The Banana Plant is an amazing plant to grow in the garden an all its parts can be used in so many different ways. I show you a few ways I use this plant which is actually not a tree but a huge herb!
I truly love this impressive plant!
Thank you for watching and leave me a comment on how you use this plant, I am always learning an happy to get inspiration from you:)

Ooh! Here's what I do with some of my bananas! After dehydrating them really good, I turn them into powder and mix them with pulverized dried mulberries and dates. Sometimes I add unpasteurized honey too. It makes a hard past kink of, and that's who I make my energy balls for when we go hiking and mountain skiing! As I don't live in the tropics, I buy my bananas by the case (18.4kg). Sometimes we buy 3!! We let them ripe, dehydrate some and then freeze the rest for smoothies and nice cream! Some of my favorite flavors are: 1) with Barleygrass juice powder, 2) with strawberries and basil, 3) and with black cherries! But just plane is sometimes all I need! So simple and satisfying!!!! Oooh! And banana-jackfruit?!!!!! OMG!! Insane!!
@MyFoodForest
@MyFoodForest 2 года назад
Thanks Fruity Elena for the tip - really good idea to mix grind them and add to energy balls. I used to make granola and ad some of the dried bananas that i cut into the mix! Oh yes, nice cream never gets boring, we can make so many flavours! I also love banana - jackfruit and happy that jackfruit season is just starting here!

@@jessibaby901 Cool!!! Before being vegan (like 10 years ago), I had a "traditional" icecrem with those 2 flavors and I loved it. I reproduce it since with 1 part frozen bananas and 1 part fresh sweet (the riper and sweeter, the better) strawberries, and a handful of fresh basil (not too much though; it might come out bitter) in a food processor and I find it's better than the original!! At least, better than my souvenir of it, hihi! Let me know if you end up trying it! 😊

Here in Assam in Northeast India, we make "Posola" from the stem of the banana plant. The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia: Posola in Assamese cuisine is a food made with the inner part of banana shoots. The bark is peeled off and the tender inner part of the banana stem cut into small pieces. Onions, garlic, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and fenugreek seeds are fried in oil until they splutter and then the banana stem pieces are added into the mixture and simmered in a kadhai with some hot water. Once the water evaporates the dish is ready.

Nice! :D Banana trees are indeed one of those trees of which a lot of things can be used. Coconut is another one. I remember eating banana flower as a vegetable when I was in Assam once, before I became a raw vegan. Tasty dish. The banana stem can also be eaten. I see you have a video on making juice of it. I have never eaten this part or drank juice from it.

You can try and not cut off the main stem of banana tree it can provide upto 70% nutrition fir the sister banana plant(small plant) it can reduce the need of extra nutrition and just cut off extra leaves just leave one or two on the top after pruning the fruits.

Did you find out why the black spots? I have them also in my main banana patch and I think its a fungal thing? It happened after I stupidly let someone come and get a load of pups and they left corms open (didnt cover the wound with soil) Now all of my bananas in that area have it. Sometimes I get black tiny spots on the bunches from there also. Sad!
