subscriber John reached to me. he is cleaning out a property that is in his family. while checking out an old truck and a outboard, this toolbox was up for grabs, lets drag it home and see what is in it. special thanks to john and john,
Hi guys, a bit of said news, this is the last clip of lilly as she passed away sat, after 16 years with us, She suffered from seizures pretty bad to the point she could not drink or eat, meds helped for a while. its been tuff as we do not have kids. loved our baby girl,
“We are all travelers in this world. From sweet grass to the packing house, from birth till death, we travel between the eternities”. Safe travels, Lilly!
Best movie ever! Pren Ritter was a great man. And sorry for your loss, Mustie. Lilly will be waiting for you in Heaven, buddy. But hopefully... that is a good long while out.
I enjoyed the home shop visit today,, that is where the magic started. It mimics the kind of shop the majority of your viewers possess. Lots of good memories there...
This reminds me of a friend a had maybe 25 years ago. He was a mechanic and had a lot of tools, but after an incident he got disabled and couldn't work on his cars anymore. I helped him with many repairs, he would be the eyes and I would be the hands. I have learned a lot from him and we always had a good time, he was a funny guy and often made me laugh. Unfortunetly he died and I lost a good friend. About 6 months after his death his wife phoned me and asked me to come over. I could take alle the tools from his workshop because that was what he wanted, she said. I still use a lot of his tools and I always think of him when I am tinkering with stuff.
Honest wife. A salute to her. I live in India. My late dad visited his daughters on the west coast and brought back stuff like made in US tool bits, hammer, garden tools from Costco (Before the craze to get them made cheaply in Chaina)! Excellent quality.
People like that struggled for year's slowly picking up tools as they went a long and it means alot to them that the tools are used and appreciated after they've gone 🙂👍🇮🇪 I've my dad's tools and he died 23 years ago and it's all I've left of him.
Heart is with you my friend...we too lost our yellow lab of 16 years on Christmas morning. She also on meds for months but now suffers no more. Rest in peace Lily, I will miss you
I am sorry to hear that You lost Lilly, you are lucky to have her that long. They become such a big part of our life. I am sure you have many nice memories and we found that after a short while, we go and find a puppy and fall in love again. Thanks Mustie for sharing Alberta Dave 🇨🇦😊🇨🇦
We will miss Lilly, too. She was the manager of the whole shebang. So sorry, but she had done her job so well and she was tired. Thank you for the tape tip. Rest in Peace, Lilly.
That blue Ideal tool is a cable gripper, designed for pulling Romex through conduit. Lay the cable in the long groove and then squeeze it. The tool flexes closed and grips the cable like a vise; makes it easy to pull really hard.
There is a lot more metal in that old box than in the new ones. I just bought a new one similar to that and the metal is really thin on it....but the price sure wasn't!
Had to put several long lived cats down in the past. The last one, Punkin, had for 19 yrs. I have found now that the best medicine is a trip to the shelters. There's always an animal there that can USE a loving home & Believe me, they always remember what you have done for them.
Always know Mustie, you and your wife gave Lily a good life. She was always happuest in in the love and safety of your arms. ....I can't remember the little prose prayer, but it tells of how she is in heaven, frolicing with other doggies, until one day she stops and understands you are there to join her......and runs to you, once again...... God Bless.....
Sorry about Lilly Mustie. She was a great dog and companion. A question for you. Do you still have the welding trailer you worked on? What plans do you have for it?
My joy at seeing a mid week video from Mustie1, was broken on hearing the sad news about Lilly. Comfort in knowing she had a long interesting and loving life, bless her. My viewing was made more poignant by thinking that these videos of barn finds/clearances often marks the ending of a chapter, like Lilly passing, where some of life's treasures, tools, vehicles move onto a new life. The tools and outboards have gone to a good home, and I'm sure will offer us interesting viewing. Thinking of you Mustie1
A few years ago I gave the same tool box with tools a metal top, cart, job box, and vise, to my oldest son, I was done working. Last year I gave the garage and everything in it to my youngest son.
