Yeah, there’s another saying, now I’m not going to be able to do it justice. About how the fortunate, blessed, and beautiful know not the pain of their counterparts. And about walking a mile in another’s shoes. The stuck up elf is only trying to save her own skin( but we already knew that).
To be fair, not even sora truly understands the nature of his power at this point. It can't be helped that she has no clue. All she knows is that he is different in more than just his temperment. He is justifiably angry and she is the only one who truly understands the magnitude of what they did.
@@Kos4Evr true he may not understand the exact nature of his power but he grew up among a clan of the the strongest meant to guard the demon gate. So he knows enough to understand the nature of power and how to wield it at least. But honestly I’d be pissed too. And with an awakening this fresh it would be hard to keep an even keel under normal circumstances let alone these. And the elf is trying to save her own skin and hopefully her friends because she can sense the change not only in his demeanor, magic and personality. When he was powerless they stomped all over him then used him as bait and I he’s done taking it. They’re lucky he has enough sense to not lash out and seems to be willing to play the long game for his revenge.
"Wise" elf my ass. He told her "look in a mirror" then she immediately questions how/why he became so angry at them? Yeesh. Heres the thing too, thats not bad writing, thats how tons of people ACTUALLY think and act. They blame the victim for being a victim.
She is not questioning his logic or reasoning. She is questioning what has transformed him from what he was before to what he is now. It isn't the betrayal that transformed his existence but the bear death experience that awakened his new powers. She knows that he has every reason to hate them but she alone senses the real change within him.
@@Kos4Evr That is true, but I feel that if she sense a dragon like spirit coming out from him together with his own sense of rage for the betrayal he faced from their side, then wouldn't this so called dragon like spirit and his rage for the betrayal have some connection? Even if she doesn't fully understand what kind of connection he and this dragon like spirit have with each other she really should ask herself what happened in the time between him being captured by the lord of the flies and flied to the nest where she knows that all victims are suffering a slow agonizing death and was tortured to death drowned in his own hatred and rage for the betrayal by their hands and when he escaped from the place with for them unknown reason from their point of view. I understand that she at first believed he was possessed by the dragon like spirit, but then figured that he was truly sora and proclaim that she doesn't understand how he could have becomed like this means that she either have somehow forgotten how he was treated by some of the party members or she is willfully ignorant of her party's actions and treatment towards him in this case him being attacked and cruelly used as a bait to save the leader of her party by the female magician which I don't know what option is the worst.
34:31 This is actually pretty high level writing. The debate on if the sword changed him or if that was his true nature. The whole court case and the debate and logical examples. I'm liking this as more than the normal revenge fantasy BS!
Well if you want to spoiler Basically people in that island that has awaken their ability similar to bleach bankai uses a power called anima it’s basically their dark side that they master to control that’s why all his family members were so rude to him it’s their anima side doing the talking MC s power was the soul eater which is probably the most powerful the reason he couldn’t lvl up was because basically he’s trying to fill in an exp point of a dragon the only way to awaken that dragon was pure hatred calling for revenge..
I really wish he mentioned what his power and the fact that yes he did die but luckily his power triggered to save his life and he only manage the keep living out of pure spite and hatred. Explain to them that he's been eating alive and in revived would probably put things into perspectives but they would all make excuses.
What’s weird is because of his lvl skill he barely lvls up because he isn’t classified as human but as a dragon so even if he lvl 5 he can beat lvl 20 adventurers
What caused him to become like that? Everyone, including his would-be friends, betrayed him and even tried to get him eaten. He could let go of the pain when his actual life wasn't on the line, then he was literally devoured from the outside in.
