I’ve experienced that same phenomenon where it feels like the rest causes the pain, and then lifting makes it go away. Interesting insight.

4 years ago I switched from construction to an office job and resumed lifting after a couple decades off. I was ok strong because of the construction trade but had chronic low back pain from it. My DL at the time was 405ish. Now, at 52, I'm pain free and DL is at 575. No drugs, no TRT. Just consistent, patient, heavy lifting.

I used to not deadlift because I thought my back was too weak. Turns out my back was too weak because I wasn't deadlifting.

So many times as a 46 year old woman I get into the gym and my knees hurt or my hip hurts and I am like HELL NO I can't do this today but I get warmed up and that bar moves.

Can you speak about spondylolysis and lifting, mostly lowbar squat and DL.

My back was hurting and I started doing heavy deadlifts and squsts and it went away

Wait wait, how fast were you running that you puked after only 3 miles? Does your mom still run? Do you run regularly with your mom? I'm not a fast runner but I am a long distance runner. But I'm nowhere near strong but I do enjoy doing the lifts with my body weight or slightly more.
