Love this review although as most people have rightly said the 955i isnt 125 bho its 104/105 bhp. Here we are in February 2024 and ive just had a 2001 Honda Blackbird for 18 months which has tons of power but a bit cramped for me aged 56 and im over 2 metres tall,so just today got myself a green 2001 955i.Very fast, comfy and handles great.
I've had mine for a year with absolutely no hiccups. Bought it during thunder beach in PC. I just put an after market exhaust on it to wake it up! Wow Im still impressed with the sound. sounds like a true rocket lol I love this bike if I could go back I'd buy it again.
A late friend of mine had a Sprint 955i that I got to ride a few times. Those motors are a hoot! I was so impressed with its low end grunt and unique exhaust note that I decided to get myself a Speed Triple last spring.
I had a Speed Triple for a while and I absolutely loved it. As I've stopped riding sportbikes for commuting, and I'm looking for more comfortable, practical bikes, this Tiger really shines. What great personality!
@@ClevelandMoto I just turned 40 and I'm hoping my knees can put up with the riding position for a while. It's a little more tucked in than my old GS750, but nothing too bad so far. I'm just happy that I don't have to constantly futz around with carburetors anymore, plus I can perform diagnostics with my phone and an adapter cable!
i finally got a 955i 18months ago. what a joy. i've never really had an opportunity to give mine the full berries through the gears - but it's enough to get my pacemaker going turbo. i also love that it will run top gear at 30mph and pull clean and strong from that speed - makes for very easy lazy riding. i have ridden quite a few bikes but 955i tiger is streets ahead - i'm lovin it
955i has 103hp not 125. Please do some decent research before the review 🙏. Nevertheless it's an excellent bike and to me it's the best mega on-off bike ever created. Very, very reliable quality, and strong enough to take you anywhere 👏 👌 👍. You can literally travel all around the world without being worried about issues, simple and powerful. This bike is a freaking beast, it will never let you down as long as you care for it.
I got the 125 hp number directly from Triumph's website. That's where I get all my stats / specs. If the company wants to lie, that's on them. And yes, the Tiger is a fierce motorcycle.
I have one..love it except the fittings on the fuel tank..they are made of aluminum and the fuel rotted out 4 of 6..also the plastic fittings break..replace them with steel..still trying to figure out how I'm going to fix the aluminum fittings because I haven't exactly figured out how to re-tap the broken fittings..
Triumph named that color lucifer red I wanted one so bad till found out. I had a 2001 in black beauty and beautiful it was. I now have a 2006 with silver and that is one great touring and just everyday riding but I ain't buying anything with the name lucifer on it lucky they come in other colors. Tony the tiger orange my ass.
125hp?????? Crap! I had one - I remapped it - customised it but it never had more than 100bhp. I had a Aprilia Mille before and that only had 120hp. It’s a brilliant bike though for rough back roads and touring. I’m 5ft6in ... and it’s pretty tall
I always take the HP numbers from the manufacturers website. We know they lie, but I don't want anyone to say I do. Working on motorcycles for well over 20 years I can assure you that the operator can make a Dyno lean either way up to about 20%. I always take Dyno readings with a grain of salt, just like how speedo's can be off 10%