This is actually well written so far. The points he's making are logical. I can understand where he's coming from and empathize. I would probably come to similar conclusions if I were in his situation. The trope of a betrayed MC, on a path of vengeance has been overused, but this approach feels like a breath of fresh air. Some characters are actually deep, and capable of self reflection. And MC has a spine. I'm liking this
Same. Though while I empathize with his desire for vengeance I first think what he needs to deal with is the dragon that’s semi possessing him. It’s entirely possible that his desire to kill them as revenge isn’t his own wants. What’s the point of revenge if it’s not you directly dealing with it. Also I feel death in this situation would be a complete waist since he would be depriving the town of valuable protection. Also I can understand why she did what she did, when your adrenaline is flowing and you’re on deaths door you’ll do anything to survive or save the people close to you. Doesn’t make what they did right which is why i still believe he deserves to get revenge but I also remember his life’s goal is to protect others and if he was him self I don’t doubt he could see past his revenge to the inevitable consequences. All in all I think there more going on here than a simple desire for revenge
@@wyatthermens2866one it is his own desire, two the dragon is a manifestation of his power not a creature possessing him. Third killing them would not deprive the town of protection because these are the types of people who would flee if an actual threat showed up. We know this because, the lord of flies was said to be a threat big enough to warrent sending multiple high level people after it. And we all saw them use the mc to save their own skins. Probably the best part is, he gave them an out he tried the civil way of dealing with it. And it proved the guild was vile and corrupt, given how much they fought his demands. This has happened before, and they managed to bully the victim into submission, which is why they're doing it again. Thinking he'll roll over and give up, as soon as he left they started talking, about how they could further use him. So yeah theres only way this could actually go, after giving them a chance to redeem themselves, and they spat in his eye.
The Revenge of the Soul Eater Hangyaku no Soul Eater This covers chapters 1-10, the Raw sites I found also only have 10 chapters with the last being uploaded in December it might be axxed, check the novel if you like it.
Probably not axed, but just extreeemly slow. I've seen that story a few years ago, it was up to a point in the guild where the negoatians "begin", so yeaah
@@Shonicheck Hopefully you're right cause I would like more. On MangaDex Chap 10 is tagged as 'End' and Cancelled, on the Raw site it's tagged as 'Completed', I didn't do any digging past that.
OMG this is so good it is just too bad that what we see here is the whole thing and that it never went any farther, it has great art work and a great story.
That's why he calls her a hypocrite. She acts out of her self interest to save her skin while lacking an insight into what they did is something horrible.
@@TwilightMysts Yeah the translation is way behind. It’s only up to chapter 136. And on the RNEU it says last updated October 2023. Hopefully someone picks it back up where they left off. I’m tempted to take a Japanese language course so this is no longer an issue for me.
Sora doesn't really need to attack the guild, just left officially, level up solo, and clear the dungeons alone (or with his own team), each of his successes is psychological torture for them, and their failures is a humiliation and a cold argument of their incompetence!
Just go to the church and speak to a bishop or go to the king who has authority over any business or guild in his kingdom. Level doesn't mean Jack when a church sanctioned inquisitor is sent with his terrifying personal guards.
Honestly given his current power he could starve out the guild, by simply hunting all the monster gathering as the herbs, and clearing dungeons before anyone else could, and since he was kicked from the guild. He is not obligated to share any of it, and in the process he could level up, beyond everyone in that city. Not only would the guild starve out but the entire town as well.
The hell you mean by "what happened". you all threw him in a death trap, thats what happened. You'd want your heads on stakes too dammit. Glad to see this got an update.
I like this dark story, I like main dude SORA, he starts out struggling, then gains creepy powers, is smart, & responsible, and so I hope a Part#2 gets made.
Why did he become like that? Oh, I don't know... Betrayal, being left to die, everyone trying to cover up the incident including the guild. Take your pick. And this isn't even including the crap with his own family either. But for someone "Wise", they sure as hell look "dumb".
To be fair, only 1 member of the party hated him. 2 were indifferent and 1 actually liked him. What he sees and what we see is the truth, but not the entire truth.
@@Kos4Evr Yeah but it basically says along the lines of "She hasnt changed he attitude towards me but hes overheard their conversation about how it was her who initially started calling him parasite" and unless hes telling lies to himself for some reason, all the proof points to her doing it.
@@SuperMuffinNinja0that or it was a rumor that he overheard or very easily could have misinterpreted a conversation he wasn’t apart of and wasn’t there for the whole thing. It’s not that hard to believe especially after going what he has gone through
cool story. there's at least a dozen of these "betrayed by the party" clones, but this is the first I have seen that the MC wants to actively hunt for revenge.
