Fun little fact Kanami the lead guitarist writes the music for the band with input from Misa (Bass) and Akane (drummer) then finalizes it. She usually tries hard to ensure the they get a large part of the action. This song is a goof example. Bass plays a big part.

Yep, we all felt that love at first sight with MISA and her bass.

Japan in general has a different bass culture than we do, they really enjoy their slapping in there. Check out multiple bass covers made by Japanese on YT and you notice that slapping and pulling the string with you finger so it snaps back at the pickup is everywhere. Japan has different musical culture that's separated from the west and Europe and that's a great thing. They make stuff that's sounds like them.

Probably one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Certainly is in my opinion.

I recommend Don't You Tell Me live because it has a great back and forth between the bass and lead guitar. I found out about this band in January and can't stop listening to their music.

first time I heard this song, it stuck in my head for three days

Simply the best Rock band on the planet. Every member of the band brings something unique in playing style but, together, they are an unstoppable force. They don't do polite intros but just slam you back in your seat as they come roaring out of the gate. Basically, they are Led Zeppelin for the 21st century (I saw them in 79 but have yet to see this brilliant band...yet. Talking of Zeppelin, Jimmy Page went to see them in concert and went backstage to tell Akane, the drummer, that she was up there with Bonham. Can't think of a better compliment on her skills. There's a couple of amusing and interesting clips of Miku, the ridiculously gorgeous rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist and creator and founder of the band, giving her always mesmerisng mid concert 10 minute chat to the audience. It gives you a glimpse of how relaxed and lacking in ego these women are, the way they all interact with the audience while relaxing - in the middle of a concert. Even the amateur live stuff of theirs is awesome! They are just amazingly tight!!! Misa is awesome! But then again, they are all incredible, and bring an integral part to the sound. For evidence to this fact check out the 2/14/20 version of Domination.

They often go totally haywire with mixing styles and also their drummer Nao is one of the big inspirations for Band Maid drummer Akane. Would you like another bass queen? Check out Doll$boxx. I suggest the songs "Take My Chance" and "Shout Down". Also give Gacharic Spin a go, they are the same band as Doll$boxx minus the singer. Then there is the old guard of Japanese Hardrock/Metal in the band Ningen Isu. Try "Heartless Scat" or "Namahage"! These guys have been around for quite a while and are just now getting more recognition internationaly which they deserve every single bit of!!
