BASF Kids’ Lab was held in Singapore, at the Kolam Ayer Community Club, to raise awareness on sustainability among 7 to 12-year-old children. The global CSR program by BASF has been running worldwide since 1997 to help children discover the world of chemistry and learn how it can be used to contribute towards sustainability through simple, safe and fun experiments.
On May 31 and June 1, BASF Kids’ Lab reached out to about 240 children from the community, who had fun learning about plastic recycling and bioplastics under the facilitation by employee volunteers from BASF and student volunteers from the National University of Singapore. Working in partnership with the @People’s Association Singapore this year, Kids’ Lab was part of its Community Action Network (CAN) initiative under Project We Care, that seeks to collaborate with corporate and the community for collective ground-up efforts to uplift children, particularly those from underprivileged communities.
Through our societal engagement efforts, BASF continues to support quality education and a sustainable future as part of our commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the Singapore government’s efforts. We remain steadfast in our endeavors to interest the younger generation to keep pursing STEM education and careers, nurture future talents for the chemical industry and and work towards building a sustainable future together.
