Baldurs gate 3 is a game I’ve been waiting for , for years . I’m glad it’s not easy or simple . We need more dnd influenced games . The stories are endless . I don’t know why wizards of the coast have such a had time making a game similar to this . If they had a full blown dnd game like Baldurs gate 3 it would bring more people to the idea of playing table top .
It seems to happen when one of your companions are shapeshifted. The avatar drops the shapeshift for things like this, and casts it again without removing a charge.
And for fuck sake, don't forget to save the Tieflings and the Gnomes! I went and did Nightsong first before saving them thinking i could do it after that and they were all freaking dead i was pissed off as fuck but didn't want to do Nightsong all over again and that bullshit fight in the main hall of Moonrise Towers all over again!
Yeah for sure that's one of the most important. Great rewards, and my rarest bg3 steam achivement, something like 1.4% to save all tieflings on a single playthrough.
@@ReveriesVideos If that battle at Moonrise Towers main floor wasn't absolutely ridiculous, i would even reload an older save just to save the guys and avoid having Jaheira die (didn't know youncand revivify npcs i was like: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKK), but oh Lord... i'm just bored and pissed with this fight to do It again
So glad I saw this comment. Luckily, I still had a save right outside the pool that leads to the nightsong so I didn’t have to do those trials again. Like you, I went to the towers after I freed her and had to fight everyone. Was pissed until I saw that save point.
One more note that if you want to infiltrate the Moonrise you also need to do it before you resolve the Nightsong quest as once you do there will be no more talking, only killing at the towers. At least in my playthrough they all turned hostile afterwards and I unwillingly skipped a bunch of content there.
@@bendakstarkiller1270 Even as an Oath of Vengeance pally I ended up reloading the game, cause when I saved Nightsong, I failed the 2 rescue quests in moonrise towers, since they can only be done when you infiltrate the place. And as a paladin I swore to save them, so RP wise it didn't make sense to abandon those tieflings and halflings.
I went to Moonrise tower first, bought/steal everything I needed, got the everlasting vigour potion and then went to the Nightsong quest and came back with a Vengeance cuz there was hell to pay!
Night song was one of the first things I did and had no idea what I missed and why wulbren was dead when I got to the prison. On my second playthrough just rescued him and kinda miss him bring dead tbh
Not true? I rescued Cal and Lia, they went back to last light asking where Rolan was, I went to go find him and sent him back to last light where they yelled at eachother about how the other was dumb for trying to help everyone else.
I was able to rescue the Tieflings first and then find him- but it was because I found his hollogram in last light that gave me the quest marker, I'd say do not rest or leave the area, just go get him, the fight is pretty easy
Well well. I got all the way to the entrance to the Nightsong and got that point of no return message. Came here to check if I missed anything. Got everything! Nice.
that's why i am in love with this game i didn't find Arabella in the act 1 because i didn't explored the Emerald Grove, and she probably is the girl that was killed by Kagha when Halsin said something about sacrifice. and then, i was trying to find her in the act 2, but i can't because she was killed this game is extraordinary
I took Halsin with me and he was able to talk Oliver down without a major fight (there was a minor fight)-and without having to play hide and seek, too!
A fun thing my friend and I did for the portal battle was to lay down two lines of smokepowder and firewine barrels on the left side. One closer to the rock and the other further away where the cursed folk come out in droves. We also greased the ground and laid other smokepowder bombs. When the numbers started arriving we fired off a flame arrow. Worth it for the explosion alone. The only thing missing from that sastifying effect was a mushroom cloud.
Did something similar but laid out glyph of warding (fire) so it triggered an explosion and pretty much took out the whole first wave. Ended up defeating all the waves a turn before halsin came back.
Drinking with the bartender will hain you approval with Astarion but do the 3rd one as a sleight of hand not a drink. He also approved the story telling. Arabella is something you should do early as the spell helps fight the shadows.
