First video of 2023. Apologies that I missed my scheduled January upload. As I explain, life has been very hectic!
I am not a qualified flying instructor nor do I ever claim to be a very good pilot. I fly for fun and basically record for my own interest and review but upload because a number of people suggested that I should. I do try to edit for enjoyment and story telling and this means that some content is not always included.
Music - All from the RU-vid Sound Library
Camera:
Front facing and panel mounted - Go Pro Hero 4 filming at 4K wide @ 30fps - wide
Rear facing camera - Go Pro Hero 3+ filming at 1080 wide @ 30fps
Panasonic HC-V180
Sound Recording - Sony ICD-AX412F with a SAA40 (40db) Audio Attenuator
My headset is a Clarity Aloft
The video was produced on Cyberlink 365 (Power Director 19 and Cyberlink Audio Director 11)

Like many on here Tim, it’s great to see you back in the air again. I hope to see more vids before your op, but if not, I hope all goes well and you manage to get back into some sort of flying routine again 👌👏👏👏

Thank you Kev. I do appreciate the support. I need to get in a lot of flying (weather permitting) which should give me material to edit while I can not do much else!

Delighted to hear you are all well Tim, and at least the move and the decorating have been done... Though suspect you might need the paints and brushes for a while yet, well, if your wife is anything like mine. Must have been emotive during that final walk-through of both your and your dad's homes! Great to see you in the air :)

It was a lovely surprise to get a notification this morning that you’d uploaded a video. I was tempted to head straight to the bus stop to watch on the top deck of the 607, just like in those good ol’ days pre -lockdown. Unfortunately Friday is a work from home day and with both my wife & daughter both home too it’s taken far too long to get to watch. They don’t have the same appreciation of flying as I do :( Glad you’re back in the air and hope the stress of the house clearances, moves etc. weren’t too bad. I’m looking forward to seeing all the adventures you & John go on this year. Cheers Tim.

Rang the bell for ya...nice video ! Flying in England is a far cry from flying the Mojave desert in California ! I lived in Europe for about 20 yrs. and was quite happy, but never could fly there. We had oour C-140 in Ca. for the summer vacations and did our flying then. Currently living on the Rosamond Skypark L00 and retired. I fly a '49 Navion and try to get into the air as much as possible. Like you, we have our group of pilots and fly at least weekly to Breakfast at one the 10 or so airports within 100 mi., most of them closer. Our terrain is night and day to yours and makes for glorius vistas in the morning sun. All the Best to you and keep'em flying and I'll keep watching....Ron

Hi Tim, i was flying on the same day as yourself over Devon and haven't seen the pressure that high, very strange. Good luck with the hip. I have had both of mine done and what an amazing difference to the quality of my life. Getting up and down off the wing and into the cockpit is where i found the most stress on my hip so doing leg squats really helped.
@JodelFlyer
@JodelFlyer Год назад
Thank you for that. It is harder now to step up onto the wing and then to get into the cockpit.

@@JodelFlyer We still have boxes we haven't unpacked from our last move in 2016! By the way Tim, after much deliberation of the way forwards with my return to flying, I decided to go NPPL(M) via flexwing, then probably convert to 3 axis later. I took the plunge and have ordered a PeaBee, which I will put over to SSDR when I have my licence. 2023 should be a good year! Cheers Tim. 😁👍

Cheers Tim.

Great to see you aloft again. Leaving a house when it is empty is weird isn't it, especially after so long. When you have your hip done, try to do physio asap. My mother broke her leg last year and 'resting' it really weakened her. It was fun to hear the Spitifire on frequency. When I first heard him I thought "He's wearing a mask, wonder what he's flying".
@JodelFlyer
@JodelFlyer Год назад
Thank you. It was very strange to see the old house empty after so many years and included it as a memory reminder for myself and the children. I did edit some of the ‘stand by’ time out that the Spitfire had to wait for his call back! He must have travelled quite a long way in that time.

Hi Tim, good to see you in the air again! Question about the takeoff: if you’d been 2 pob would you still have taken off or would the extra weight have taken you too far down the hill, given that you were airborne at the crest? I’ve still got your book by the way! Dusty in for annual now but back soon I hope.
@JodelFlyer
@JodelFlyer Год назад
Thanks for watching Charlie. In those conditions I would have taken off with a passenger. It would have meant going down the hill further which is unnerving for some. I had a BFR yesterday and had to drop towards the hedge for a while. The big advantage is that you should then be landing into wind when you get back.
