The Irish Guy takes a look at the top 20 who polled highest in the 2019 Ballon d'Or, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Virgil Van Dijk and Lionel Messi, and seeing what was each individual's best ever season.
Edgar el compa he said OVERALL season. sure he had his best statistical season in 11/12 that cannot be argued, nobody will ever match his goals and assists and what not. but that season they didn’t win ucl or la liga. 2015 he won la liga, ucl, and copa del rey, scoring 2 of his most iconic goals in the process, the one vs bayern in ucl semifinal, and vs bilbao in copa del rey final. he put in some incredible performances, even in some games where he didn’t score he was still the best player on the pitch and had the titles to go with it
@@nabz5538 atleast klopp got to keep his job unlike pelegrini at Madrid when his team also got a record amount of point at the club but still came second to Barcelona
That's how intense their rivalry was.It was them 2 and then the rest.Their goals put together is more than what the next 4 players scored put together. That is just insane
Why only mention goals?, Leo assisted a further 29 times (maybe less or more) in that season, meaning he finished with combined of over 100 goals/assists, in just 1 season. Same goes with CR7, 14/15 I believe he finished on a combined total of 88 goals/assists.
and there's this myth that CR7 never assists goals when he has the 4th highest assists in La liga history behind Messi, Xavi and benzema who have all spent much more time in Spain than him
Firmino's 17/18 season was something else, started well the season as part of the "fab four" until coutinho left to Barca and simply exploded ever since, having an amazing sync with prime salah, who was unstoppable, and mane who found his feet after phil's departure and started his rise to be one of the greatest footballers today. God, I miss that attacking force, Liverpool might have become a better team by miles but sometimes I wish they could play like they used to do on regular basis, smashing teams like city, roma and other ucl or prem teams by three, four, five and even seven goals for fun instead of winning 2-1 most of the time and having to watcg vvd and fabinho passing the ball to eachother for ninty minutes. Not complaining tho, present liverpool is incredible, but I miss that spark in the attack that only comes occasionly like the Barca, City(3-1) or Leicester(0-4) matches
@@Adam-cj2jg ighalo does not have 11 goals in all competitions for man united, you fucking moron, unless you include his goals in china before winter break, what makes you an absolute clown
You should do Top 30 Balon D’Or winners’ seasons, ranking each Balon D’Or winner from best season to worst season (Messi 2012 would probably win and Modric 2018 would be last for example)
You should do the top ten best ballon d’or winners season such as Messi had the best year when he scored 91 goals I think and someone like modric most probably wouldn’t be on there because his year wasn’t that good
Jesus Christ thinking about Ronaldo scoring 46 goals and messi scoring 50 gives me chills peak Ronaldo and Messi days they are on a league of their own
Deák 'Bamba' Ferenc holds the record of the most goals in one season. He scored 66 goals in the 1945-46 season. The Hungarian League was a top league then.
Yes, 2014/15 would be his in terms of statistics as an overall player...but I personally prefer 2016/2017 season...I consider it to be his most overlooked season...
@@meeravaradan5262 wrong no. Pal he played 32-33 games not to mention his highest no. Of chances created in a season is 64 far less than Ronaldo's best
