I am sorry to hear about your struggles. There is never a good time for losing income but I would think it is especially painful when you are in the process of selling one boat and buying another. Your channel is so refreshing and positive, FB is missing the point. I will continue watching you on RU-vid but don’t forget there are other platforms out there like Locals and Rumble. Sorry for what you’re going through with Facebook. I’ve never seen anything on your channels that would even be come close to some kind of censorship (in my actually quite liberal view). I’m glad you have a relationship with U Tube to appeal whatever AI challenges arise. I hope you can get the Facebook “demonetization” settled and get the income flow back. Wish I could offer some advice other than just stick to it and keep trying. I’m a huge fan of you and your channel. You do provide a nice “escape” to the joyous side of the cruising life. And some very courageous navigating the challenges after Naughty Dog was disabled not so long ago. So please keep us posted. I think you have tremendous support from your loyal followers.
Plus many channels dive there an tell the same story. It's the folklore of the sea .. I really do find it crazy .. that each worker interprets the Facebook rules differently the fact that the company has no consistency with these so-called rules and it depends on who's looking at it it seems it's really crazy I don't ever see it anything they've ever filmed or that I've ever watched that was wrong in any way

Bobby, you’re content is tame compared to much of what I’ve seen on FB and YTube. Seems like if it fits their narrative just about anything goes. Been battling health issues and several surgeries. I’m very grateful for your efforts as I escape and live vicariously through your travels. Don’t let the suits get you down, we need the diversion you and your team provide. 8-10 years ago you could get demonetized or ‘kicked out of Adsense’ on RU-vid . This happened to Dylan winter with his sailing channel ‘keep turning left’ and the algorithm gave him. No recourse at all for ever, they also demonitized a much bigger channel about logging trucks . The fact that you can even get to talk to somebody is a lot better that the bad old days . I made a Statement on Facebook about a Tree House with a long flight of Steps . I said that there were too many Steps for me. That's all I said, FB came back and said that this statement goes against their Community Standards ! WTF ! Give me a break FB. Bobby, I've followed your videos for quite some time! I can say that your videos are never crude, disturbing, off color, personally harmfu,l or anything other than as you describe it "an escape"- with interesting locations, beautiful ladies, and informative stories about travel, boating lifestyle, and alternative activities to improve one's education and experience! The problem, for them, lies not in what you post but quite frankly what you refuse to post. You don't take sides, or offer an opinion or comment based on an algorithm created in my opinion, that seems to do more harm than good. You have grown IMHO Bobby because lifes events have molded and shaped the man you have become. It's a shame to see it happen, but you have the correct attitude and will overcome even this unfair chapter! BTW, I'm am happy to see the new influence a certain lady has brought in your life. You seem happy, the unpleasant situation not withstanding! All the best!
Thanks for this podcast. It is a very good introduction to Facebook and RU-vid way of dealing with people who make their fortunes. I had a few post on Facebook that were banned and I am still trying to figure out why. The problem with both platforms is that they have become so ubiquitous that there are not much alternative to them. They are almost monopolies. If you want to make a living out of your content they are really no alternative. Now, when a business reaches the status of monopoly it either requires to be broken apart or to become a public utility. As nothing is being done on the first point then it should fall in the second category. As such, it should be mandated to support the constitutional right of people about freedom of speech and not put any judgement on it. What may be needed is for content creators to unite and start to put some weight on those businesses. If you look at it, you are workers who are being refused their wages. This is not a political opinion. There is the need for justice here. Thanks for the content you created. I am looking forward for more.
Been following you for years now and it started in the winter up here in NEPA on Sunday afternoons. The reason? Because your videos provide escape before, and after, going out in the cold to shovel snow before going back to work on Monday. Yes I do keep watching your videos because it is escapism. I try to watch all your videos, I subscribe and like each video. Your channel is one of the most relaxing and entertaining channels. You’ve also helped me understand how channels like yours make money. Something I definitely don’t object too. Instead of treating Facebook as a source of income, think of it more as a way to get people to watch RU-vid. The money can be the icing on the cake. There is no reasonable explanation for the actions of Facebook demonetizing your channel in my opinion.Love your videos and i find them very relaxing and enjoyable,just people having fun,an opportunity for me and so many to see many places i would never have the opportunity to.The sharing of your expertise in sailing and so many things which are very educational,you are a very classy guy Bobby and work very hard on your content which is obvious by the quality. A lot of content makers also load up their videos to Locals and Rumble where you don’t have the confines of RU-vid, it’s a back up as well as another place to watch videos for those that don’t want to use RU-vid.
Just keep doing your thing. Most of us found you with out FB. FB is going thru a wakeup period right now where people don't want put up with thier 'stuff'...they need to loosen thru grip and keep social media open for all without an iron fist.. they have gone too far but that will swing back at some point when people have had enough. Hi Bobby. I personally ally think you are on the right Track here. The corporate companies that you you your self have become a part of in order to make a living are now controlling you in a lot of ways. We land lubbers are in the same context. So although we arch your videos and feel a moment of escapism and and go to sleep dreaming of what you do and where you are I know that it is not all pins and lemonade as being in business my wife and I know the constraints and struggles of being a businesss. The difference is you get to struggle in beautiful locations of which can perhaps make it feel more worth while. I’m very pleased that you are putting it out there as I am sure many cruisers are feeling the same frustration. It’s a fine line Bobby. We learned a lot from you at the sailboat show last fall. We enjoyed your company and your knowledgeability about RU-vid as a business model, so when you are frustrated enough to comment publicly, we take notice. You are not the problem I personally feel like the algorithms need to be updated and refined to be able to decipher more refined aspects of videos posted. I don't know what the answer is. The platforms are definitely getting out of hand and changing our world in a bad way. If enough people see stories like yours maybe other voices can once again be heard. Like you said, you go out of your way to make entertaining content so people can escape all the craziness for a while. Yet they even come after you for no good reason. I always enjoy getting behind the scenes information. content platforms have a lot of power, and have the impossible job of monitoring all the content on that is published. I don’t know if perfection will ever be achieved however there’s definitely room for improvement. Especially with some of the profit social media platforms generate.
I left Facebook 14 years ago, I’m still haven’t been able to get my page closed. I’ve tried everything they tell me, even uploading my driver license and they still don’t delete it. I feel your pain Bobby. Keep up the good work.
I was removed permanently from Facebook for being underage and posting videos with content of porn. Have never posted a video, EVER and how old do you have to be? Also, you are right there is absolutely no recourse for the average person and you were lucky to have connections. Love your content and it brightens my day, everytime.

