Bonjour, nous sommes une association de pilotage virtuel qui construit ses propres simulateurs de vol. Depuis quelques années nous avons un cockpit complet 777 et nous présentons dans nos animations extérieures le travail en équipage dans un avion de ligne. Parce qu'une belle vidéo vaut mieux qu'un long discours, les vôtres nous permettent de mieux appréhender ce que vous faites dans votre bureau (le plus beau du monde n'est-ce pas ?), peaufiner notre maîtrise des procédures et surtout de les expliquer plus clairement à nos adhérents qui débutent. En conclusion, merci pour ces vidéos belles et instructives qui nous régalent. Bons vols à vous.

Love it! Another question for you if you don't mind :) Near the end of the video you say "Thrust ref, VNAV speed." What does that mean? Something about reducing from takeoff to climb thrust? Also "We are in climb 2" -- something similar about the thrust setting? Thank you for posting!

Thanks 🙏 THR REF VNAV SPD is the vertical modes that engage after takeoff for the climb, CLB 2 is a climb setting chosen by the aircraft that meet with all the climb constraints of the departure while preserving the engines with a soft power during climb

Merci c'est très sympa ! J'ai passé une bac S puis j'ai fait prépa maths physique (MPSI/MP) dans une prépa tout à fait standard et ensuite j'ai été pris aux cadets d'Air France. Accroche-toi, travaille dur et ne lâche rien, c'est un métier formidable 👍✈️

I do know that is is allowed to communicate in French with ATC when flying in French airspace, but would it not be safer for the situational awareness of other aircraft taxiing around you to always communicate in the English language?

Humm, as a french pilot I'm not sure to want that 😉 As you may know there're 6 languages used in civil aviation, English, Spanish, French since the beginning of ICAO in 1944, then Russian in 1971, Arabic in 1991 and Chinese in 1995. ICAO is a worldwide organization and multilingualism is one of its fundamental principle. I think that this question would have a real interest if accident statistics showed clearly that multilingualism in aviation is a true factor and we have especially to be sure that in case of only one language was used, it would clearly increase the safety in every countries where people are allowed to speak their mother tongue, which is not sure! It's an interesting question but I don't have the answer 😁
