it's crazy how many different archer you can make, all fighter, ranger/swords bard/fighter, gloomstalker assassin, bard/rogue, bow or dual xbows.

This has served me well so far! Even though I got aggressive with the goblins before getting the titanstring in act 1 lol I got it at moonrise tower thank god. thanks! I’ll be back next time I level up

This is my first time hearing about the club of hill giant strength, will definitely keep an eye out for it on my next playthrough. .That sounds like it'd also be a a crazy good weapon for a tavern brawler monk

It's not. You want to be unarmed while playing TB monk to punch on your actions. You have two choices, actually. You can drink strength elixirs (21 or 27 STR), which is great if you play with the full party. Alternative is to put points in STR (16 from start), 1 from TB, 1 from hair, 2 ASI, 2 potion (act 2), 2 mirror. 24 STR is good enough and you can still drink Bloodlust elixir for even more damage. Having 16 STR, not 17, allows you to max DEX and WIS, by dumping CON and using the amulet to compensate it. Used this build for solo tactician run, pretty happy about it

taking some rogue levels early let Astarion still use lockpicking and steal shit for you. I'd consider it a must honestly.

I try ranger and I didn’t feel like an archer…I try thief Archer and wasn’t feeling But this Fighter is a pure breed archer and as a plus you can fight CQC if is needed

Which battle Master works with bows? Always shows melee icon om choice screen.

Don’t know if you’ve found your answer but most of them when obtained have both a melee and ranged version.

So this works because finesse weapons scale off of dex?

Yes that’s what the finesse tag does, more accurately they scale of of dex only if your dex is higher than your strength.

This is one of the strongest builds and easiest to play i played similar but gloves of automaton with this build is a must for me . If you want to be overpowered buy some many targets arrows and special arrows and you are good to go. Tactician is really easy in BG 3 if you know dnd if not you need to learn some mechanics and rules but i bet you are going to be just fine.

Something minor I did during leveling with a similar build was play 3 Rogue (Thief) + x Fighter, and then respec on level 11. It's a really fun playstyle. You get to use all the same feats and gear, except for the weapons - dual wielding hand crossbows. This way with the thief bonus action, you can do 3 attacks per turn (4 on level 8+), get the sneak attack "for free", and it's pretty fun to have all the mobility with the bonus-action cunning dash. It only really becomes weaker on level 11, where the 3rd attack with bloodlust + haste makes pure fighter insane. Thanks for sharing your version as well! I think most people default to ranger when thinking about ranged DPS, but fighter is the better single target range dps.
