The Wanderer is awesome for a bard, and on theme. Build your bard right, and you can craft anything and everything in the game, and do so better than any other class due to expertise, as in the case of enchanting items. Also, my half orc occultist bard would like to have a word with you. He goes bananas on his bongos, and then bongos the heads of his enemies with a two-handed maul. In many fights, he was the last party member standing. He wasn't terribly charismatic, but he tried. And that counts.
Haha Love this post. I have a Dwarven Bard name Gertrude, and she is the same. I really wished they allowed beards on female dwarves in this game. I need to write a stern letter to someone. Cheers!
Heroism spell is great at lower levels, especially if you buff an armored melee ally with it. +3-4 temporary hitpoints restored every round can drastically increase tankiness and reduce healing required if making use of terrain and bottlenecks. Faerie fire can drastically increase offensive capabilities of a party so long as they’re attack roll based. It’s effects can be combined with bless. Faerie fire being a Dex save makes it effective vs dragons or other highly armored creatures with low/middling dexterity.
College of hope subclass- thundering voices you said it affects everyone in an AOE however does it not just affect one or the closest opponent? that would make a big difference?
They shifted Cutting Words from a Reaction in 5e to a Bonus Action, *but* it applies to basically every die the target rolls for the whole turn cycle. It's an interesting change, and can make a huge impact in combat but it pushes you to throw your dice out turn-after-turn and not just when needed.
I agreed. This is more in line with what they are trying to do with One DND and not 5th edition. However, I does lick down that big bad who makes 3 attacks. Cheers!
am I reading the college of heroism wrongly? It says it damages the enemy closest to the recipient, so not AOE but a single hit? also I don't take as many high level spells because of limited spell slots, but that might be wrong on my part. Agree with you otherwise though.
You are correct. It is one target that is closest to the ally you cast bardic inspiration on. If I said AOE, I apologize. I agree that only being able to cast a few higher level spells that you may not want to have as many options. Thanks for the feedback and post. Cheers!
Hi, it's a good idea to have a Bard (Lore) with academic instead of a Wizard/Sorc in a party composition with Paladin (Oath of tirmar), Ranger (Swift blade for Melee dps) and Druid (Circle of the Land) ?
Sleep is great, it just not scale well. At level one it is a beast, even adding addition dice at higher levels does not help unless you soften them up first. That is my only problem with sleep is after about level 3 when mobs start getting more HP it is not as effective as other spells. Cheers!
The only languages that are important are Terran and Old Tirmarian in the main campaign, and Giant in the lost valley. Other than that the others are optional. Also there are items, spells and scrolls to be able to speak and understand all languages.
@@VaniverseGaming If you move your mouse over those 'i' icons in the character creation menu, they tell you Terran is not used. The same is true for skills.
Well unfortunately they did not have access to the Wizards printed materials and only had access to the SRD. They other 4 subclasses homebrew. They tried to make them similar but I do think they missed the mark. The Hope bard is nice as a dedicated healer though. Cheers!
Performance and Slight of hand isn't used in Solasta, so why do you waste a proficiency and even an expertise on it? The other skill not used in Solasta is Investigation, the little white circle with the i tells you so. So I would never waste a proficiency or even expertise on these three, except it's automatically set by heritage, background or class. You'd be better of if you used the expertise on Athletic ore Arcana. Even History or Acrobatics would be a better choice.
