Hey guys, here's the super simple SRT Basal Anchor Tie-Off that I use. No gear, just a rope, very quick and simple to set up. I learned the trick with the double fisherman's from a RU-vidr, "Poplar Mechanic", check out his channel here: / poplarmechanic

I prefer to use a 2 ton green soft sling choked around the base then attatched to my climbing line with a steel carabiner and a figure 8. Flash set up but not happy about doing that to my rope.

How do you like that rope? I'm 2 years into climbing and I've bought and climbed on a lot of ropes and thats my favorite so far for my zig zag and my rope runner pro

What rope is that? I am new and haven't tried much more than some cheap Hyperclimb 11.7. I've seen Hunicke recommend Scandere 11.7.

I love these videos, dear patrick, let me do a question, how Heavy you are as a pro climber? You looks tall, just as i, 193 cm and full of muscle 110 kg. What do you think about it ? Should i lost weight? Thanks
@johnearnhardt540

I'm 198 cm and 110kg, I've been climbing about a year and haven't needed to lose weight. Just staying in good and active shape to do the work is important. Know what you need to tie into and just make sure you know your species and tie ins for your weight and you'll be just fine. Stay safe

Does this not negate the bowline entirely? You're really just climbing on the double fishermans. If that's the case and you're using the alpine why have the bowline at all?
@matiascamprubi-soms7719
@matiascamprubi-soms7719 Год назад
Not at all; that double fisherman is not holding anything. It's basically just enough friction there to hold the weight of the bowline and prevent that sit-back/slack in it the running part of the running bowline, which HYPOTHETICALLY can cause the knot to undo itself, but I don't think that is gonna happen the way he ties it here. The double fisherman will readily slide in either direction with minimal effort when applied like you're releasing any friction hitch.