The really fun thing about this game for me is going with the rolls if it happens it happens no reloading. 😅 It gives replay ability I've done 2 playthroughs and on my third so far each ones been different.
I actually managed to pass almost all of my checks. I drank the stuff lol. 😅 and the guy exploded. I had to reroll on the gold lady but managed to talk her into exploding and talked the house of healing guy to be killed by his followers. Lol.
Any strange effects other than being drunk from it? Kinda weary of doing things since I gave lazel brain damage just trying to see if that device would kill her lol. I must have missed the gold lady, I heard about her but never seen her.
No, not for me but I played as a Cleric. You can roll to have your god protect you from the effects and the narrator says repeatedly you are no worse for wear and there are no stat changes
Yeah my tav is a monk and the monk option to just wisdom save each time to steel my body against the effects was so cool. I love how each class has a robust approach to certain dialogue choices
If you first enter the map via the mountain passage the waypoint is not far for the last part of Thaniel. Once you have the waypoint you can then go back to Grymforge and start from there and then when you need to do the last part for Thaniel you can just use the waypoint that brings you pretty much on the doorstep of that part.
One thing, I found out about Thaniel the hard way in my first playthrew: You can do Thaniel even AFTER Nightsong, but it is tricky. So you should do it before. I ran into it and talked to Halsin after Nightsong to find out, that his quest was done. But I had a save before I talked to him. So I used that and just did not talk to him. Instead I went to Art, who was dead already. But with "speak to the dead" you can get all necessary information. When you speak to Halsin after that, you can pick up his Thaniel questline even after Nightsong, by choosing the right dialog option, which only pops up, when you have spoken to Art. So the Thaniel quest is only finalized in the first Convo with Halsin after NIghtsong.
I did Thaniel after Nightsong but before leaving for the gate and it worked out ok, just have to do it before you leave for the journey to Baldurs Gate.
Thank you!I was kind of lost with whether i should do nightsong first and where it would take me. So this really helped! I had taken a break from BG3 so thats why :p
@@ReveriesVideos There was a quick shot of his face during one of the dialogue lines, where he was using his eye as a mouth, with lip sync and everything. The most cursed glitch I've ever seen lol Video: youtu (dot) be (slash) oRTVvkrwJw0 (YT censor is getting ridiculous, remove spaces and replace the words dot and slash)
The only way to meet Halsin is at goblin camp where he was kept behind the bars. If you didn't side with the bear (Halsin's beast form) and kill all the goblins, you can't save Halsin. I guess you messed up with the Goblin camp.
Holy sh!t the amount of things I missed. Guess they will have to wait for my 2nd playthrough already half way through moonrise fight and I'm not reloading.
At my first playthrough I skipped almost everything because I wanted to help my bae Shadowheart asap from her hurting curse. But as it turned out she won't get to cure it until act 3, and I kinda blocked a lot of quests.
I messed up and missed halsin on my first game; Now I need to do 2 more playthroughs - one for him and another for minthara. Mods really add to the game as "tactician" is still far too easy - I had 3 deaths; one from going into under moonrise with no resources (missed the recharge thing), one from the gith ambush at the end of act 2 (didnt rest - oops) and the other from the netherbrain boss because i didnt notice the portal so tried to dps down with one character in an entire playthough with no advanced knowledge of what is to come and 5 long rests total. With mods I increased the enemy HP/stats by 100%/+2 (vs 30% for tactician), added artificer/cleric subclasses/hexblade/glamour, made dual wielding (except hand crossbows) not suck, improved visuals with reshade, added the fix for villagers running from summons and added 5e spells.
