This film looks at the work of Synergy Organization, which is helping the artisanal bamboo makers of Manpura, Jatrapura and other villages in the Harda districts, Madhya Pradesh.
This traditional art of bamboo handicrafts is slowly dying as bamboo products are being replaced by plastic products. Craftsmen used to sell their bamboo crafts at low costs, which was even affecting their livelihoods. Synergy Sansthan is working to revive bamboo craft, improve the quality of the products using modern machinery and improving the livelihoods of these artisanal craftsmen.
The film is made under the Green Hub Central India (GHCI) fellowship, a project of Dusty Foot Foundation and Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK), that looks at empowering youth in environment conservation, sustainable agriculture and livelihood through the digital medium.
