Elliotte Friedman sits down with Mike Babcock to talk about the Maple Leafs in the playoffs, his assessment of himself after two years with the team, and if he wants to win the Jack Adams award.
Only just getting back into hockey again recently since the first lockout, and it's because of guy's like this and this amazing round of rookies all around the league. "I've been them, and I've been us, let's play." if you win the cup that line will go down in history my friend.
As a Leafs Fan I absolutely love Babcock. The grit he has, the seriousness he takes on everything, with the experience, keeping the rookies grounded to their game. Babcock is a million times better than that clown Carlyle.
Babcock is class act in the best sense of the meaning. Such a gritty coach who cares about his players and is genuinely teaching these kids to play the right way. He's such a humble guy and tells it like it is. I never hear a generic answer from him to a question. He's just real. These kids have won the lottery having him as their first NHL coach. No doubt about it, he WILL get this team to a Stanley Cup one day.
