We all know how much his brother had in his decision to leave. Leaving to go to bloody Blackburn for pennies (for a player like Barry) was a bit of a kick in the teeth. The fact he also got MoTM in just about every game he played for Blackburn just proved that he should've went to a team in the top 4 at least. You were my hero Barry, and leaving the way you did broke my heart.
I cried when you left. Won’t lie. Okay I was like 7/8 but damn I cried and I cried when you came back and I cried when you left for good. Why you do this to young me Barry
Barry Ferguson is the best Rangers player in my lifetime. He was a hero even though he's about the same age. Class act. Great club captain. He won us the league twice nearly single handed.
For me one of our greatest ever, gutted when he left, literally crying the night on transfer deadline day when the breaking news hit late on that he was on his way back up the road. Watching him live was just a privilege, the simplicity, yards he created himself with 1 touch, the driving into the opp gaps, pulling the team forward, demanding standards etc etc. Was at Wembley watching him run the English ragged the night Dom Hutchison scored the winner.. a 21 year old lad dominating apparent world class players. For anyone involved in coaching or kids involved in the game that play in that position, he’s the example. Pure class.
As a Celtic and Scotland 🏴 fan. This man was a fantastic player. Even with Boozegate the press made it out worse than it was. Was committed to both club and country. Excellent player.
Celtic man here but always admired Ferguson. Proper professional. Great player. To be told your boyhood club that you dreamed of playing for were selling you must be really tough.
Hope tae see Barry bk doing something at Ibrox in the future one of them players that was a Rangers boy through and through not just there for a wage 🙂😎 great wee player in his day 100%
Should be back in some capacity. He's learned the hard way, and now seems mature enough to fill some role at the club. He's Rangers to the core, and would teach the younger boys what it means.
@@jamiebaggs6045 no there not mate, Chris McGlaughlan is banned (for one side reporting) the rest of the BBC are welcome... it’s the BBC who have chose not to enter ibrox
Would be really good to hear the full story from Barry. i feel he is holding back some information none the less he was one of the best who helped ranger's 👍💙
Hated Ferguson with a passion when he played against us but I would have loved his passion in a celtic top back then with hindsight ive listened to him talk on many occasions and have a lot of respect for him now
Imagine bazza back at rangers in a coaching role? Rangers would most definitely produce the best midfield players in europe, imagine being a young midfielder learning your trade you have great potential and rangers ask you to sign for them, you get to work with one of the best midfielders England has ever produced in Gerrard and the best midfielder scotland has ever produced in barry fergusson and the best centre midfielder Scotland produced in the late 80s early 90s ,the amount of information these 3 guys could give you, that's an ibrox dream team plus would be fergies quickest route to the ibrox manager, obviously we are all delighted with Gerrard and what he's doing for the club but having that security knowing if liverpool lure Gerrard back to Anfield fergusson is the next rangers manager 👌 that would obviously be the perfect scenario for rangers and surely the convaere belt of midfielder's that would come through the academy would help rangers on the park and financially. ❤💙🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@anthonyoneill9053 😂😂😂more exaggerated than Griffiths saying Celtic are the best team in Scotland naaa more exaggerated than Celtic supporters saying Duffy is going to stroll this league 😂😂naaa , why are you still obsessed with the famous? If it's because you genuinely want to watch a good team play this season then fair dooz 😁
@@c4m774 that group is the one that always stans out to me as being the biggest underachieving team we had. If Mols hadn't gotten that injury, he might have been able to quickly get back up and belt the ball into an empty goal then only gods knows how far we could have went. To think a team like that never made it out the group but a team with centre backs playing as full backs, second choice keeper and only 1 left footed player in the whole squad made it to the UEFA CUP FINAL is just madness. Or was Beasley part of that squad? I know we played McCulloch out on the left in front of Papac quite a bit...
Rangers Legend Working Class Hero Got it both ways; up there for thinking and doon there for dancing Wish him all the very best in his coaching career & hopefully see the True Blue in the hotseat as our Gaffer one day NS
He was right to want to test himself against top players week in week out. It is natural and should be an ambition for every player to aspire to play at the highest level.
one of the best young midfielders to come through at ibrox and he's scottish there won't be another like him for a while as soon as dick advocate gave him his chance there was no looking back and to get the captaincy at a very young age I was gutted when he left to go down south and then he came back up the road and we all know what happened after that the v sign scandal that ended his time at ibrox but he will be remembered for what he achieved absolute legend ..🔴⚪🔵👍
I can remember meeting the Rangers team with loads of other fans in there hotel over in Bratislava.. fergie & hemdani got in the hotel lift after signing a few autographs and never saw me and my 7 year old son.. fergie turned round to hemdani and said “I’m sick of these people”
@@Rfccfctml If that was the case then you would step back into the shadows after retirement... not pop up on the BBC, PLZ, Go Radio, the Record... come on mate Fergie, was/is/always will be/ an attention seeker.