I think it’s a bit deeper then that. His life’s goal has always been to save people. Even after he was kicked from the party, lost his standing with the guild, and was nearing death he still had that conviction. The difference was that he went from wanting to be the hero who saved them to someone who would provide life saving medicine. After he is survived the nest he instinctively almost kills a helpless girl for her soul and horn but stops himself realizing that something was wrong with him. I have a hunch that it’s the dragon that’s semi possessing him that is the one who truly wants the party to suffer. Though I have no doubt that ether way he would want revenge I think that the old him could look at the big picture and realize that if he kills them then the town would loose valuable protection and would probably have taken the first offer of the money for the demon slaying quest. I honestly think this story would be more interesting if Instead of a straightforward revenge plot it showed the dragon taking over more and more of him and the party being the one to bring him back, realizing there mistakes along the way as they try desperately to write there wrongs
i am kind of confused bro was fighting with them for a long time and killing countless monsters and yet they think he is weak just because his rank isn’t improving it’s like trying to mess with someone for being level 1 in fortnite when the levels get reset every season it doesn’t really make any sense to me if i was him i wouldn’t even bother joining a party just go out on my own and get super powerful while ignoring everyone
I need to see the end of this story but from what I found it was cancelled and (somewhat recently) restarted...guess it is gonna take a while but I hope that this time it goes to the end, really fun story for sure
The nice are abused until they have enough, the nicest people can become incredibly ruthless it's a coin flip away with just the choice being made by the person who has been abused deciding to stop being strong for once after realizing that nothing is going their way despite doing what they were told was right. Nice people are predisposed to being adverse to hurting others until they've been made into a greatly wounded animal either emotionally, psychologically or physically by anyone.
I don’t think the party should get away with what they did and I do think he deserves his revenge but I’m more interested in the dragon semi possessing him. What’s the point of revenge if it’s not you who’s doing it. Besides death isn’t always the best revenge, personally I think the party should have to experience what he went through but with a type of magic that won’t kill then but will make them feel his pain and fear in those moments, something like memory sharing magic. I understand the guilds stance on it as they need strong members to keep the people safe and I definitely understand his desire for revenge but I still just think killing then would be a waist especially when it might not even be “him” who wants them dead
So anyone who is wondering why there is only ten chapters from what I’ve seen there was a dispute in Japan for the right to “soul eater” and until the dispute is solved there will most likely be no more chapters
It got axed as this was supposed to be a promotional thing, but they said they were gonna do another called Rebellion of the soul eater which is the the exacr same story but have yet to do it
Don't get your hopes up. It was axed and this is also as good as it gets after anyway. It just turns to complete shit despite how good this started off. Not even any revenge either, they literally just all become shells of thier former selves who work with him and have no character anymore. He didn't do anything to them or anything like that, they just follow along with him and get no screentime or character interactions, nothing.
No more, sorry, this one ended since it was an ad for the light novel. They've promised a redux of it sometime, but it's years on and it still hasn't happened
Revenge of the soul eater Or Rebellion of the soul eater It appears under both names. Also the original run was cancelled for reasons but a 2nd run is planned.
Grrrrr 🤬🤬 god dammit why they never show when he gets revenge I wanted him to kill all 3 especially the mage girl but no it got cancel for some reason it pissis me off that I'm mad 😡
This starts bad, but it gets better not long after. MC is quite annoying at the begnning, but once he unlock and start to master his power, his personality takes a 180º change, becoming a much more cooler and rational character. And the revenge part isn't bad. Once he get his hand on the mage girl, he will break her thoroughly.
@@Le7emeChat Uuummm... no, no, no, he does not kill them, he makes them his b*tches, like, literally speaking... hahahaha... He will screw the mage girl head so much that she even will, willingly, betray her party members for him, helping him making the elf girl his slave (and the next of his b*tches).
Really dig this story and that elf doing what she did begging for her life instead of being truly sorry for what they did just shows how shitty people are in this story they deserve no mercy but im sure hell give it in some effed up way as the stories tend to do
Revenge of the soul eater is cancelled. There is Japanese remake, but no translations past given 10 chapters whicb you see here as well. So no more continue.
Oh you knew it was too late to try and say sorry now, so you may as well just prepare yourself for the inevitable. He should've pointed out that he knew that she was the first one to call him a parasite.
An actual good story got cancelled probably there wasn't a powerful strong female character in the story, that seems the only thing being put out these days.
Plot twist: Sora found the demon sword soul edge which corrupted him and turned him into nightmare the azure knight and killed all those who betrayed him, including the guild receptionist. The elf Luna regrets her actions but it's far too late. He will have his vengeance