Yeeeah only thing I could do/complete was the bartender. I actually did drink, but my Paladin has stupid high saving throw bonuses and stomached them all down. Minthara even approves if you can drink without ill effects. Easy approval bump for a companion with few opportunities for approval gain
Defending helsin while he was searching inside the portal can be insanely hard! It's not as easy as he showed in the video, they keep sending a infinite amount of shadows and shadow cursed people at you plus they are all focused on the portal, you gotta prepare for a hard battle so try to control the battle grounds with fire puddles and things that slow movement and before you start place fire barrels and powder barrels every where you know that they spawn and if you can even place some boxes in front of the portal to cover it and give you a higher ground advantage, i did that and released the spectator from the iron flask to distract them and nearly didn't make it it was down to the last HP! Lol but for real it was insane and I was just playing on Balanced mode i don't know if it was the easiest difficulty he showed but yeah he made it look really easy and it was not, the battle with the shadow kid wasn't ether but it was at least possible without a ton of explosive barrels lol
I learn, do some quests first, like save people from the moonrise tower, do some others quests, then do the nightsong quest. I learn if you do the nightsong quest without rescuing people from moonrise tower, their are gone when you go there again.
Also, theres a little place i missed completely on my first playthrough- theres a morgue outside the house of healing. There's a set of doors down a small dark decline thats hard to see. Theres a fight with some undead guys and some gas vents. Then going through the entire thing will lead to a gorge with green gas. At the bottom theres some slimes and an undead guy with good armor to loot. Theres also a couple chests and it has a back way out. I think the back way out leads to somewhere on the road to baldurs gate but I can't remember. Anyway, its worth the xp and loot if you arent rushing through the game and easily missed.
I got a feeling this has all been patched because I went and finished up all of shadowhesrts business in this area and then took care of everything else you mentioned afterward!
lol, if you’re a barbarian when talking to the bar tender it gives you the option to chug down every single drink with no consequence and your party members approve, (at least shadowheart, Karlach and wyll)
Things to do before doing nightsong 1) fill the entire first floor of moonrise tower with explosive barrels also dont forget to go to balthazars room, get the dead pixie and combine it with the broken/empty lantern something (I actually forgot the name of that lantern), its a pretty nifty lantern with a good spell.
There’s also the big root monster with all the small little root monsters and a couple undead Harper’s. There’s a unique ring that’s not very good imo but I’m just kind collecting everything I can
Interesting, instead of Rolan missing, Zevlor is missing for me and Rolan stood up for the child tieflings during the ambush they mention. I wonder what actions or choices you make changes this?
rolan did stand up for the tieflings however they got overrun and they took his siblings away you get a mission to get his siblings back but he is impatient and tries to look for them himself hence rolan goes missing after you save his siblings
Well seeing as i stayed neutral and didn't get involved in the emerald grove stuff i am 0/3 so far. All the characters required for those first three quests perished, and i did save Arabella from the snake but i guess she was killed by goblins. Was getting Minthara worth all of it? Yes.
Hey sorry about that, I did mention it but it was mentioned at the end of the video(also in link description).. I should have mentioned at the start though. I just made a separate video on it, so didn't actually include it in this video.
What act is this in? I'm in Act 1 & just did the Moon Puzzles for the Nightsong quest. I'm guessing this is a quest that's near the end, or something? I hear people say to make sure to finish other quests & find so & so before starting it. Making it seem like a 'point of no return' situation. I didn't watch too much of the video, cuz i didn't wanna spoil too much
Another important thing to do before you fight the general, and possibly before Nightsong.. Do the quests for Wyll, or something terrible happens. I didn't see a warning about it until i was in an area i couldn't warp out of!
I just had to redo 3 hours of gaming because I did not know that I could not save the tieflings afterwards 😂 I wish I saw this sooner. 😢 Act 2 is whooping my ass forreal… I had to undo the kidnapping because everyone at the last light was dying on me. So cruel. Also the portal defending for Halsin fight was soooo hard took me forever thru lmao 😅
I had to reload my saves 1 million times when trying to save Dammon at the last light in because of the recent bug in patch three, where the strange ox kills him, and the only solution I found to this problem is before you make it to the last light in travel back to the druid grove, and kill the strange ox. Nobody else will be there pretty much but the druids. So the ox is standing by itself and if you kill it and then go to the last light in will not be there, but the blacksmith will. Otherwise, it kills him pretty much immediately and instantly.
