I'm currently covering a proctor kit same as your busa. with fabric, I'm trying water based poly as the filler loved the video,

Joseph is here! Waiting to see what you got going. I'm happy that you're back into it. My tri-pacer-P22 is awesome and complex. Will take lots of hours to complete. I've decided to do an intricate interior also!!

Good plan moving the vent tube. Raw fuel hitting the axel wing shortens it's life quickly. My solution was to run a tube through one of the landing gear struts so it passes through the axel wing and only hits the ground. It has worked out well. Just have to watch it closely to see when it is full.

Wow, it looks really nice. Question: How do you deal with the holes for the control cables at the rear? I assume that you dope around them and then use maybe a soldering iron to remove the fabric... Am I close?

Dope over the hole when it's dry cut it out clean..

After I finish doping (about 4 coats), I use a torch to warm up a piece of piano wire and quickly push it through and trace it around the inside of the hole.

The cowling should be fiberglassed and primed, not covered in fabric.

I considered doing that. I do have a roll of 1/2 oz sitting ready if needed. I decided that I because it will be properly prepped for spray paint it would end up looking about the same.

I just sealed the wood with epoxy thinned with alcohol and spray painted it. It's held up well

Randolph Non-Tautening Nitrate Dope cut 50/50 with lacquer thinner.
