This is the upgraded version of the 2.0 tactical hoodie from Baerskin. The new version is a tremendous jump in upgrades and you should definitely check it out!
Honest review for Six footers; I ordered the 3.0 black in 2X. Took 3 weeks to come in!!! What the hell takes 3 Weeks anymore!! Looks good when I got it, but I can tell they do NOT love the tall man. My wife asked me if I was goin for the halter top look... the sleeves are short and my arm are not overly long for my frame. If I reach up with both my arms, you would see that this is not the hoodie for you. IMO, leave it for the little guys, Bearskin is aiming for the middle - do you really want an s-load of pockets??? Bruh.
Its "windproof" properties are not that good. After I bought it, I had it on in gusts of only 15-20mph with a temperature of 43°F and I could feel the wind on my back. It might be OK for anything under 15mph.
Just ordered this… I do a lot of outdoor hiking and camping. I’m hoping tactical hoodie does the job. Appreciate the review on the hoodie. BTW… I just subscribed to your channel.
Had one for Christmas. Pockets galore! Wore it inside whilst running a few errands and it got me sweating so gives me high hopes for UK winter dog walks!
How are your high dog-walking hopes going in all the recent UK rain Mike? I assume you too have found you really do need a water and wind-proof outer layer on top of your 3.0 by which time things are getting pretty bulky and cumbersome. I’ve got to the point of thinking my 3.0 is really comfy indoors but an impractical disaster in the great outdoors - Scotland in my case. It seems crazy! I’m left feeling an absolute TWAT for falling for Baerskin’s advertising hype.
@@charlienairn783 definitely finding it very bulky and cumbersome with the extra layer. It’s bloody bitter out there right now here in Bristol, must be a lot worse where you are though!
@@mikewilcox ‘Pockets galore’ is true. So I thought that sounded good but in reality I find all those f-ing pockets a pain in the *rse. I can never remember what I’ve put where and because some of the main pockets are back-to-back inside/outside the “pat” test doesn’t work. After some months, all-in-all I like the whole cumbersome Baerskin thing less-and-less by the day. And more-and-more I can understand the entirely-happy reviewer who said he’d now bought two Baerskin 3s, one to wear around the house by day and a second to wear in bed at night. Now THAT makes sense to me!
I based my purchase on your info I made a order mistake and no one answers the phone. There is no customer service Do you have a phone number. There are three options, 2 don't have anyone, just a recording
Waterproof and windproof too. Neither of which the Baerskin 3.0 is - not even remotely! In wet Northern European climates it’s only useful indoors. Outdoors it needs a wind-and-waterproof layer on top if you’ve got one big enough - by which time it becomes a cumbersome, clumsy and impractical NIGHTMARE.
How long did it take you to receive your item? I ordered a little over a week ago and am a little worried it may have been a spoof site. I have a tracking number from China. I’m hoping it’s legit but also paid with a source I can easily get refunded with and choose a payment plan option as a backup.
I ordered mine, and it took 11 days to be delivered, it was the wrong size so they got back to me in good time. I ordered the larger size and sent back the other one at my cost. now, I'm just waiting for a refund and the deliverey.
This looks great! Ordered mine two weeks ago and still waiting. Tracking is silly because it tells you only that it’s gone from one non specific location to the next non specific location. For such a great item you’d think they’d be better with getting you your purchase. 🤷♀️
I was close to pulling the trigger on one of these, especially after hearing about the rain jacket version. Super glad for the few reviews I have found. The customer comments about the quality of the product and the standard of service delivered by the company sealed the deal for me. Hard pass.
Hi there, we are sad to hear that you got that impression about our company. We would like to clarify that we develop our outdoor garments with only the best quality materials, and we are committed to continuously improving our products based on previous customer feedback. Furthermore, rest assured that we are continuously improving our communications and processes so we can provide better service to our customers. We hope you give our store a chance soon. Best,
If it does it doesn't work! It's got VERY poor water-resistance compared to my faithful (and better) old North Face and Berghaus fleeces. I hadn't understood this and for Highland Scotland it's therefore pretty-much useless! Nor is it windproof-enough. Which in Scotland means you almost-always need an outer skin, by which time things are getting pretty bulky and inconvenient.
