Eloi Fuguet, professional recorder player and teacher, explains the differences between Baroque fingering and German fingering on this instrument. In this very interesting video Eloi reveals how the musician Arnold Dolmetsch creates the first recorder of the twentieth century... by accident! Or how fellow musician Peter Harlan evolves his design. He also shows us the exact differences of each fingering and how the C scale is played on each one.
For this video, Eloi is using the Hohner Alegra Line flutes: a B95860 in ivory colour with baroque fingering, and a B95862 in blue colour with German fingering.
This is the first of a video series in which Eloi will bring us closer to the world of the recorder by explaining curiosities and practical aspects of this popular instrument.
