Kyrie is still being paid for away games so basically the Nets deciding not even let him play those games but pay him for them is kind of absurd. There's even more stupidity from the State of NY because the law in place says that an unvaccinated player from another team can play at Barkley's but since Kyrie actually plays for the Nets he can't play. Try to make sense out of that.

That has nothing to do with the State of NY. The commerce clause in the Constitution specifically prohibits NY from not allowing unvaxxed players from other teams to play. They have no choice.

I live in NY. many bars and restaurants IN NYC don’t care about vaccine status as it would result in less business, these big names such as NBA have to “follow” the rules for show, guarantee you a large portion of the fans at MSG are NOT vaccinated, you just need a fake vaccine card. that’s it.

What's wrong with playing Kyrie as much as possible in the regular season? Even if it's only for away games, the Nets should be focused on getting Kyrie Irving prepped as much as possible for the playoffs. The last minute suggestion of Russ for Kyrie is funny as it'd be OKC East now with Russ the backup and Harden the starter, but it'd be terrible. Kyrie is younger, is at least capable of playing good defense, is a vastly superior finisher and shooter and also we've seen KD and Russ together. @@______9484 It's not even close to the same situation. Kawhi played in the majority of the Raptor's games, home and away games. Kawhi was at all of the games he did not play in. Last but not least. Kawhi has a totally different mentality than Kyrie. Kyrie will show up and play when he feels mentally ready to play and will not give an advance notice, when does not want to play. Kyrie is a very important piece to the Nets championship hopes, if he decides he does not want to play without notice can disrupt the chemistry. Also, play in away games only will further throw off the team chemistry.