@@terrencemunro I know what you mean and fair enough it is true but I think no matter who you are signing autographs and pictures will piss you off now and then.
Some people really take the piss asking for autographs hanging off shoulders, putting their arms around you tugging your jacket, shoving paper and pens in your face. Imagine this happenings several times a day. Some people think they demand a god given right to get their attention approaching them when they're in Asda with the wife and kids, tugging their jumper going Barry Barry Barry or approaching them at dinner tables in restaurants shoving paper in their face. Personally for me, I don't even like shopping in my local Tesco cause I hate meeting people I grew up with having to stand chatting for ages so I go to far away ones, I can't imagine what it's like being famous
@@graeme2011 I've just burst out laughing at this as i've just moved back to where I grew up and there's a Tesco right next to me. After only a couple of shops I was telling my Mum last night how I'll have to do my shopping back to where I was before for the same reason as you.
At least he ventured down south unlike brown whos never had the balls to test himself south of the border even if it was only for a while fergie still had the balls to do it 🇬🇧
Was a season ticket holder when Ferguson left for Blackburn. He got dogs abuse from some of the support during his final match (against Hibs, I think) at Ibrox. It was a bit over the top.
@@AS-ww3fe Prior ti the match it was in the papers that he was leaving. Some of the support were not happy about this. I don't recall whether he had a good game, but my comment had nothing to do with his performance that day?
He stood up at a player of the season awards ceremony and said he couldnt wait to sign on for another 4 years , month later he was off to blackburn ! Tell the truth barry you wanted to go to the EPL .
I'm a rangers fan, If i was playing for rangers, I would want to leave rangers to play in England, Spain, Germany, Italy or France to play at the highest level, because i know won't win the champions league realistically speaking especially in this day and age, so I would be happy to leave rangers to further my career
...I'm sure he was smashing in Scotland...but...he couldn't hack it in the Premier League first time around and second time around he couldn't hack it and dropped down the divisions in England...
@harrydrake4173 Yep. He literally shattered his kneecap and was still their best midfielder at that time by some distance. Plus homesick to Birmingham? 😆
@@randommadness1021 Season ticket holder here pal yes he played some good games but I Personally thought his heart wasn’t in it slagged us off a little when he left can you not remember 👍
Great player but don't forget how he left second time round, with the Scotland saga. Disrespected the club and Walter by not keeping his head down after being told to. His performances after that were awful, especially his final game in the Scottish cup final
Why? He's not telling the truth. He wasn't pushed out the door like he's suggesting here. He handed in a transfer request after winning the treble with us in 2003 and after thinking he had achieved everything he could with us listened to his brother and put in a transfer request.
@@randommadness1021 exactly. Broke his knee and came back, couldn’t hack the pace of the EPL. Came back to Rangers did his bit, did some more. Walter Smith realised why he caused trouble and sold him to Birmingham City. He scored 4 goals down south for all his English teams. Wasn’t even in the same league as Gerrard, Scholes, lampard, Fletcher, Carrick never mind guys like Ballack, Vieira, Fàbregas, Alonso, Modrić or Essien.
I love Ferguson but I dont believe his side of the story about having to leave to get rangers money. Hes already admitted he fancied trying England. I remember mcleish at the time saying they were trying to convince him to stay but Ferguson was 'troubled'
Love him to bits but don’t talk shite Barry you put a transfer request in. Admittedly you regretted it but using the money thing is just an excuse. You took it for playing for us for granted, end of story.
Compare Bazza to Billy Gilmour. One is a true fan the other is a pretender! Imagine leaving before you have even pulled on the jersey of your boyhood heroes!
Aye a can see it fae the money side right enough pitty we didnae ken he was gona do a jump ship like Tierney did waste o time developing players like that and wee gilmour should have left him alone if that's how he was gona treat his boyhood club 100% certain he wouldnae be playin in EPL if we hadn't developed him turn coat we bastard.
@Steven Gray He would of been setup for life playing for The Rangers or playing for us for 4 or 5 years then moving on and getting the club money... He couldnae wait to get out the door. No true Ranger would ever do what he done not before putting on the jersey.
@Steven Gray Rangers every day of the week. His parents most of been in some anount of crazy debt for him to choose not playing for the team he grew up supporting if what you say is true.
He wants to be best player he can be. That can’t be achieved at staying at Rangers….let’s be honest. He made the right decision when u like look at where he could end up…
