acually amy tried getting in to the freedom fighters but sally said she was too young.She than made a wish on a magical Ring,turning her 12 but still had the mind of a 8 year old.She was still declined as a freedom fighter but was taken on 1 mission and was finally a freedom fighter

As a kid my parents bought me the comics now and then and in the comics it explained the whole thing with Amy. She stole a magic heirloom ring from Sonic that grants a wish to its wearer and she wished she could be older. It was weird.