Hey Darren. So sorry for your loss. Our "small furry types" are our children as well, and we're now empty-nesters for the first time in 25 years. It's tough, but you gave Lilly an amazing life, and I was always happy to see her frosted face in your videos. Thank you for your sunshine and happiness, and I hope my comment sends a bit back your way in this time of sadness.
Bummer, poor old friend. But, that dog lived a great life in a loving home. The #1 thing about them "roll-aways" is the wheels. Looks like it has some decent ones. A pretty good score!
I was going to comment that it was good to see Lily again, sad to hear she passed. Thank you for sharing her happy face with us, condolences to you and your wife on your loss.
Mustie, so, so sorry to hear about Lilly. She was part of your family, and I loved seeing her in your vids. What a sweet dog. My condolences to you & your wife on your loss. As for the video, when you started talking about the Beaver, you & I both said "horrible" at the exact same moment. LOL
Dogs are family. There was a study that says we connect more with our dogs then most people and I believe with it. I am saddened to hear this, take time for you and yours to mourn.
So sorry for your loss, Lilly was a sweetheart… The sweeper was a Rogers 154 later became Jacobsen. 16 hp Kohler single with double sided belt drive system. Rubber fingers scooped grass/leaves into back. Back door raised and floor tilts to dump. Tremendous time saver but didn’t work well on rough lawns.
condolences on the loss of Lilly,,, I think that memories of the dogs that we have owned in our lives never go away,,, at least not for me anyway,,, The pain from the loss will diminish but the memories will stay,,, :-)
Just went through the same thing three weeks ago. Our Poodle suffered from seizures starting around his second B-day. With us for 13 plus years. Sorry for Lily's loss. People who don't have pets don't understand the grief that comes with their loss.
Jay Vee it would be decent stuff for somebody that has none. Prob a couple thousand worth of $ if you had to purchase everything. Most people already have everything that’s in those so not really much value to them.
Yup, home shop small projects like motorized bicycles, small motorcycles, small Engines and others. We do miss the old funky joint Big motorcycles, cars, trucks, metal fabrication items and other large items the new shop. A nice balance. Awesome find that toolbox is.
I was happy to see Lily in the clip. Then the news of her passing, it was sad. Yes they are like our kids. She will be surly missed. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work.
Its always fun opening stuff up that you haven't seen before. Over the years I have bought heaps at auction. Sometimes you win with good gear and sometimes you don't. I still have pallets of stuff I haven't gone through yet from auction purchases. Once I finish getting all these motorcycles back to there former glory on my channel I'll start on repairing all the tools! Cheers Rick MTR
Congratulations on buying the "second best" tool storage system available to homeowners, I say "second best" only because the identical item is "Sears Bast Craftsman" is the exact same tool storage as Waterloo. I am one of the 5 Modelmakers' responsible for the development of this 40 "/18" combo. Enjoy it as it will last you a lifetime.
By brother in law inherited a toolbox like that from a mechanic that was renting his garage and years later decided to pull out the drawer liners and found 20 grand in cash under the liners
Really sorry to hear about lilly, hope you're both doing OK, great to see the old shop again, I just need my comfy slippers and I'm back home, keep up the great vlogs 👍
Sorry to hear about Lilly Mustie1 Dogs add so much to our lives every day they are with us. Its sad that their lives are so short. My sincere condolences over your loss. RiP Lilly.
Thank you for this one! I'm currently in the process of re-organizing my tools/garage, and I've always had trouble with this. Seeing your thought process and layout really helps. Sorry to hear about Lilly. You gave her a great life. 16 years for a lab is a great run!
