Many thanks Helen, yesterday my wife and I bought ingredients for Banh Cuon and Banh Boa, today is a holiday in New Zealand and we're having a Vietnam dinner, also bought ourselves a new non stick pan on special, thank you for a clear and great recipe, looking forward to trying them especially the crepe making :) Kind Regards from the Waikato, NZ

My family and I go ga-ga over these! I hated making them because I had to stand by the stove for what seems like forever to make them when I was growing up. My mom also used a non-stick pan with a lid like you did. Works great!

Already tried this and it was so delicious... since I didnt have enough black mushroom, I used the fresh mushroom in the filling as well! It took many efforts to cook this dish but it was worth and it made me miss Vietnam badly :( Thanks Helen :P

Hi Helen! My mom's friend made her banh cuon by covering a pot of boiling water with new women's stockings! The batter was able to stay on top of it and steam perfectly and thinly! She makes it every weekend and sell it as a side business. I hope this helps the next time you make banh cuon!

It's nice to finally get to see you in a video, you're soo cute and pretty! Really appreciate this recipe, my mom tries to make it all the time the traditional way but it's always a fail. I like the vegetarian (meatless) version better but I bet it doesn't work that well with the pan method.

Hi Helen! I tried this recipe and it was great. I was wondering if you can do a steam version? I have bought the banh cuon po, will this mix work on the steamer? Will I still have to add 1000ml water if I use the steamer? Thanks for sharing!

Hi Helen! My mom just told me that making the vegetarian version over the pan isn't as good as the traditional steam method as the pan can't make it as thin :)
