Briefly tried this bow out a while back, my sisters got it to try after using my recurve. I wasnt sure were the rest was, don't think I even tried the ambidextrous rests. Honestly didn't think it was for that. Also felt like the knocks kept hitting the handle sending it out wobbling but ill have to try it again. Seeing this video really explained a lot, couldn't find one earlier, excited to give it another go. Thanks brother
this is the first bow i got...went to the ranges a couple days ago and got a couple bullseye from 10 meters !!! 💯 great starter bow!!!! super accurate from close range and yeaaaa ur right it does go far!!!
Great video! I was looking around for a youth bow but i had never ever used one or seen one beeing reviewed before! Great Job Donnie B All Day!!! Its very revelant content!!! Keep it coming man i Love the videos... Hahaha i see u. Spinning the arrows like u spin your knives!!!
Shiiiiit! I even spin my fish sti ka! Haha! I did this video because there are no video reviews on youth bows even though they are perfect weekend camp bows people people take them for granted but they are great small game catchers
Thanks for the video bud. Question, you explained the sight fairly well but I noticed there's another plastic attachment. Looking at the build, I think it goes in the hexagon outlet above the handle. Is that to guide the arrow? Thanks again
Just picked up one of these bows for my 7 year old grand son who is also left handed and switched the cam wheels to opposite ends to make it left handed .
Hey mate, I have the same wildhawk compound bow and the barnett quicksilver recurve. I can't seem to fire any straight arrows from the wildhawk, they keep fish tailing or porpoising. However the quicksilver fires beautifully and further than the wildhawk. Do you think the wildhawk is faulty? Or is it bad technique?
I would've never thought a bow like that would be that effective. I might have a look next trip to china mart and pick up one. Plus theyr not too expensive
Hey sir, I'm thinking about buying one, since I just turned 18 a couple months ago, & I seen this bow, on the Dicks Sporting Goods' website. & I was wondering if I needed to have a special license before attempting to buy this? Or could I just buy it? I only want it, to practice & use it as a hobby, for quarantine.
The arrow i used was either what came with it or one I got from a bin at Dicks. Effective range on a rabbit will change obviously with arrowhead choice and arrow drop, but I find it consistent at 20 yards
awesome vud, i picked up one of these today and lost 2 aarows in the snow but ill find them when the snow melts in a couple days lol is there any way to mod the bow so i can have a heavier draw weight?
I am also left handed and my kid has this bow soooo -The cams on that bow can be switched around very easily and move the finger savers to shoot left handed properly. You don’t have to invent some half ass way to use it
All good but how do you install the arrow rest? It looks simple but which way is up/down for it? I bought the Quicksilver bow for my kids but I have no idea about arrow rests. Please can anyone help us.
@@DonnieBAllDay. Wow. Thanks for your quick reply. The manual doesn't say anything about installing it and I have scoured YT and Internet for advice but haven't found anything about it. When I try to put it on the only way it makes any sense is for the arrow to go through the "hole/gap" but this would damage the flights of the arrow. Any other way I go to put it on it won't hold the arrow or guide it. Thanks again for you response. Happy New Year to you and your family.
@@buffaloguts3459 yeah, not the best design. The bow shoots flawlessly without it though. Wish I was a better help. And happy new year's to you and yours
I have legit always been interested in crossbows and compound bows and my big brother told me not so long ago that he has a bow and I asked if it was like a real bow and not just like some kid bow made out of tree and he said "It's just a normal bow" and I was looking everyday at our attic to try and find it and 5-6 mins ago I finally found it and it says bcx hotshot on it so I searched it up and now im here. I couldnt find arrows but I'll for sure buy them myself to use his bow. I wanna buy it off him since he doesn't use it and I love bows so much
@@DonnieBAllDay Gotcha, thanks. I thought the natural shelf/arrow shelf had a strange sticky rubbery texture to it that would cause the arrow to get stick/rub against it and fly crooked...but if it works then I'll start using it o-natural too.
You have to have the store you bought it from switch it for left hand. My daughter is left handed. I bought mine at Dick's sporting goods and they did it for me, but watching your video I just realized they kept all the accessories though. If your interested in selling the sight, I'm interested.
i see ur not using an arm guard while shooting!! any advice on how to not let the string hit ur arm after shooting? 😱 ima still get a arm guard but if u have any tips that wud b greatly appreciated
@@kSwissh007 Yes your elbow is bent and your hitting yourself then there's a good chance you might be gripping it too tight because as you release it your tight grip is curling your wrist inward
You don't have to follow a form to shoot a bow. I'm saying that because I do it while the bow is standing, and sideways as well, and it works, with enough practice nearly anything can work as long as it's doable
I'm rather surprised with this bow. My son turns 7 in 2 weeks, and I ordered it for him. All I've ever shot is a 35 pound recurve, and it's quite the learning curve, which is fine because I do it for fun. I'll try it out when it arrives, but I'll be getting a bow with more of a pull, because the 35 pound bow is becoming too easy to pull back, great exercise, it can be relaxing, calms me down when I become angry, and if anyone gets past my 2 dogs, they'll be dealing with me. It's safer to have a bow, rather than a firearm, when you have kids, also not as noisy. By the way, you're a great shot with bow, you've got my respect.
@@DonnieBAllDay you're welcome. Bow arrived, it's surprisingly powerful (at close distance, real self defense). 7 year old struggles pulling it, so my wife has claimed the bow, and we'll order something lighter for him.
@@DonnieBAllDay oh he'll yes!!! Thank you! Ima use this for my survival backpack I'm preparing so If I get lost in the woods I have everything I need except a way to get out lol
It says youth bow but I'm 21 and I bought one at Walmart for shits and giggles and it's honestly a decent bow for my size, I'm about 5'8 so I'm smaller than most men but if you're about my size it's not too bad
Thanks. My daughter was asking for one for Christmas and I didn't want to invest hundreds of dollars into one if she didn't like the sport. If she does, I'll spring for a higher end bow later. @@DonnieBAllDay
Yes it would ..depending on price range and what you like I would recommend this and the ones at Walmart ..my son is 8 I started him on I believe a Tom cat and a vortex lite..it comes with everything you will need for them to grow with it
Well, it drove me a little bit crazy that you had your arrow in backwards (the outside flight on the arrow was inside) but you probably knew that...nice presentation though...
The world record speed shooter and shot artist docks his arrow on the shooting hand side because its faster. I watched his videos and because of him made the switch. Much better than a cross draw.
I couldn't see the arrow flight clearly because of the camera angle. When I reviewed it I could see it on the outside. You explained your left hand shooting clearly enough. Thanks...
Someday young brother. People will always tell you that parents say no for a reason and it always sounds like lies. But they just might have a plan. Keep the faith. If they see that you really are interested, you never know what can happen.
You got that right. You can volunteer yourself to stand in front of one of the arrows if you doubt it works, but I wouldn't recommend it. I also killed a racoon with a childs BB gun and with that same gun(Crossman 760 Pumpmaster).I loaded in the tiny tip of a Crayola crayon and shot a guy in the leg. The crayon went through his jeans and straight into his thigh.
I bought a mossy oak centershot light weight for survival. One question, what about when there is a raid like what we are facing and for some of us that swore an oath to the constitution against tyranny that we are facing today? Are there any tips for the survival part?
Tips for bows for defending self and rights? Shoot crosshand. Shooting right handed, arrow goes on the right side. Its the best method for speed shooting
