Great video and advice. People always ask me why I still mow my lawn in Texas and it is because I enjoy doing it as much as you. Just made the change from husqvarna Briggs and Stratton that I gave to brother in law and now I can’t wait to use my new ego mower in a few months when mowing season starts. Cheers!!!

Put a fresh pair of mulching blades on my ego but still seeing a lot of stringy ends to my grass blades giving a dull brown appearance to the lawn. Any advice? I'll try the bagging blade next mow to see if it's any better.

I have the ego 2135sp select cut, and I've found that if the grass gets a little high, mulching then putting the bag on (still using the mulching blade) and going over the mulch trails works extremely well. This is what I did with my Honda, and the ego handles the job as well or better. No need to put the bagging blade on the ego.

Just a heads up - the link at top to extended run blade goes to a page with "Mulching Blade' in main title. And when ordered you get an extended run pair in a box marked AB2100D Mulching Blade. Also the extended run blade in box is actually stamped "lower mulching blade". I ordered this a year ago as spare based on main title of page and am stuck with two extended run now since I already had the unused one that came with mower. That one BTW is stamped 'lower extended run" with same engraved part number CH3707066002 as ordered spare. In summary - open box to make sure you in fact received what you intended to order.

Do you need to switch blades in order to go from mulching to bagging and back again? I want to mulch most of the time but I might want to bag in order to mulch my vegetable garden. If I have to change the blades, that is a deal breaker. Are there other cordless electrics where that is not necessary?

I used to have the single blade version of the Ego mower and it was terrible at mulching, leaving large clippings. Is the select cut Ego mower LM-2135 any better?

This is the base model not even self propelled with a dual blade conversion…. I’ve only owned the lm2100 and the lm2100sp ☺️🤙🏾

Could you bag while using the mulching blades? Any negative to doing that? Or is it better to use a high lift blade? Also, can you convert any single blade EGO?

In the summer I usually keep the mulching blades on and it can bag a little bit but some will be mulched as well! If you are trying to bag long or heavy grass def go with the high lift I learned that just this end of winter when the mulching blades didn't pick up the thatch after a verticut! 😊🔥🙏🏾🤙🏾

i did this befor my mulching blade turned up and its a yes and no if its a dry grass its fine will eat more battery tho but if its a more wet sticky grass its far to aggressive and just cakes the top of the deck. i just swap them out only take a minute to do.

Damn you have to cut your yard every other day??? I’m in Texas, cut my emerald zoysia once every 1-2 weeks using the high lift dual blades. In the long stretches of 95-105 degree days here I keep the grass at around 2.5 inches and it stays nice and green all summer. I tested one side of my yard mulching it down lower and it turned brown quickly and I had to water that section like crazy to get it to come back.

Just got an ego select cut mower and tried it on my lawn for the first time ( my first time mowing my lawn ). I had the height setting at 4 and it was cutting my grass way too low to where the lawn was looking brown after I did a cut. Raised it to the 2nd to highest setting and no brown grass . Any suggestions on the best height setting for a yard that is very un level. I have lots of divets and also some root stumps from trees . I'm realizing it seems extremely difficult to mow due to how uneven it is. It's 1/3 of an acre and I have no landscaping knowledge as far as leveling a lawn. Any suggestions?