I contacted them and told them that some of you were having a hard time getting through to customer service. They are there and ready for any questions or concerns that you may have about your hoodie. Hope this helps
The plastic on the wrist should be replaced with the same kind of elastic strap they have in the hood, and around the waist I was wearing mine today, went to scratch my forehead and stuck the plastic thing in my eye because I didn’t know that it was not stuck to the Velcro.
Yeah, elastic cuffs I don’t see that it needs anything at this point. Maybe ditch the back pockets but they are nice to keep gloves in. The new 3.0 is pretty awesome
Bullcarap, I bought one in 2022, took 3 months to arrive, and, just like it looks, it's not remotely windproof, about as much as a pair of running socks. They have the best marketing though. If some company can manage to actually come up with a fabric that's fleece, that addresses even the least amount of wind, they'll kill it for sure. I don't even mind paying 200 if I could, I've had Katmandu ($600) rain jacket, so I ain't cheap, but this company does not even return complaint emails.
Hi Scott, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our product. It sounds frustrating that it took so long to arrive and didn't live up to your expectations in terms of windproofing. It's definitely disappointing when a product doesn't meet its marketing claims. However, we would like to inform you that in the meantime, we have launched a new version of the BAERSkin hoodie, which addresses all the issues from our previous versions. We hope you will give it a try in the future! Best,
@eddiejr540 I know. Even Arc’Teryx LEAF...WTF. I can tell you that Beyond, Wild Things, and Prometheus Design still does US made - not every single piece but the outsourcing isn't China (I think...so far.)
It's just hyped marketing. No different to any other fleece of similar GSM in windproofing properties, for which merino wool always has the significantly upper hand (albeit heavier).
Don’t spend the money. The zipper was faulty and zero response to my concern!! So I’ll have to pay for a replacement zipper on a jacket I spent over 100 on
Ok so I'm gonna be honest it's got some flaws. First the pull string tabs are WORTHLESS! You pull them the slide right off even lightly snug slides off and the other issues is the cheap as hell velcro I've seen plenty and I mean plenty of velcro straps on cheaper jackets that still hold today unlike these that becomes frayed and floppy. Maybe the new rubber velcro tabs are good but if you are still using cheap velcro that won't even make a difference. This is an $80 hoodie at best. And another bad idea is the beanie it's so ugly and has the WHOLE BEARSKIN name on front that looks tacky when the beanie is already tacky. Then the long sleeve shirt they have the collar BACONS and nobody wants "BACON" collars. Yall need to do way better considering True Classic has far better shirts yall are asking to be mediocre
Stitching comes loose on all velcro patches including the wrist adjustments making this this terrible. Ive had mine for 5 months and im already looking to replace it with a better quality... just not worth the price... maybe if it was under 50 bucks or less i could get behind it but for something to last more than a year it is garbage
Wanted to order one but guess what, they don't ship to Alaska we are not part of the United States. Supposedly they have issues getting things here, I mean good grief it's called the US postal service they do a good job. Anyways they won't get my money!!
Hello! Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing some issues with shipping orders to Alaska. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We want to assure you that our team is working diligently to improve our service and we hope to make shipping to Alaska an option in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Best regards,
Hi @@davidhunternyc1, we are sad that to hear that, however we will forward your suggestion to the relevant team as they are always working on improving our products. Best,
Should be under warranty…try reaching out to them to get your zippers replaced. Mine is still holding up and don’t see the upgraded 3.0 failing anytime soon

@@baerskintactical It doesn’t clarify anything AT ALL, Baerskin. What it does is make you/Baerskin seem slippery and evasive. I fell for your AVALANCHE of hype and, 3 months later, I feel like a TOTAL TWAT for having done so. After 3 month’s experience, I would now say that for working outside, at least in damp and windy Northern Europe, my Baerskin 3.0 is NOT REMOTELY AS GOOD or as PRACTICAL as my 15+ year-old North Face and Berghaus fleeces. Even its hood is just a cumbersome, oversized and ineffectual pain-in-the-ass. I’m beginning to ‘hate’ it.
Hi there Joshua, we would like to clarify that our design, testing, and manufacturing centers are located all over the world, from Europe to Africa and Asia.