@reveriesvideos I have three questions, and overall comments. First: how are you getting double 20's on advantage persuasion rolls? item, mods? Second, what bard build did you do? Third, if I have Gale as a bard, would he be able to get the same success in persuasion rolls like you're getting (pending the answer to question 1). I am on my third playthrough (technically my first two i only completed Acts I and II and didn't like my party builds in Act III) with the monk rogue build as main (super OP build I suggest people give it a go), and i turned Gale into a Lore Bard. I hope to do a lot of these quests you've shown as I never knew of some of them in the shadow area, or specifically how they're connected to lifting the curse. In my third playthrough I took out all the goblins and the drow at the goblin camp (avoiding the fight at the druid encampment), so all of the NPCs are now available in the shadow area. I can't wait to lift that curse to make Moonrise Towers so much easier. Great video, thank you.
Sorry for the super late reply. I am not using any mods though. If you're referring to the double dice rolls, those are perks...I forgot which ones. I was not actually a bard, but just a wizard for my mc. Totally ahead of me, as I am only on my 2nd playthrough 😁. Been held up with some depressing things in RL that are more important though. I am using monk rogue on my 2nd playthrough & its not only op but def pretty fun for sure. Can't remember the last time I played a single player game over more than once, but bg3 has so much to miss, with so much variety with each new playthrough.
I didn't know this so I did Night song first, now I'm attacking Moonrise and prisoners are all gone. Can't reload on Xbox all but 2 saves are deleted daily. can't save them and get my Achievement 50 hours that will need to be redone.
Note: you have to roll a 21 to get the doc to kys. Without any help, its impossible for you to roll a 21 on a d20. Add proficiencies to your roll. I reloaded 10 times trying to get the 21, then i face palmed myself on my last roll. You cant get a 21 from a d20 without aid. Inevitably i had to fight the doc. Hes either a fiend or undead because he passively got blinded by Shart.
I killed the cleric protecting last light and then the town for tge dark urge quest and i had shadowheart kill nightsong to go full dark side... mabie ill be nice a clear the curse next playthrew lol
I must have missed the memo because my man went straight to Shar's temple and cleared most it....until I met a certain Orc. Gonna backtrack now and complete the map and come back a tad bit stronger.
Murder the whole Grove and tieflings in act one and none of these people are here. Halsin died in his goblin cage, Roland's nowhere in the shadow curse from I could see. Gnomes can get fucked in their dungeon. I killed everyone at last light inn. Pure evil dark surge play through this time.
So much missed content - as soon as I go to the Last Light Inn and went upstairs, there was a cutscene and mini-boss battle, the moonshield fell and everyone died or turned hostile. I had and idea there were other quests there, but not sure what triggered this outcome - any idea how to stop this from happening? Another playthrough is in order!
It is explained. Her parents died to put her on the path of the weave. Arabella says so herself when Withers helps relieve her grief and she says “is that my future?”, it’s just not shown in this video.
It’s implied also through withers that her powers are potentially something unique, and very powerful that need to flourish. From what I gather she’s able to absorb and use all kinds of magic, not just Druid ones.
I tried to talk with arabellas parents cuz i thought it might open up a new chat option for her like if they told me to tell her they love her but its not possible you cant talk with the dead with her parents
Im not sure what i did wrong but i went through the whole process of the "He Who Was" quest but somehow never got the quest "assigned" so i completed everything but got no reward. Can anybody give me some insight? Did I miss something in the beginning?
Shit now i have to reload a save, luckily i just did the part where i released the nightsong so i wont lose much progress only the fight with balthazar😮
Guys i think i fucked up😂 Everyone died/ i killed them, Halsin is gone too lol. It was all an accident i swear, but i realised my mistake waaaaay later😢 Better luck in my next game ig, rip😂
