In the meantime before the manual version of the Stampinator is released has anyone attempted to use a heat press with teflon sheet (I imagine a side swivel would be the best option to swing it around to the platen) to manually achieve the incredible results shown while on press? I'm tempted to do so but haven't seen anyone attempt this before. Such an incredible result with the Stampinator and I want to up my game and achieve the perfect white underbase that Lee and Ryan so beautifully demonstrated in this video.

Yes I have done this many times. The Teflon sheets work well and do crisp up my prints but they also add a shine to the print. I prefer my prints to look matte so I don’t use the Teflon often. Also the tiny grid texture from the Teflon sheets presses into the prints and you can see it, if you look close. I’ve also used baking paper and it gives less shine but it wrinkles pretty fast and the wrinkles will transfer onto your prints, so you end up having to switch out your sheet every few prints which is a pain.

Thanks for letting me know you tried this. I attempted it right on the press and it didn’t work but heat press works wonders after the final cure and I’m heat pressing most things. Agreed the baking sheets I have to replace a lot when it starts to wrinkle. Do you have any other tips/suggestions for achieving a perfect white print?

I did this, with the Geo knight digital combo press. It actually works.

@@fernandonunez89 Did you use the heat press instead of the flasher right on press? I attempted with my heat press and my shoulder would've been wrecked pushing down on the platen too much haha. The Stampinator is on my radar but if this heat press does the same thing and doesn't kill my arm maybe I'll have to give it a shot! I want the Stamp but I can't justify $7,000 U.S. at the moment (I'm in Canada so who knows how much that'll be here).

@scotlandskysurf8948 I have a flash by itself. I find it that it works better. The heat press that I use it's an auto clamp with air. It requires a compressor. I modified to work once I press a remote it goes down by itself.

I like to use the roller after the last color is flashed. I get a nice smoooth print, especially if i am just doing a white print and i roll the top white after it's flashed.

do you use the stampinator over hoodie pockets and how do you do it?

Yup! It works just the same over hoodie pockets but I definitely recommend having the green rubber in between the Teflon and the heat plate to help cushion the seamed areas. I think they come with the rubber now if I'm not mistaken.

The odd one but most of them have been user error on my part. They definitely take a bit of trial and error to get right

@@TrueArtPassion all I use is bolt in my shop. I use 1% VB but you can go as high as 3%.

Okay, you will probably dilute the color for the underbase more than if you print a 1Color print with White because otherwise the opacity will suffer, right? I don’t have the experience with the Wilflex colors yet 😅@leestuart38
