glassy bead thing looks like what was called a cats eye. they used to be in rubber mounts in the middle of the road would shine very bright with reflection from headlights.
I can’t wait to see what you find! Omigosh, the friendly banter between you all cracks me up, so much like when I’m with friends! Your channel growth is fun to watch too!
Congrats on the 20k! I’ve been watching the number of subscriptions climb steadily, but I am not surprised. I really like watching you dig in the field with friends. I feel like I’m almost there. 🥰💕❤️👍❤
Smashing video, just came across your channel after a quick wee Google search, Im from Perthshire myself and have just started metal detecting. Look forward to the next video!
What a fun video and poor Marty, I felt his pressure with you giving him a hard time and knowing nearly 20k people will watch him dig a hole! 😂😂 Also had a picture in my head from your commentary of people sat in a field eating strawberries, while drinking whiskey and energy drinks!
At 20.10 thats called a cats eye. Used to be used on the roads to guide cars on the roadway before we had lane painting. They would light up in headlamps and guide lanes.
Love the banter, love comradeship and the genuine friendship. I enjoy all your videos but to see the mateship between you all was as special as you finding Roman silver.
Yep that's a cats eye road marker, heard they were invented by chap who was saved from driving off a cliff in the dark when his headlights reflected off a cats eyes
The small glass piece you found ( eye of saron) is an old reflector that would of been in the middle of the road, it would of been mounted in a rubber housing and mounted in the road between the white lines,
@22:30 the hawk has ‘Plumed’ its prey before eating it. 👍👏👏 Congratulations on the new permission, but that also means you’ve got a lot of shyte to go through, to get to the treasures. 😉🥃🥃. Seems to be the same up there as it is downunda, that it’s hard to get good help these days.😏🤣🤣🤣
Another great video as always John always nice to see a cartwheel come up and 2 I'm one session is unbelievable!! Still on my bucket list!! Well done lads thanks for sharing 👍
Enjoyed the video you guys do make a good team detecting and entertaining. Loved the reference to the i am a lumber jack song havnt heard that in a long while 😀
22:00 loks like a budgies bell or maybe a bell from a horse's harness. I can remember the cats eyes still in use in the seventies possibly later than that.
From your first visit here, that hill thing struck me as looking very round barrowish, and then you mention Bronze Age local references which made me even more curious. By the way, the Royal Artillery badge, (the one with the field gun) is actually an officer's pouch badge (too big for a cap).
Hello John, Alban here , the strange metal bead at 12min 30 sec my be à meteorite, smal one . The shape of it macke me thing about that cause i have show one before , greating from 🇨🇭
third or so from the finish was a hinge that looks to be from an old folding wood ruler... good vid and having minions (Marty and Albert) always makes it interesting. Even on a not so great day (bunches of aluminum) you guys still find good stuff. Nice Work by all. Thank You.
How many detectorists does it take to dig a hole? But what fun to share your day with good friends. Humor surely makes the Bull finds so much easier to swallow.
I am sure that by your next video, you will be above 20K followers. Congratulations! Well deserved as you have a first rate channel. The numbers don't lie. Great to see your interactions with your fellow diggers in this video.
Howdy John! I think your 2nd to last find could be from an old folding ruler. I’ve found a couple of them here in Pennsylvania and they’re nearly identical to yours. Cheers and CONGRATULATIONS on how fast your channel is growing! 👍🏻🍺🍺👍🏻
I think you've found a bit of a modern day relic there John with the cats eye and if you look around I don't think they're inserting many in new roads these days, great video luv the banter.
The mini-Sauron item looks a lot like the reflective buttons on highway signs from the mid 50’s to the mid 70s here in the US. The buttons were placed in the lines of letters/numbers which were painted in reflective paint. It may not translate to Scotland however.
