As someone from germany that basically has to rely on breeders for buying ferrets this helped a lot! Also happy to see that most breeders near me seem to be on the "good breeder" list. Loved this vid. As always🥰❤
I’m buying my 2 little babies in 2 weeks of of someone who was gonna abandon them . It’s so sad how people just buy ferrets because they look ‘cute’ it really does make me sick to the stomach.
I bought my ferrets from a backward breeder, he breeds working ferrets so I trusted that he would breed for health - all of them were either polecat coloured or albino (I think two of the kits were albino). He fed them raw, let me visit his home and hold them etc so I believed him that he cared for them and where they ended up.. Knowing now that reputable breeders will provide vet documents is what's giving me a big red flag for this guy now, I've only had my kits for a day but I'm definitely going to book a check up asap for them to make sure they're okay Thank you for all of the amazing info in your videos, it's been a huge help in this first day ! I love my little idiot socks so I really want the best for them
As a ferret breeder I can tell you if you're doing it properly you do NOT make a profit!!!!! I LOOSE money every single litter I have. Trust me, if you're trying to make a profit, ferret breeding isn't for you lol
@@Pazuandfriends they can be. My smallest litter was 2 and my biggest was 11. Average is 6-8 kits. Fun fact though, Jill's don't always have the same amount of nipples as each other, they can have between 4-9 nipples so it's hard when they have big litters having to rotate feed them.
One of my ferrets was a Backyard breeder’s breeding female. She is stunted and is easily scared. I’m so happy she got out of that situation. Her past bonded ferret died because of this situation. Backyard breeders are disgusting
I got a sick kit for Christmas and had to get him out down 1 and a half days later because there was something wrong with his back. It was the best Christmas and the worst Christmas at the same time and I was so excited to be finally getting a ferret
This isn’t about Breeders but do you know of any websites or places to get complete grinds to feed ferrets? I may be getting a ferret this year and i just want to make sure I have everything prepared. Ily ❤️
I hate seeing any animal in a tiny cage. Especially ones that sit and have litter after litter and have no other existence. Makes me so angry, but so sad. I wish I could save them all. 😭😭😭
Hopefully one day we won’t have to worry about such horrible people torturing animals for money... These are creatures with feelings and understand complex emotions like sadness, pain, joy, etc and it’s truly the most disgusting thing on earth to treat them like they are toys in a factory.
Could you do a video on U.K. ferret kibbles and how bad they are? Every breeder I see here in England says they feed James wellbeloved ferret food but it was 26% WHEAT in it. All the kibble here is so so so bad. And if you wanted examples of backyard ferret breeders just look at pets4homes (free U.K. pet advertising site) and the ferret section. Literally bred in the owners garden. It’s just as bad as Marshall’s ferrets here in England 😔
So question. I'm in ferret group, and the admins say ferrets absolutely cannot be shipped. What does a person do when there are no reputable breeders in the area, and none available for adoption in the area?

Animal mills are not the same as backyard breeders. These terms are used incorrectly I feel. Because backyard breeders can be responsible breeders but are not doing it above board. You can also consider a accidental Litter a backyard breeder. Does that make them bad cruel people? I don't think so.
Leymarie Montenegro dogs can be hit and miss. I recommend not mainly because it’s so easy for a dog to hurt a ferret while playing. They can accidentally step on them and now you have a ferret with a broken back. The only animals good for a ferret to play with is another ferret.

[Mod] the grinds must follow the 80/10/10 model. Make sure you check out the balanced grinds section, there are some they are just muscle meat ground up :)
It’s sad to say some of the you tuber who have milllions opon millions of followers are disgusting breeders and some just flat out don’t care and flaunt it and it’s sad that people aren’t educated and don’t know what to look for in all types of animals.
