I'm a old, grown man, and I cry like a little girl every time I watch Akane do the drum solo in this, tears of PURE JOY...she's God's gift to percussion. My life is better after becoming a Band Maid fan, so much talent and joy in each and every one of them.
You are right about Akane (drums) being special. In fact, the crazy thing about this band, is that every member is uniquely special. Individually, they are phenomenally talented women, but together. . . together they are just unequaled. It really is a miracle Miku (rhythm guitar, vocals) managed to find Kanami (lead guitar), who knew Akane (drums), who was friends with MISA (bass), and formed the best rock band of the 21st century. And THEN they managed to trick Saiki (lead vocals) into joining the band making it even more incredible! They are a supergroup without actually being a supergroup. Sugoi! I am very happy I stumbled upon this band years ago. They are often the best part of my day. 🕊
From Japan Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID! I envy you two watching BAND-MAID together. You are a wonderful wife! 😁 I'm watching this great hard rock band alone, unfortunately. they are real. And I haven't come across a bad song in their over 100 songs. And like the drummer Akane, she always makes me smile. Please continue to enjoy BAND-MAID together.
This video is the perfect example of what the Maids are like on stage ! Fun, Engaging & Happy......it's just the best & Sweetest thing ever !! 💯❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
You are starting down a rabbit hole that is full of twists and turns, with a surprise around every corner. Band-Maid is one of the most fantastic bands to hit the music scene in over 20 years. There are no egos in this band. While Miku writes the lyrics and Kanami starts filling in the music, each and every one contribute their own special part to each song to make it work like no one else can. I saw them twice on their recent tour and was amazed, but not surprised, at the energy they produced on stage, but also how they kept energizing the crowd. I know of no other band who can match them, and I have seen more than I can count over the past 50 plus years.
These women are the perfect incarnation of the philosophy..."The whole is larger than the sum of the parts". They are really something special to the world of music.
Can a band have more FUN? Can the fans have more FUN? Yes, we and they can have more FUN. It's been almost 3 years from this performance and their just completed US tour which shows that FUN and Awesomazing music are what BAND-MAID is all about. Any band can play their own music but BAND-MAID is special in many regards. From top to bottom they check ALL my boxes and then some. BAND-MAID NEVER disappoints. Peace. 6.06
Now you understand why Jimmy Page after watching Akane's drumming said that she was one of the best drummers that he's ever heard and that she reminded him of John Bonham. Saiki reminds me of Alanis Morissette in her ability to change her vocal styles. As always Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!
Akane (drummer) can play other instruments..including the trombone and piano....She was inspired to become a drummer by Nao, the female drummer of the band "Maximum the Hormone"...Akane is so good ...she is now my favourite drummer EVER!!.....I LOVE her style of play and all with such elegance...a beautiful smile...it can't be beat!!...🥰😌...Oh Akane is the oldest in the BAND...she's be 32 on the 14th December.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Yeah! One of the seven wonders of Band-Maid is "How can Akane do that complicated and fast drum solo while laughing ? (It's not just a smile)" 😄
The youngest of them is their singer Saiki (pronounced Sai-key) at 28 and the 'oldest' is drummer Akane (pronounced A-ka-ney) who will be 32 next December. The band will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year, with an unchanged line-up from the beginning. So yes, they are older than they look, but still young. And I would say that also shows when you see them off-stage for example in interviews. I have rarely seen musicians as grounded and egoless as they are. The only ego they have is to improve themselves musically, and with that to advance the band as a whole. And you raise what I think is an interesting point, which I agree with. As far as music is concerned, Americans and we Europeans have had a stronger urge to move forward in the past. This is also backed up by a comment that you can read from time to time under the videos of these Japanese rock/metal bands. "America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it." :) If I may give two more recommendations: Their first MV to 'Thrill' from 2014 to see how they started, and 'Real Existence (Official Live)'. Better fasten your seatbelts for the latter. :) Greetings from Germany. 🙋🏻♂ _____________________ 【 _Till I return to dust I will stand alone in the dark with my pride at the end of time_ 】--- *Nemophila* - '徒花 -Adabana-' 💮
Live is the way to go, they supercharge everything live on stage. I suggest their song called "Play" live next. and for the pure enjoyment, be sure circle back and checkout the first song again, this time live...
Live or studio, there's really no wrong way to listen to Band Maid! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Bubble, Manners/Black Hole (live) & Real Existence (live)
Hello, how are you? I see you had questions about band maids ages In one of your reactions. Yes as of today they are in their 30's but they have been together more than 10 yrs. And domination song is an older track. They are in their 20's in domination performance. I very much enjoy this band, they are all awesome at what they do, I first became aware of them in may 2000 right around corona, I started out thinking kanami was the star of the band, then as the journey continued akane then misa, saiki, miku. Now I realize they are all stars ,they all are the stars, and they acknowledge each other as such. No big heads in the band, swollen egos. I hope you enjoy your journey. Watch all live performances then check out music video, studio recordings. This is a performance band. React to alone, you, clang, rinne, arcadia girl, glory that should be a good start. If I may can I give a little background. The original record co. Was writing the music and lyrics, the band wanted to do their style of music. Due to the Japanese culture (women subservient) the company said we will write a song in the style you want. (Thrill ) . The company was about to release the band, thrill became popular band maids contract was over they were signed by new company and was given some creative license and band maid wrote alone their first track, the rest is history and your journey.
To address your point about musicianship in the U.S. v Japan : Japan funds music education In their public schools, we do not. That lack of funding led to kids in the U.S., specifically Bronx NY to adapt and create a new genre/culture we call hip-hop. So, even though the U.S stopped funding public schools, we adapted, improvised and created something new. Yeah, we have fewer bands like Chicago and Earth,Wind & Fire but we gonna be aright. Loved your reaction, by the way 🙂
Not so young. They’re all around 30yo. Well, I wish I were that young, but they’re not kids. They do strive to be the best. It’s been fascinating to watch their progress.
