I’m 73 and don't have a lot of time to f*^k with tuning and other subtleties. I can race for only about 1 to 2 hour and then the arthritis burns and aches. I agree that PC3 has faults, what sim doesn't? The championship system is quirky, but you can skip races you don’t like. Avoid the canned races altogether, as you can drive all the cars in the sim without following the pre-scripted racing events. You just go to Custom Race and set up your race using any car and any track in the sim. I've been sim racing since Pole Position in the early 80's and have driven lots of arcade-style games. I also drive PC2, AMS2, RaceRoom, rFactor2, etc, but I must say that I have the most fun with this admittedly flawed sim. The races are challenging, the AI is good, making me fight for every position over and over again if I make the slightest mistake. You bet, the name just stinks; Project Cars, HUH! Anything other than “3” would have been better. But don't let that throw you off. This is a fun game for the casual racer and anyone that just wants to jump in and have a fun shootout in your choice of car and track.
Starting to like it more. The stupid acrade nosie with crash effect seems to only happen in career. I avoid the career and just do custom races, I kinda like it now.
@@stormkat4936 Now another thing I don't like. Just set up my thrustmaster TMX wheel. Use to use it with PC2 and it worked great. PC3 it's terrible. I have to turn my wheel so much to make a small turn, it's almost undrivable using the wheel. I don't see a steering sensitivity setting like PC2. Guess I'm back to PC2. Anyone else have this problem?
so that you in races back n forth are gaining nothing huw much you fight for it means nothing to you , your getting passed by another driver and cant no matter how you try even get close to catch up with him to win , even tho you hade the lead at first , and that the amount of brake you have to do in sharp curves the opponents only have to brake 1 second to go through those sharp curves , and that you dont win any cars as reward for being a champ in a whole serie , and too that the others on the tarck can handle their cars and execute the most unrealistic moves with their cars , all that dont bother you one bit ?
There are corner markers, three for each corner in fact. One showing the ideal braking point, one showing the apex and one for the ideal exit point. On professional they are disabled by default (they probably thought you would ether not start on a higher "difficulty" or would have the common sense of glancing at the mini-map (which doesn't get disabled) to know if a sharp corner was coming). Also there are no big water puddles anymore (unlike in Project Cars 2), just the entire track turns a bit more slippery.
The funny thing is, pCars 3 is for racers who do not like pitstops and tire wear, but wait, Forza Horizon is dominating the racing scene, and has much more to offer, pCars 3 is a racing game striped down to the bones of bare minimum what a racing game should have. In my book, pcars 3 is a very bad game. It has removed any user options other racing games have as standard. Even replays, was not in the game, do not know if they have patched it in, but a simple thing as the option to se the race as replay should be a standard in any racing title.
Somebody obviously didn't play NFS Shift Unleashed 2. For which this game is a spiritual successor (same devs), although I would argue Shift 2 is vastly superior to this one (or any racing game in terms of sense of speed, well maybe Driveclub is a close one). PC3 was a mess at launch but is very decent now. For an arcade racer on controller. I agree though, should not have called it Project Cars 3.
It's very simple - If you want one of the best VR racing games that will give you the feeling of playing the next version of Sega GT, of a semi sim though skewed more on sim Ridge Racer or even semi-sim Initial-D combined, you must buy this game and make sure you put your favourite adrenaline-filled arcade music in the background. This game was MADE for VR for it plays very well and it's exciting in VR mode. Playing this game without VR can, unfortunately, feel like a bore, especially as the game is too scaled back compared to alternatives out there, especially on the console's side. So yes, get this game promptly if you want a great VR experience. Heh, this game should have been called, "Project Cars: Racers" so everyone would have had a better expectation of the game. It would also have given the dev to continue branching in another direction while continually giving the series the sim community want, the Forza Horizon of project cars, so to say. If you want the best Sim racing game because all you care about is sim then do not purchase this game because there are better alternatives.
I just picked it up on sale. One thing I hate is a stupid red crash effect and weird noise in cockpit view. Did you trun this off, is there a way to remove this? Always liked PC 2. Thanks
I exlusively play Project cars 2 on my VR racing sim. So If they don't make Project cars 4 good again, then I'll be getting the AC sequel instead. But, where is drive club 2?
