Donovan I'm tired of people bashing taekwondo especially muay Thai people don't get wrong I train muay Thai I love it but I've used taekwondo in a street fight and won and it was sport style

Donavan, thank you so much. I am preparing for my 5th Dan testing and these exercises have really helped me develop the hip strength I needed for pyongwon. keep It up you are an amazing Taekwondo Practitioner and person!

Nice Video's (have subscribed, liked, referred etc). Question for you: When I side kick and round kick, my knee always wants to turn down, preventing a high kick. Can you suggest a solution? PS: I have good hamstring flex but crap hip flexibility atm.

Well I mainly just rediscovered my love for fitness and martial arts and I feel I’ve grown a lot with my audience. You all have seen me thrive, fail, and thrive again. I’ve never felt better because now I feel I have an audience that will allow me to help them physically but also share my thoughts and journey with. Hello Donovan, how are you? I have an ITF tournament in October coming up and my flexibility has been lacking. I wanted to know what you recommend for opening up my hips. My hips lock up when I throw my right roundhouse kick and that causes serious pain. I do use foam rolling and I keep my core in good shape. But that damn hip still jabs at me. Can you please give me some pointers? Thank you sir.

Donavan is your flexibility talent or did you get to this point by exercising? How flexible were you when you first started?

I definitely had to work hard! i was never super stiff, but definitely no where near where i am now. I would stretch for two hours daily, working on strength and conditioning drills for another hour, and kicking for another hour!

@@donavantkd Do you remember how much you could split you legs when you first started? I can do like 150° without warming up. And also, could I become as flexible as you are now?

@@xxduck_of_luckxx8097 I was not at 150 hahaha so you're ahead of where i was when I started. That's up to you. When I wanted to be able to do all this stuff, I refused to let anyone tell me that i can't. I put in the long hours and made it happen. If you're willing to put in a lot of time and effort, then I see no reason why you can't get as flexible as me.

I don’t always kick to my highest ability 1)to preserve my knees. 2) to give help to those who may not be able to kick as high as me
