awesome!
I grew up right next to Fairchild AFB, where my dad was stationed(he navigated these giant beauties during Vietnam!). And they would scream overhead daily! Such an impressive and powerful machine!
COOL! My Uncle was career AF. Back in the early 70s when I was a kid, he and my Aunt invited our family to visit them on their base. He had gotten special permission to show my 2 younger brothers and me around the base. When we got to the B-52 he crewed, I was stunned 😲. That was the biggest machine I had ever seen. I was curious about the 2 guys working at back of the plane. He told me, "they're fine tuning the afterburner." After the tour was over he asked us how we liked the bomber. My brothers were so impressed that they wanted to enlist when they grew up. I told Uncle that it was a nice plane, but I still wanted to be a Sailor, just like my Dad.
It amazes me that a bomber nearly 60 years old can still awe everyone who sees one fly overhead. When I saw one fly low like that, I got goosebumps all over. It may be old, but the B-52 is still one of the most impressive sights in the aviation world!
That's how you do it!! I lived near Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, La I used to see them birds every day. I love the B52 Bomber and A10 badass and great childhood memories.
Humble life, I live in rural Iowa now, married to a farmer. I run outside every time I hear the fighter jets from Offutt coming. Since this is a rural area, they often do dog fights with the flare bombs. So cool to watch !! The 185th National Guard from Sioux City were the team that escorted President Bush from Barksdale to Offutt immediately after 9/11. They are a refueling squad now. Sent all the F16's to New York. Sorry if I'm rattling on, but I'm just so proud of being an Air Force brat ! By the way, my Dad is doing ok. He was the first patient ever at the Mayo Clinic to receive 4 leads in the brain for Parkinson's. He is a part of the National STUDY on Veterans exposure to Agent Orange. Merry Christmas to you and yours !!
The B-52 fly over was the best part of this whole video. I get tired of people singing the national anthem like they're auditioning for The Voice. I had to mute the sound and fast forward the video to get the B-52 part.
They sure do have there own sound I grew up in northern Maine close to Loring AFB watching these big bad boys flying past my house every day but Sunday at tree top level. They have a high screeching pitch kinda nerving really, I’d hate to hear one coming for me lol
I admire the patriotism. I do wish, though, that the Anthem was sung as one - rather than as an exercise in vocal athletics by a soloist. We too in the UK now endure this sort of over-the-top sound and I think it stops the audience properly joining in.
Steve Price I agree!! I hate it when these singers mess up the way it should be sung, adding over the top theatrics for applause. Sing it the way it’s intended! Ugh. 😂😂😂😂
Random black dude people who kneel are bitching. They’re showing disrespect to our leader, military and country. Idc what race you are but you have to have show some respect.
The kneeling extends well beyond black and white. I firmly believe there are a ton of proud, patriotic, black Americans. Black Americans who proudly serve whether its in the Armed Forces, LE, Fire, and EMS services. Its too sad there are too many liberals fueling the flames of division, and media doesnt help. We have got to figure the problems out. Everyone deserves respect, dignity, and problems such as poverty, economic opportunity, healthcare, and equal justice in the eyes of the law needs to be figured out. Respect of the constitution and federal laws (including immigration and drugs) is very important and that same rules should apply to all regardless of color and economic status. President Trump is right, the media and liberals manufacture this nonsense, both parties need to meet in the middle to establish common ground for the greater good of all.
I work with a bunch of people who recently have come over to the country to realize the American dream. Working out of the local Airport I watch these individuals with their mouths wide open as military planes of all types land. When you see an Osprey come in or Chinook I just say that's why we're number one. Welcome to America
Around1982, while standing in an open field, about 8 flew slow and low in a single file line at what seemed about 3 times tree top level. The first one had his side window open and I could easily see the pilot. The first two planes passed, the next three slowly banked to the North and the last three banked to the South. I was totalled amazed... I guess they were bombers from the SAC base in Blytheville Arkansas.
others like me, and my Father, imagine dozens of these flying over your head carpet bombing, had a great childhood. Vietnam if you still hadn't figured it out yet
This is a Copy of the 1995 World Cup rugby Final in South Africa when we won the cup. An SA Airways 747 surprised everyone by doing what I heard was the lowest pass ever from a civilian airliner. It felt like you could touch the plane!
A question to all you experts in here: Are there any other airplanes that could look like a B52 ( like Four engines and long narrow wings, that are able to glide slow and Sound-less quite low) over City areas... like, I Saw one here in Denmark five days ago, but didn’t get a picture.. but this is an area, that normally has no planes going over and no military as far as I know...
