This is fun. Secrets videos are especially useful for planning my next run. Fun trick with the Shar’s Chapel buffs in the graveyard; the +5 to ability scores only last until long rest, but any extra spells you memorize can last until your next level up so long as you don’t change your spell selection in your spell book.

That is super interesting. I wonder if you could wait on it, reacht lvl 12 and then do this to permamently increase the number of spells you have memorized.

@@sirzwirbel2243I think you’d have to do this at level 10/11 instead,but it’s possible you could just go into a class that’s not a wizard (like 2 into fighter) to keep the extra spells

I did the good/minthera playthrough.. everything worked.. I saved her at moonrise tower. Take her to my camp and there she is standing next to halsin in camp.. I start a conversation (works fine) but I cannot talk to her after that.. I even added her to my party and couldn't remove her.. luckily I had previous saves

Was she "linked" to a different character as opposed to your Tav on the way out of Moonrise? If so, you can pick that character and speak with her. After that she will join and will speak with everyone else.

The way I understand it, there's a little more to recruiting Minthara than just knocking her out. She has to have the "Temporarily Hostile" tag on her when she goes down, to make sure that when she wakes up again she's back to neutral with you - the easiest way to do that is by committing a crime in front of her like attacking a guard or trying to steal something. If you just attack her then she will be regular hostile, and I guess she remembers that later.

I did exactly that, was able to rescue her and recruit her during Act II, and then wasn't able to talk to her ever again. She did speak during cut scenes and make occasional comments. I couldn't get her to leave my party without killing her, and at the end of Act 2 after we kill Kethric she sits on his throne and leaves the party and again I can't talk to her. So it was still bugged for me and I did everything 'right'.

@@jager290hi, to prevent the unable to talk to minthara bug, proceed as usual knock her out with temporarily hostile and all, clear the goblin quest as usual. The most important part is as follow, before entering act 2 or mountain pass route, make sure to check all the tiefling has left the groove (after saving halsin and clear the goblin quest then proceed with long rest celebration). After that talk to minthara and agree to attack the groove with her. Then you are save to proceed with act 2 / mountain pass route.

Just cast darkness over her and burst her down with non-lethal. As long as nobody sees you doing it you won't have a problem.

Boots of uninhibited kushigo are great for moon circle druids as well, because all attacks when shifted are unarmed strikes (and now properly count as them, as per last patch) meaning buffs work in tandem with them when shifted.

Both the raven AND the shadow lantern summons disappear if you unequip them. I went out of my way to get both in my first play through and I rarely ever used either because of it. The glove and weapon slot is just too much of an opportunity cost in my opinion for what they bring.

Unfortunately yes - just found out yesterday when got the Shadow Lantern - it even unsummons when you switch between weapon and torch :( They should add a note or something to that part of the video that it's wrong

Quothethe raven summon now disappears if you unequip the gloves. The concentration buff for Gale is not permanent and will only last until a long rest or he dies. Not sure if the shadow moon lantern summon also goes away if you unequip it.

I just found a quirk of a mechanic, I think. " quick summary" I ,9 times out 10 pick good choices in my play throughs, and truly love turning our characters become better people as you help them learn more. I was jazzed to attempt this with Minthra. Finding out she really disapproves of most any compassionate nature that you show. Fast forward to now/ 10 mins ago. So I went back to act one to complete some quests, having to leave her behind. Apon arrival to bring her back into the party, the narrator tells me that Minthra in is displeased with me, and I must provide a gift. So I gave her 12k, got full approval. Stole in back. And she loves me!XD Use this and share as you will!

Mystra benevolance doesn't work for me maybe coz i consumed shadow spell slot in house of healing? But i didnt get any buff from removing the drawing, also my friend got it but it goes away after Long rest which is weird

Number 3: If you steal the knife, you get to fight 3 strong enemies that will give you a lot of extra XP.

3 CORRECTIONS Number 4 : Unequipping the gloves will cause the raven to be dismissed. Number 7: Correction 1: The buff, Mystra's Benevolence is not permanent, it's temporary. It only lasts until next long rest and cannot be re-acquired by any means after that. Number 7: Correction 2: Unequipping the lantern causes the Shadow to be dismissed.

The devs still have not given us the best option. Save the Teiflings, but kill all the druids. It is not possible to kill all the druids, and still get the Tieflings to survive until last light in. Very annoying. There needs to be more options to side with Minthara, and still have Teiflings.

