Welcome my little Southern California garden. It's early October and almost the end of Wax Apple/Jambu season for me. Today I want to share with you the four Varieties of Wax Apple growing in my garden. I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you for watching and see you next time!

Yes I think it will do well in green house. I have seen someone in Idaho grow it in green house. Best wishes!

Mine looks like your black diamond. It was already here when I moved in so I don't know what its supposed to be. It tastes sweet to me, no seeds, better than any i've tasted before. I've never had one that has a strong sugar sweet taste yet so I don't know how to compare. But I love sugarcane so now I might have to get the Perfume Jumo one.

Just got a Thai jumbo from Mimosa Nursery! Where did you get the short red variety? Also, in Southern California where I live there’s sometimes frost, what would you recommend doing to prevent damage? Love your videos!!!!

I got my short red at Ongnursery in SD. Grow the tree near a south facing wall if possible. You may need to cover it with nursery fabric too. Thank you and would love to know what your Thai jumbo fruit look like!

Thankyou sister for sharing with us wow you have different varieties of rose apple in your garden, iv just got one from abroad to the UK just getting the plant use to the climate first its the yellow variety I got also I am rooting some cuttings in the UK given from someone from Sir Lanka but don't know yet which variety it is properly, but it is possible to root them in winter time iv done it, now am trying to get a sugar apple cutting from the same person but the purple one not the green one know as rose sugar apple see if I could root that in the UK aswel 😊

The sugar apple cutting: I have heard is very hard to root. Usually, it's used for grafting. If you can get seeds they will fruit in 3-4 years. You can use seedlings as young as 1 year for grafting. I would love to see that rose sugar apple :). For the Rose/wax apple just make sure it is in a warm area. Re-cut the end so the cutting can absorb water better. A heating mat helps a lot in the wintertime for rooting or sprouting new seeds . Best wishes!

I have to say the Perfume is the sweetest of the four varieties I have but much denser. I wish I can combine Short Red and perfume together :).

How long does it take a tree to fruit? Mine is tree years-old, but I have no fruits. It’s Avery healthy looking tree.

👋 is your plan air layered? The first couple of years, mine didn’t produce much fruit and grew like crazy. I realized that if I trim back the tree in spring, the tree put out lots of flowers. I also add bloom booster every two weeks from early spring. Good luck!

The perfume has a very unique taste compared to the other three and sweet. I really like the short red, it’s sweeter as it gets older.

Hi! The Perfume Wax Apple is sweetest but it's very dense and seedy. I prefer the Short Red, sweet, crunchy, and fewer seeds :). Least favorite is Black Diamond.