My first dog was a lab. He had never been fixed and I refuse to fix my current dogs King lived to age 17 the only reason he passed was my mom had set out decon to kill the mice, well king when I lived at home would chase the mice into a bag, id grab the bag close it up and take it outside to drop a brick on it. Well I got older and moved out couldn't take the dog with me but th at was ok mom loved the dog too and I could go visit anytime. Well he got ahold of a mouse that had eaten decon. The decon got into his system, vet couldn't do anything for him we had to let him go. It was really hard I grew up with that dog and loved him. Had he not gotten sick from the decon he would have lived longer. We feed him table scraps and caned dog foods back in the 70s it was horsemeat today dog food sold at the store is trash not fit for a dog not even the exp crap your better off feeding a raw diet or table scraps minus stuff dogs shouldn't eat. Never feed you dog chillie he/she will gas you out of the house. No joke made that mistake once and only once. That dog would eat anything but grapes wouldn't touch them. He even ate my German cholate cake, and a whole box of chocolate cover cherries that was still sealed up. He would have eaten the can and dog food he could get into anything. If he could reach it he ate it. And he never got fat.
4:47 - "Not Sketchy At All " - Followed by me spewing coffee across my monitor. Great mid-week-Mustie ! Really sorry to hear about the pooch! Our thoughts are with your entire family. Be well.
Today is a day to celebrate the life of lilly!! May we cry tears of joy, and not sorrow!! Lilly always checked on you when you were working on things, to make sure you were ok. That shows the love of a true friend!! My God bless you and your wonderful wife, and thank you for sharing with us!!
I remember when the Lilly was a pupper. Old animals for some reason for the past one or two years keep making me really sad when i see them. I wish i could make all animals live for ever!
@@jefferyholland Understood. My first career was in a restaurant kitchen. Sharpening the knives became my thing. Every good kitchen had at least one Norton. Usually greasy and furry on the outside, but boy did they sharpen - belly and all. I first used a Lanski system and never looked back.
Never really cared for fixing stuff till I bought a house last year. I've rented my whole adult life. Now, I suddenly have to care. I saw a leaf blower the other day while thrifting. I figured it didn't work, but I gave it a yank. I remember from shop class how to listen for compression. I heard it, and I thought "Man, I'm tired of having to pay new prices for everything." So, I bought it. Did a google search and here I am. I squirt some gas into the carb on my leaf blower. It started right up for about 10 seconds. Haven't had a chance to do anything else, but I already know from this channel that I can chalk my purchase up as a win. Just saying I appreciate the handful of videos I've seen here. Keep it up.
Sorry to hear about Lilly, Mustie. I've been watching your channel for years and this is my first comment. Your dog was a fixture of the channel and will be missed. (Btw: your blue cabinet is the first time I heard of Vidmar. Kept my eyes peeled for one and last year found a small Lista in my local scrapyard. Heavy and solid. Bought it cheap and spent a few days cleaning it. Now it's my favorite toolbox. Thanks for the inspiration.)
Lista boxes (especially the older ones) can be one of the best for usability, as they were infinitely optioned for different partitions in the drawers. Older ones are pretty tuff, newer ones not really meant to be moved much(alot lighter metal in them).
The old shop! I have grown used to the new one. But it's nice to be back in the old one as well. I look forward to little mini projects in it. Stuff like your slot cars and that train set you got plus whatever home fixings come up. I'm sure it'll be nice for you as well not having to drive all the way to the big shop for a basic tool once you get supplied at home again. Stupid 'rona and the maskholes really put a damper on people's livelihoods the past year.
Lilly is showing her white hairs of wisdom. Another RU-vid I follow Andrew Camarata lost is beautiful Lab Levi this week. Thanks Mustie1 for putting Lilly on today.
@@mustie1 A day before Levi. This is very sad news, but God intended our pets to pass first so that they would never be left lonely if their master passes first. It's the way of all flesh, but extremely sad all the same.
@@spinb My dads got a small waterloo box i'm pretty sure...thing looks like somebody smashed a couple 2x4s into it and maybe ran it over lol. Still opens and closes to a degree. Always wondered where they came from. Not your typical name that you know where it comes from aka Snap on, Craftsman ect.
@@spinb Both Home Depot and Walmart were founded as American products only stores. Once Bill Wall died that went out the window with Sprawlmart. Home Depot got a new cost cutting at all cost Executive Board and they followed. Then Sears. It all started when Clinton gave in to CorpeeRATe interests pressure and gave China Most Favored trade status and allowed them to join the World Trade Federation they hadn't been allowed into when they went Communist along with Russia and Cuba..