Finished this game a few weeks ago decided to give there game before this one a shot WOW it's way better than bg3 the combat is far superior the loot is far superior the leveling up is far superior 20 hrs in and I can't believe it didn't get the love bg3 got

I like the dos 2 combat more yeah. Even the skills are better but the story and overall bg3 is better but i agree that dos 2 as parts which are better. Iam sure if ever dos 3 comes out it will be more of a mainstream game since everybody remembers bg3

Honestly I did not like the loot system in DoS2 at all. The constant artificial powercreep when it comes to the stats always made it so your old gear was basically useless 2~3 level ups later. BG3 has items you can find act 1 that stay relevant all the way until the very end. I really like that. Just to be clear though, I agree that the game is amazing. DoS2 is easily in my personal top 10 if not top 5.

Nice list, although the Mystra Buff isn’t as permanent as the Shadow Lantern. It disappears after a long rest, IIRC.

Note for #8 if you are romancing Astarion and force him to drink her blood he will break up with you in a future long rest scene. And depending on your approval rating he will permanently leave. So raise his approval and don’t romance him if you want him to stay while receiving the +2 permanent Strength buff.

Only did one playthrough with minthara, you lose way too much with killing the grove. The only thing I noticed was I got more 🐛 points, not really worth 3 companions and rewards you get for being good... Also Damon sells good stuff and just having another vendor. Is she incapable of interacting with wylle,karlach and halsin? As they are not supposed to be together?

She can fully interact with them. They will comment on her and you can ask her what she thinks about them. Even Halsin. She fitts in surprisingly well, even with the good companions and seems to really like Karlach.

So I knocked out Minthara in act 1 and she didnt show is this confirming that it can only be done if you didnt speak with her in act 1? also Similarly The Windmill gnome i rescued and then again in Grymforge never joined my camp to then become a merchant at last inn or continue the gnome revolution qquestline. Is anyone else experiencing this on console?

Minthara: You need to make her temporarily hostile by stealing near her or attacking a guard near her. Then knock her out. Barcus: after saving him at Grymforge have a companion talk to him and there will be a dialogue option for him to join your camp. Choose that.

@@Cyb3rM1nd so Minthara was temporarily hostile since I started a fight after I spoke with her so I was confused since when I returned before going to UnderDark and Creche she was gone but SazZa was awake and was thankful I didnt kill her and let her live so thought I'd see Minthara in Act 2

Important to know: Bugs! Like 20 bugs have been reported so far For example Cazador is extremely overpoiwered now and one hits most party members with his necrotic aura. Quest related items aren't acknowledged by the game ...and more game breaking bugs Can anyone fix this Hotfix?

You need to to tell her to attack the groove, but then warn Zevlor at the groove and when Minthata shows up for the attack you say that you are on the grooves side and when you start the fight there at the Gates you knock her out. I don't think it's working if you knocking her out in Goblin camp

1) knowing the mind puzzle won't help. the puzzle is very hard. you can try but probably you would give up too. 2) you can also get "Us" as permanent pet at the moonrise tower colonize. But you need to save "Us" first at the start of the game. 3) at the moonrise tower prison, after you killed the warden. there's another door, thru it you will find a mindflayer hole. jump into it and you will find a tadpole on a corpse. 4) you should kill everyone except the vendor in the moonrise tower, for various reason. the guards outside the tower have a few tadpoles on them and also goto the harbor, you can find a can of parasites and destroy it you will find 2 more tadpoles.

The reason there’s so many act one but hardly any act 2 videos, it’s a great game but it’s blah after about 6 hrs playing. People would rather watch someone else play or just do clips. People these days don’t have attention span to play constantly to make it to act 2.

My problem is that I am min-maxing so hard that I'm too strong and the battles are trivial on tactician mode. It is my first playthrough as well but I need to stop trying to find and do everything and just play the game and finish the story.

Looks like your projecting your attention span on others haha. Im not hardcore gamer, im finish mu plauthrough like 1 month, only play 3 hours game a day and i finished 2 playthrough already good and bad. Sure act 1 have solid content, but if u have a little bit attention span u might read what npc says and what to know whats the ending rather than watching spoiler on yt

I'm over 200 hours in and not at act 3 yet lol Definitely a projection. It's probably because ppl figure the game out and either don't need help or only need ideas on new playthroughs.
