Just to update, (I'm one of the volunteers) we were successful In our community buyout, we now are raising funds to restore Bannockburn House. We still haven't opened the safe, and there's a mysterious locked room in the Servants quarters that we haven't managed to open yet, and we cleared the drawing room (the room the fire was in) out! 😊
I have lived in Falkirk for almost 50 years and been to Bannockburn many times but this is the first time Ive ever heard of Bannockburn House! My goodness, this is a must for my family and I to visit soon!
Thank you for all of your hard work on restoring this historic building. It is not just the past; it is the future of the community for generations to come.
Amazing to see a house like this with so many of its original features intact! So many get sold to developers who strip out all the fireplaces etc and take the roof off and then leave it to rot. Well done to the community for preserving this gem!
It's great to hear that a community so appreciates its history that it works together to save such a precious, old building. Well done to all those involved; I wish you every success!

I hear fantastic work is still being done to this great place. Grew up just 5 minutes walk from here but have never actually been down to the house. I believe there's an open day near the end of August for people to visit

i know a guy named Robert de Bruce. He's in Fiji and would now be about 60yrs old. His sister was named Stephanie de Bruce, about 55yo. wonder if they are descendants.
Ok we get the Bonnie Price Charlie bit - how about another documentary detailing everyone thats known to have lived in the house since it was built - a proper history of the house not all this Bonnie Prince Charlie shit dressed up for the pea brained masses
