I've been using Bakblade 2.0 for about a year now and never once cut myself. I like that the head can be removed for easier shoulder and back of neck shaves too.
Just got a 2x2. Works good, but I would like a more curved handle. My back is not flat. I'm not muscle bound, but I DO have a few muscles, and without a curved handle it is hard to get contact with the blade in certain areas.
I've had the bro shaver for over a year and used it for the first time today. Cut myself twice (once on the wrist...don't ask). Getting cut is a big deal and it hurts. When I have the money I'm getting a backblade.
If ur watching this today, get the bak blade 1.0. Take a heat gun or blow drier to seperate the two pieces of plastic holding the blades in place. Take a drill and drill a hole to match the double edged razors within the cartridge. Now just replace those blades and get some machine screws, washers, and some hex nuts and u will get a better shave with better blades and save money
I first tried the bakblade (the first one) and even though I liked the results the blades were too expensive, then I bought an electric one, i didn't like it. I ended up buying the Bro Shaver, I used it weekly and since the blade are so cheap I don't spend that much.
I feel like this is a problem that more guys should be more vocal and come out about. I have always done my own with all different kinds of devices (its bad!) and lately just had someone else do it with a Wahl Peanut electric shaver. that works best but I like to be able to do it DIY. Do you still use the same to this day? Also have you used other devices? Thanks
I was using the BakBlade 1.0 for years, until I got fed up with the lousy quality of their new replacement blades. The originals were the best, while the newer ones are pure garbage that can't last past a couple of uses and can't shave anything close. I just bought a BroBlade and gave it a try. It does feel cheaper and not as good as the original BakBlade, but it at least does the job, as opposed to the low-quality new BakBlade refills. Having generic razor blades will at least provide many more uses for the same price. No idea how the BakBlade 2.0 fares.
I just bought one of these (based on your reviews... thanks!) in Dec 2019 and the gap you show where the blades join is not evident on mine. Since you said this just started happening as a new event... I wonder if the blades you used now are somehow off by just a mm or so? I know you say the BakBlade is only 20 bucks a year for refills but for 20 bucks you can get 150 double sided blades. You get 6 shaves from one side and flip them over for another 6. At one shave a month 3 blades is good for one year. 150 blades divided by 3 means for 20 bucks you have 50 years worth of refills! Sold!
I never have hair on my back. But shoulders yeah. It’s hell trying to shave that area. Whenever the right tenderoni over I let them do it. “Hey before u leave shave my shoulders “ 😂👍🏽. Great video bro
Why wouldn't the companies make the blades the same width as the cartridge case that the blades go into. If a box cutter blade can be made the length of the handle it goes into then why not use the same idea for the back shaver? I mean the gaps in between the blades is concerning to me, if a razor blade can be made a certain length for a much wider encasement then cant the same method be use for these blades used in this device. Just my thoughts awesome vids.
Something you didn't mention though. I have the OG back blade so can't speak to 2.0 What happens though is the Keeper on the handle kind of wears out, and your black (pack) will kind of slide. Also, you talk about doing it when you exit the shower. I Have found that if I do it dry, and go very lightly I get the best results. Only get a cut if I have a skin imperfection that I am not aware of.
Isn't back shaving products suppose to be electric? I'm looking for somthing to buy and something tells me that electric ones are easier and smoother. Am I wrong?
Thanks for the videos. But I also just bought the Bro-Shaver and it appears they have listened to you (or someone) because they only fit two regular razors now.. we'll see. But as a few others have asked, do you do it shower all wet or out of shower with shaving cream etc?
This is nuts, I read your review on Amazon, was going to go with the Bro Shaver but not I'm back in the BakBlade train. Simple math, $20 a year to not cut myself, solid.
How far down do you trim your cheek line? It seems like your beard used to be a bit higher on your cheeks. I'm asking because my beard will grow up even with my mustache and it's starting to wear on me, just the look of it. So I was considering dropping my cheek line a little and actually get some definite mustache/beard delineation. What's your thoughts? I'm as of today 6 months deep in my 12 month journey towards my 1st ever Yeard! And actually today is my 1st ever 1/2 yeard. Lol Stay Bearded bro. God Bless
@@brianskibo5886 wow i just noticed i made my original comment 3 years ago. I actually just had Laser Hair Removal on my back hair. Expensive but it works. I actually went out and bpught the electric mangroomer back shaver. Still have it. Works good but i wanted my back hair totally eliminated. Nair and Veet do stink bad.lol. i still use down low for some manscaping. My only issue with the Laser Hair is it was very expensive.
Thanks dude I have been checking out different shavers so everyone knows they have them dirt cheap on Temu and Ali Express but i bought a body shaver recently and was pissed it was electric and didnt get down to the skin smooth. God decided it would be funny to make me like Austin Powers hairy if its not down to the skin its like sand paper on your nice soft beautiful women...aaand well they don't like that shit so thanks youtube truly has something for everyone!😆
Bunch a girls up in here lol! You can cut your self shaving any part of your self, I shave my head to and did at first but ya figure it out, the blade replacements are ridiculous for bak blade 2.0 no way
The bakblade catridges are far more expensive. You can get a pack of 100 double edged razor blades for $10. Although I've never had cutting issues with the broshaver.
My dad actually invented the bakblade. It doesn’t. I’m only 15 and don’t have any back hair but there’s no irritation. It kinda feels like a back scratcher
these tools are total shit. Wouldn't it be great if the companies that make razors for our faces and legs made a system for our backs as well? just a thought.
Have you tried it though? Cuz I've read reviews and the Bakblade 2 has good reviews. I use Nair on my back hair and it's a pain to get it everywhere . I have to put it on a paint roller or towel to rub it in. I've never tried waxing but I hear it's painful.
