Hope you enjoyed : ) Not serious, but I try and make it true. Although, for some of them I cannot help but just meme it XD (I started with Romano-British because I have played them, using a Mod, and they are one of the best factions there is.)

Franks: You want to play as barbarians... but you also like paved roads.

Wrong- Romano-British: "Are far too lazy, to begin with anything more than two settlements." Correct- Romano-British: Want to role play as King Arthur with his Graal Knights, conquering the pagan lands in the name of the lord.

I always preferred the ERE because of the Sassanids. I liked balancing the conventional war with the Sassanids against my perpetual terror of barbarians showing up to burn down Constantinople. It felt like I had each foot in a whole different world.

Western Roman Empire: Masochist

Actually, the Burgundians and Lombards are really palette swaps of the Alemanni, not the Franks.

Reminded of that time I wiped out the ENTIRE Frankish horde in one battle. (They attacked one of my settlements en mass, bled them dry and just as I was about to lose my backup force consisting entirely of Samatian Cavalry decided to join the battle and hit them in the rear in the city streets routing and running down all of them RoTC ghost army style).

What? No no... I don’t like the Berbers...what do you mean? Of course not....why...why would I?

I mean, Alexander has kind of a replayability and that is "how can i beat the campaign faster than the last time".

There's another kind of Western Roman Empire player. The type that likes taking a decadent, diseased and dying empire and revitalising it more than building another empire from scratch. I prefer taking factions that by all rights should be past their heyday and leading them back to glory. Its the same reason I like to play the Reunited Kingdom in Fourth Age Total War, and quite like the idea of the Ottoman Empire in Empire Total War (even though I'm not really good or patient enough at Empire Total War to pull it off these days).

I actually played a looong campaign for Roxolani. Never settled before my hordes scorched the entire Middle East, and I mean grey from Egypt to Alania, with all foreign factions presence extinguished, my coffers filled with treasures of most ancient civilizations. Once it had been done, I settled in Antioch, Jerusalem and Alexandria, and from the ashes of the East rapidly arose an anormous Empire, that replaced the Eastern Roman empire in both power and territory (in a nice shade of blue, might I add). It was a beat tedious at times, but I thoroughly enjoy sacking mechanic and watching your treasury packed with five full numbers.

Also, the thing about the Roxolani.... It is actually one of my favourite campaigns. As a matter of fact, I conquered the Middle East with them by first converting Persia to Christianity, then conquering the Eastern Roman provinces. But I do agree with the idea that Sarmatia is a difficult campaign !

I have about 200 hours into rtw and I am only playing my first Barbarian invasion campaign now.

I may be the one person alive who has played the Berbers more than most of the other factions in BI. I just enjoy being the underdog.

First turn playing Barbarian Invasion as WRE the ERE attacked me... I was kind of astounded how broken the game was. They couldn't even fix the basics.

I actually play the Roxolani, they are my favorite. I also like the berbers and celts.

As a Goff player...Black and Orange are kickass for a factions color palette.

Rome 1, Barbarian Invasion, and Medieval 2 are the best total war games hands down. Loved the part about the Huns lmao so true

I remember way back in the day I used to love going into custom battle as the Romano-British. So cool to me. But was gutted that their heavy inf wasn't as good as the Roman Comitatenses

This video is addictive, to put it bluntly. What is more, the WRE part is pure ASMR, to me! Well, I admit I've never tried leading WRE back to glory (or leastways, to honourable survival) but even though I'm more of a Sassanids/Lombardii/Celts player, sooner or later I'm going to take the needed time to undergo one, big, long, deep campaign... with the good old Western Roman Empire! ;-)

Goths or the WRE all the way. WRE because of the difficulty holding it all together and then repelling the hordes and the Goths purely for not allowing myself to horde whilst trying to hold the Samaritans, Huns and Vandals off

I have played 2 campaigns in rye barbarian invasion: Eastern Rome and roxelani. So your technically right cuz it’s 50/50 so I haven’t played them more than any other faction. But all jokes aside they are really fun cuz their peasants are mounted and as someone who loves cav or more specifically horse archers they were actually really fun as the other h/a factions start off big and/or are locked in wars/the sarmatians.

My fourth campaign in Barbarian Invasion was the Celts. Took over all of Western Rome (aside from a bit in Africa), plus the Franks and Saxons by Winter of 400 AD on the hardest mode. Gallowglasses are powerful.

