A 18 yr embroidery veteran here. Always test on actual fabric vs backing, you won’t get the same results on just backing. I know installers techs say to use backing but it’s always better to use real fabric.

Really looking forward to more embroidery content. Thank you for posting! I had a very similar job last month on an independent flannel. The thinner thread and needle worked out great for the tiny text and small flying birds in the design.

Look into putting solvy ontop when you are doing small lettering. It helps alot, its also water soluble so you can clean it right off.

Sample on the backing paper always looks different because of pull/push compensation and that’s why samples should always be done on intended fabrics. And also please be careful with needle bar shaft they are very weak on all the models with DCP. I have already broken 3 of them with very minor impact

anyone ever use embroidered adhesive in a flannel? looking for other options since I do not have an embroidery machine to put on flannels
@leestuart38
@leestuart38 10 месяцев назад
Heat press adhesive works ok, but it doesn't last over time. It's usually good for about 50-60 washes
@mrjonnyjones
@mrjonnyjones 10 месяцев назад
IMO the hat looked dope, the flannel seemed... misplaced? As if they needed to use a different colour-way or something. Either way, nice job dude!
@leestuart38

Anytime there's a pattern involved that sort of happens, it's the negative space in the design. Some like it and some don't

Yes. 60wt is only 80% the width of 40wt. So you need to increase density up 120%.
