Jim, I totally know what you mean about not needing the key to drive an old car. In high school I got a ‘72 Buick Skylark and by best friend got a ‘76 Chevy Nova. Our senior year (‘99) we’d go camping a lot on the weekends, not at legit campgrounds, just random places in the woods where we could get away with partying and not risking our parents finding out. One night we left late and it was dark and my friend was bombing down this old bumpy dirt logging road in the Nova, when all of a sudden he realized he left his packa smokes in the trunk. Old cars didn’t have a latch to pop the trunk, you needed the key to open it. He didn’t feel like stopping (and he was crazy) so he just told me to grab the wheel. He pulled the key out of the ignition, yet the car kept going, and I kept driving fast as he climbed out the drivers window, up onto the roof of the car, down the back window and trunk, and held onto the fast moving/bouncing car by the bumper alone, while he popped the trunk, got his smokes, lit one, and climbed back up the moving car and back into the window to take the wheel from me!!! Just thought I’d share this funny story :) Oh and Ed, your comics fucking rule!