Well, apparently I’m a weirdo I actually prefer the ERE to the WRE, because of their better unit roster, simpler start position, and more diverse enemies to fight

Romano-British are so much fun. Just got back into the game and did RB 3 times before changing it up to… Celts.. lol! I guess I’m a Celt player. I’m happy on my little island just building taverns and cesspits.

Well, lets say I prefer Vandals and Sarmatians. That means historic accuracy and unusual playstyle with special, truly unique units.

Romano british: You want to play as the Romans without being bothered by the barbarians Franks: You cannot play as Rome, so you have to play as a barbarian, and you choose the 'least barbaric' faction. Western Roman Empire: You love the Romans so much and wish you can change history. Eastern Roman Empire: You love battling on bridges with archers, and like spreading Christianity Sassanids: Horse archers, now heavily armored as cataphracts! Franks is basically playing Barbarians, but with an actually great unit and building roster. Potentially going Christian for the role play, I guess. But really, feels almost more like a Barbarian version of Rome than other Barbarians to me, with their actually decent buildings and their core infantry being the same kind of spear-throwing spearmen and sword infantry combo. Sassanids also is imo just for people who wanted to play Parthia, but with infantry that can actually be useful. Personally, I'm a Sarmatian player though. Nice options of going for the Balkans or into Persia, the building tree is kinda crap, the infantry only has one good melee option (Bosporanian Infantry is quite solid at its job though), the foot archers and cavalry are the best in the whole game though. Sarmatians were the first faction I played in Barbarian invasion and I returned every so often. Vandals and Goths actually had me disappointed when I realised their archers are not even close to the Sarmatians, given the Sarmatians are so damn accurate (to the point they can reliably prevent walls getting mined by just setting the entrance ablaze). Also, I wouldn't say BI doesn't do much for battles. Anyone who played a lot in the Eastern Med will realise the lack of phalanxes and how this causes battles to be a good bit more fluid. Also because way more factions field good cavalry and missile cavalry.

Mad late to this video but I started playing the Romano British because I just finished a college class on it. In game it’s VERY Ahistorical but yes having 2 settlements is a lot simpler.

My Berber trick is to use Roman foundries and awesome temples of Mithras so you can make decent units.

Western Roman Empire: because pain is optimal, not optional. Lol but in reality I try to speedrun the campaign map, conquering every faction to convert each settlement on the map into Roman culture to avoid culture penalties, and then maximize every building in every territory. It's as if to say THIS Rome will never fall.

I always play MELKOR's videos at 1.5 speed so then I forget and every video sounds like being spoken by chipmunks Also, never palyed BI but if I did I'd probably play roxolanni because of the ALANS in attila

Bought medieval 2 definitive edition /Kingdoms 5 months ago. Amazing game. And for 2006 I love its simple yet Impressive Graphics and how they dont bother me one bit. After seeing the amount of variety in medieval 2 I was looking for a new total war game. My second total war game to be exact. I wanted gunpowder battles. Artillery. So basically empire Napoleon or Shogun 2. I chose fall of the Samurai. Was disappointed in the literally No variety in units. Its so little when it comes to custom battles that its sad. Thank god ..that its a steam.game. I downloaded over 30 Unit mods that added hundreds of units to the game. And now I have more hours in fall of samurai than medieval. 900 hours fos. So far. And the graphics in fall of samurai are great. Now this brings me to Barbarian Invasion. The ONLY reason I bought this or considered it was because I saw That there were a few total war games made for MOBILE!!!! $4.99 for barbarian invasion. My god yes even if it turned out bad. But it didn't. Yes the graphics of barbarian invasion make.medieval 2 look like a triple a title. But the game is there. Its all there. And it's a nice little Mini version of medieval 2 on my phone in ways. And that's worth it. Last thing. If you get mobile version. Make sure to give your self time to get used to the controls and Camera movement etc. It took me two days to get it down comfortably. Although Artillery choices kind of blow. Onagera scorpions ballista's is really all you get. But it is barbarian era so.... My fav faction to use is .... Ummmm Playing As western or eastern roman empire is great they got it all. But playing as Sassanids is fun. Although I like playing as Vandals too or goths

hey melkor I dare you to win the campaign with the Berbers it is like the numidia campaign (which is already difficult) but it is 50 times more difficult

I like the roman factions for her Comitasenses it's strong infantry, the francs for the infantry (axe frank) , thé Huns for cavalry and the sasanids for the mixt in histoire army.