Did you also notice that Miku and Kanami pumping their fists, clapping, and cheering for Akane during her drum solo. How many other bands have you seen do that for their bandmates??? I haven't seen it.
As I wrote on your last Band-Maid video; who needs anything but japanese girls...Lovebites, Band-Maid and some others. I dont know what you think of harsher vocals, but Nemophila has grown a lot in no time. I dont know why their drummers are always so happy...all these three bands have constantly smiling drummers 😀
They should be playing stadiums 🏟 all over the world 😂. They did just open for Guns N Roses on Sunday at 25k seat Saitama Arena in Tokyo, and definitely made some new fans based on the responses from social media 🤯😀🔥 Everything the do is good, most of it is great and much of it is exceptional. Gals wearing maid outfits (sorta) shouldn’t rock this hard! 😂 I recommend you now check out some newer songs: - “Manners” - official MV - “Warning” - official MV - “ After Life” - official MV - “Blooming” - official MV Then - “No God” - official live video - “Manners / Black Hole” - official live video But you can’t go wrong with any song 🤷🏻♂️🎼🤘🏼🔥✌🏼😀 Band-Maid Members (Simple Version) - [ ] Miku (ME-coo), 31 - Rhythm Guitar, Second Vocals, Founder, Pigeon, Primary Lyricist, Red Flower 🌺 Chief Spokesperson, PO!! - [ ] Misa (ME-sah), 30 - Bass, Barefoot Assassin - [ ] Akane (AH-kah-nay), 32 - Drums, Gorilla - [ ] Kanami (Kah-NAM-e), 31 - Lead Guitar, Princess, Primary Music Composer - [ ] Saiki (Psyche), 28 - Vocals, The Ice Queen, Quality Control, secondary lyricist, Blue flower 💎 Take care and rock on 🤘🏼

Thanks :) Akane is amazing but Misa is even more so- and so are the rest :) You just need to hear more songs! Try the blooming or warning MV's - or the daydreaming MV for a power ballad.
next reaction. VOB 'SABOTAGE' (BEASTIE BOYS COVER) VOB 🇮🇩 LIVE FULL AT PASIWALI FESTIVAL. TAIWAN.10/23/2022 VOB AMAZING SUPER TALENT VOB BAND ROCK 3 GIRLS HIJABERS FROM 🇮🇩👍🤟🤟🤟
Kanami & Akane also played together before BAND-MAID...AND!!... in the early days of BAND-MAID on another project....Akane played drums for Kanami when Kanami needed drums for her compositions before BAND-MAID....That's why when Kanami was asked to the join the band...She asked Akane if she'd join with her as they was gonna need a drummer...Plus Akane lived just up the road from Kanami.(at the time) So it was easy for them to get together.
Lead singer Saiki is the baby of the group at 28. Bassist MISA is 30. The other three are all 31. Both MISA and Miku celebrated birthdays on the U.S. tour that just ended about a week ago.
And Misa and Miku were both celebrated by American fans in a beautiful and cheerful manner. The ladies felt honored and rejoiced from the heart. And Japanese fans as well. (I saw a photo showing Miku laughing with her mouth wide open on stage.) If someone was there at 3 shows in SD, LA and Dallas, I would like to say "Thank you" and "Lucky you !" to that guy.
@@flugelhornoldman1362 I was at the Dallas show. I was hoping that it would be special since it was Miku's birthday show. It was more than special, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen (I have seen a lot of concerts since my first one in 1977)
Didi SueSue just say Band-Aid???? Yes she did.....Lol! The youngest is 29yo ..Saiki Band-Maids music videos are VERY good, so don't just settle on LIVE videos or you will be missing a lot. Their 2018 LIVE videos are NOT on RU-vid any more and the Shiubya LIVE videos are few. Any official LIVE title after Feb 20 2020 is a LIVE STREAM only, no audience and the audience drives their energy. LIVE stream is okay but no audience takes away the energy they are capable of. There are a lot of new Fan-Cams out now from their OCT USA tour but the audio is so-so, but you can see their energy. Watch their "MC" videos from their US tour, talk about fun!!
I agree that many of their videos are very good and I prefer the MV over live in a few cases as well. Compared to this video (Freedom LIVE) the LIVE stream concert feels very sad as that was right when Covid shut the world down and they couldn't do the live show they had planned. So to that point I probably like the Manners (MV) and Warning (MV) over the LIVE stream versions but there is no doubt these ladies rock our world on any stage.
There are a couple of websites overseas that still have lots of their live concert footage from before the pandemic. Bilibili is a good place to start.
@@Allen-fi4ke I am VERY surprised you comment was allowed by RU-vid. I've tried many times to point reactors to that site and every time my comment get removed by RU-vid.
If you guys want to see how good they actually are, then check out their live from their fans. I would like to suggest you to Vladimir Chupin's channel if you want to see the best fan cam version.(This guy dedicated his life for this band) The audio quality may not as great as the official but it can be proved. "NO GOD" is a must.
If you think The Warning is good, you should check out Trident. 3 person band just like The Warning. I like The Warning, but Trident Japanese girls blows them out of the water. It's just my opinion. I'm not Japanese or Mexican, I just love great music.
They are 29 - 31 years old. This concert was several years old. Btw' It's compulsory music education in Japan. Kids must master 2 instruments in primary school. In HS, the girls continue on to marching and sitdown brass bands, or club rock bands supported by the school, boys tend to go to sports. This is the results of there culture, work hard, be humble, Po! 🦍