Bobby, First - I am glad that I just discovered your podcast today. I am not a RU-vid creator. I am a computer literate grandpa. I can understand your Facebook frustrations. I have learned that, in business, I do not have to torture myself bowing down to a demanding customer. I could walk away. I did. Did I lose revenue? Sure. You might loose 30%; but you will be better in the long run. This year I have lost 18% of my retirement. Am I concerned? Yes. Will I cave in? NO ! We are moving forward with guided caution. I know you will too. Stand tall. Make you best decision. You have been blessed. Walk proudly ahead.

Excellent video and audio quality, much improved. Your right to say it, but understand, it's the game you choose to play and you do not control the rule book or policy of the content outlet. Bobby, you make great videos. Sorry to hear about your issues with FB. Unfortunately, I hear this way too often. FB and RU-vid commonly demonetize and/or censor videos they don’t agree with. Never thought I’d see this level of censorship in the US. I do think in the long run other platforms will be available where content creators can create without the fear of censorship. But as you said, for now this is the world we live in. Sad.
Keep moving forward! One tack i see others doing with this issue cennn sore ship is posting links to Rumble on FB and YT pulling viewers with introductions or pushing your show! Many ways to skin a fish! I will be watching !
I can sympathize with you. This is also happening across multiple platforms even a platform like Amazon. I am a reseller with Amazon trying to do the right thing, the moral thing. But it gets creepy because you never really know if you are right or wrong and the inability to reach someone who cares is almost absent. To me it's a machine so for my team this is a frontier and like all frontiers, it’s not stable, it’s not always predictable and it can be scary. You've done a great job building your brand and posting good quality content over the years. Social media is a strange beast, it can be arbitrary and capricious with what it says goes and doesn't go. I get it, but where the line is drawn is up to the private company. Maybe the goal is to get big enough that u don't have to take it. BTW, I had no idea you were regularly posting to FB, am amazed that u were getting such a large % of income from them. I despise watching vids on their platform.

Bobby, I do understand you feeling very intrepid about making that video. I do believe that you can draw a parallel to the quote from unknown " If your government is big enough to give you everything you want, it is big enough to take everything you have" All you need to do is swap the word government with platform and switch everything with money or "monetize"
