BAR. The Best Autoloader Bar None. 

I had significant jamming on my new 30 Ott six mark III BAR . There is an adjustable gas block under the forearm . If anyone is interested … I loosened the number 2 Allen screw . It keeps the adjustment screw where you put it . I turned the adjustment screw all the way in , turned it three complete turns out . Jammed ! (my first attempt.) Then I turned it a half turn more. ( my 2nd attempt) It’s still continue to jam . (3rd time was a charm .) I turned it one more half turn , If anyone is counting, that is four complete turns out . I shot 10 rounds through it and it did not jam . Everything ejected correctly If anyone is having this problem, here’s an answer . Maybe not the answer for everyone. But the gas block can be adjusted . Just do it slowly . I’m not saying everyone should try this . Happily, this worked for me .

Here is an idea. Take a Browning BAR MK3 DBM .308 - Thread the barrel 5/8x24 ( to use AR-10 muzzle devices) - Convert magazine to the SR-25 type magazine. ( Like the Magpul,D&H or Lancer 10rd magazine) - Add iron sights. - Slightly larger charging handle for winter use. - Polymer picatinny rail section for a flashlight for night use. You can also take a Browning BAR MK3 non DBM model - Thread barrel for 5/8x24 (.30 caliber) to use AR-10 muzzle devices. - Larger charging handle for winter use - Aluminum or polymer picatinny rail for using a bipod. Such as the Javelin Lite Bipod. Which is very light and fast. - Offer a 24" match barrel in Magnum calibers. ( Special Order) - Butt pad - Sling studs.

People say autoloaders are not as accurate as bolts, and I would generally agree, or say that you really have to work at it to get one to be as accurate as a bolt. But I have a BAR that I hand load for, and it can deliver .25 - .5 MOA groups consistently. And much of the recoil is absorbed by the action. If I had to sell all but 1 of my rifles, I'd keep the BAR in part because it is a special edition with engraving of an elk hunt on the action and a beautiful stock engraved with elk horns, but also because it is a caliber that will take anything in North America.

Just purchased an MK3 in .308 and it's great. I've only stretched it out to 250 yards. At 100 yards with Sierra gold it's .5 MOA but that might be me as well

I own 2 BAR rifles in 7mm remington mag.and in 270 wsm. I had the 7mm safari grade since they first came out, it has always worked flawless, and to be an automatic shoots tight groups if the shooter can do his part, I have the boss on them which is awesome . I have 35 years experience with Browning guns and I have found they are ,the best there is.

Mr Cummings l bought a 2019 model in 270 win with boss and I have had problems with the gun as soon as I got it. At first it was not ejecting every time. I look in my manual it said that i can send it to one of your qualifying warranty gun smiths. I called South Land gun shop in S.C.and they told me that they could fix it with no charge and I did. They sent the gun and it was still doing the same thing. I sent the gun back and they sent it back to me and and the but stock was broken. So I called Browning and they said that they would fix it with no charges I sent it to Browning. About 2 months later they sent me a bill to refit stock and make sure gun works fine. I got the gun back and now its not sending cartriges in all the way I have to push the bolt just a little some times. Now I have got $1800,00 in this gun and the Damm thing is still not right

Hey Chuck here , I bought the new BAR Mark three in a 30 Ott six . I shot 20 rounds plus through it . It will not eject the anti-brass . I can’t find any information on how to adjust the gas block . Can you please send a video on how to do this? Thank you for your time .

Does Browning still make the MK II

Bring back the Grade 4 and 5 guns 9 (unaltered aesthetically and all steel ) you can charge an absolute premium for them esp. if they are Belgian or up to Belgian standard...

Always wanted to find a video showing accuracy of the Browning BAR 5 shot groups.?.. or even two or three shots as though you were hunting.. and miss the first shot or two..lol

I like the BAR, what I don't like is that you can't change the LOP (shorter or longer), and stock height. If they can fix that, it would be a perfect all weather hunting rifle.

Give me a bolt action if I am going to battle with it. New browning autoloading shotguns and rifles have too many jamming complaints to trust. I own three brownings.

The Benelli is the only thing close. I 've been shooting a 06 BAR for almost 40 years. Also have a BOSS model. Only con is they are a bit heavy fully clothed, but all around great firearms.

Is that a composite floor plate? If so, go back to steel or aluminum. I don’t like the plastic feel on an expensive firearm, I have an xbolt and I’m sad that it has a composite mag instead of a steel mag

Browning, please bring back the Mark II -- or at least, revise the look of the Mark III. The classic, sleek lines look WAY better than the sharp angles on the new version.

It sucks that this rifle only comes in a minimum cal of 243. Not fun for British territories that are limited to 22 or less. I'd like it in 204 Ruger, & 17 Remington. Both of which, out preforms the 5.56 NATO. They are seriously under rated, mainly because of not being advertised as much as the rest. Would be a dream come true. After all these years, Henry finally made their rifles Side Loadable, now it's your turn to make dreams come true. :D .17 Remington, & .204 Ruger. Make them! lol :D ps: the 17 Remington FireBall can go the way of the Do-Do bird for all i care. Ugly case, ugly bullet, & not even close to the ballistics of the 17 Remington. They need to change it's name. Confusing 17 Rem ammo with 17 Rem FB is sickening. Anywho, when you do make them, make them in the newest sexiest rifle versions you guys make... not the outdated ugly junk. :) Regards, the biggest fan. :D
